  1. ROA VAN ELDERIDGE:
  2.
  3. The No. 2 ranked Crossbone, though she cannot accurately be called the second in command - she is closer to Akane's most treasured Crossbone. A vampire girl from the Metroidvania series Divine Blood/Red Lily's Nightly Delight, forever trapped in the form of a young girl, and with the more to manipulate and expand environments. She was originally a young girl living in a long-forgotten kingdom, among several other orphans in a kindly old nun's church. Her life was simple and she was happy, but one day, the Night Duke, Kaisichler, appeared outside the church's doors one winter night. Sad that a man was out in the cold at this time of night, Roa opened the doors and offered an invitation inside. He fed upon and killed all of the other orphans and nuns in the church, but chose to spare Roa - and grant her a gift of eternal life at the same time. After turning the young girl, he spirited her away to his castle, beyond the endless fields of red spider lilies. There she developed her power to manipulate architecture, but in truth she did not appreciate the gift Kaisichler gave her for long, as she soon realized that she could never enjoy good food again, never walk out during a beautiful sunny day, never gain a body any older than a child's. Nonetheless, she was grateful to Kaisichler for not killing her, and so she used her power to expand his castle in all directions, crossing past space and even time, becoming a chaotic mesh of rooms that shift and move from generation to generation, all while she waited in the second highest tower, "enjoying" her eternal life by her lonesome.

  5. Her personality, which is just as arrested as her body when it comes to development, is rather childish, spoiled, and maladjusted due to centuries of loneliness. She often spends time playing all by herself or forcing other Crossbones to play with her, threatening to hurt them if they don't come - except Akane and Amelia. She's very picky when it comes to food, preferring to drink high-class blood rather than commoner blood, though the blood of warriors will do if no noble blood is available for her to drink. Whenever another Crossbone other than Akane, even Ameila, tries to get her to hold back from one of her flights of fancy, she will often get grumpy and begin to pout, and if sufficiently agitated she'll often attack them, though she knows not to actually kill or permanently harm them. She likes boasting about how she's probably the single most conceptually powerful Crossbone, being capable of overwhelming even Absyn if given a head start. Despite all this, she's extremely dutiful when it comes to her job of being the castle's keeper, and will follows orders and complex instructions from Akane without fail. Her childishness extends to interactions with her enemies, often considering facing them to be more like a game than a battle situation, though if one of them personally threatens Akane she'll enter a completely cold fury where she tries to destroy them without fail. This is often successful, given the strength of her abilities. Likewise, her eternal life and centuries of killing others leads her to consider life outside those who are close to her (thus, the Crossbones) of little value, almost like stepping on dying leaves.

  7. Despite her overall creepy yet positive attitude, she hides a deep sadness over her eternal life being joined with a child's body and mind, and still resents how she cannot walk in daylight, eat food other than blood and flesh, or even wade through a running stream. Perhaps her only solace is how her ability grants her immunity to her worlds' vampires needing to be invited to enter buildings. Despite this, she often chides humans for busting into her home without an invitation, considering holy warriors and mighty mages to be little better than common robbers breaking into a house to steal things - or, even more demeaning, some housefly that entered her home without thinking, and now needs to be swat. She has a huge crush on Akane, wanting to grow up to be her bride - but of course, that is impossible, adding immensely to her angst, especially as Akane sees her as just a little sister, with completely platonic feelings for her as a result. The bond between them is very deep however, as they met each other very shortly into the game, and thus quickly came to see each other as their closest friends in the game. Akane will do anything to protect Roa, and Roa will do anything to protect Akane. She is constantly praising of Akane's accomplishments and believes Akane is a genius who can do no wrong, often annoying other Crossbones whenever they feel like a scheme Akane has cooked up lacks foresight and could cause problems. Because of her feelings for Akane, she is very jealous of Akane's succubi, and while she will not hurt or kill them to avoid upsetting Akane, she does act overall rude and dismissive to them, unlike most other people in the Crossbones' network. However, she sees no problem with Akane creating more, as she believes Akane should be free to do whatever she wants and find happiness after her tragic history. She dislikes the idea of returning to being a human, having seen how fragile they are over the centuries, and is certain she'd be sent to Hell if she dies. Instead, her deepest wish is to no longer be confined to a child's body and mind.

  9. Her primary ability is her architectural, spatial shaping, which allows her to duplicate rooms, manipulate their contents, arrange them in unusual ways, move them freely, expand or retract them as she pleases, replicate items inside them, manipulate them to attack enemies, create traps, and even perform more unique forms of spatial warping such as hiding items in objects which logically couldn't fit them - such as a roast chicken inside a candelabra for instance. In addition to this, she also has an assortment of other vampire abilities, such as teleportation, temporary intangibility, turning into a swarm of moths, throwing purple fireballs, releasing a wave of freezing air, growing claws and striking with great speed, and more. Her Void Eye has the power of Sight, allowing her to create voids throughout her castles that she can project her eye into and see through, allowing her to remotely control the castle to deal with enemies instead of being limited to her own personal quarters when it comes to active manipulation. Her named rank in the Crossbones is Sage, and her symbol is a crumbling castle with holes reminiscent of a skull's eyes, and a portcullis reminiscent of sharp teeth.

  11. She wears a somewhat tattered, black nightgown in an elegant style, which goes down to her ankles. The upper torso portion of the nightgown is pale grey rather than black, though the frilled seams are the same gray-black as the other seams on the costume. The pale patterns of the top of the upper portion extend down a certain length, separating into a set of 9 lines of pale fabric, which, combined with the two large black buttons on the front of the nightgown, make the pale portion look somewhat like a skull. The nightgown's shoulders are frilled in appearance, and extend into long, draping sleeves with frilled edges. She wears black mary janes on her feet, which can be seen below the tattered bottom of her skirt. Her fingernails are painted black, while her skin is as pale as snow. Her hair is dark lavender in coloration and has two prominent, drooping bangs which curl into spirals below her chest, while the back of her hair is overall longer than these bangs and twists and curls in a more uneven fashion. Her non-Void eye is red, and her teeth are pointy, but not quite as sharp as Akane's, aside from her fangs of course. She has two black cross shaped earrings.
  12.
  13. Her invitation read: "Esteemed Lady Roa von Elderidge, we hereby invite you to the Calling, the festival which crosses all worlds. Should you partake of our offer, we shall grant you an escape from that old castle, a chance to meet new friends which share your immortality, balms for your kind's weaknesses, and, most importantly, a method to undo how you are cursed to remain in a child's body. Sign your name below, and the door shall open for you."
