- Prompt: Intimate soul touching.
- What this actually turned into: Soul touching, slight sensitive bones, and slight bone boy appreciation. sans deserves it and i’m a shameless skelefucker etc etc
- Your day was spent like any other, with you doing the hard work around the house while Sans lounged on your couch, arm stretched lazily across the back. He flipped idly through the different stations on the TV while you stood at the kitchen sink, washing the dishes from lunch.
- “hey, kiddo,” Sans called, turning to face the direction of your kitchen and dining room.
- You shut the sink faucet off and emerged from the doorway, wiping your hands quickly with a towel before entering the living room.
- “What’s up?” you said, sitting down cross-legged with your back against the arm of the couch across from him.
- “i got somethin’ to show ya.”
- You had been dating the skeleton for around three months now and you had thought his surprises had run their gamut, honestly. Still, you were unbelievably happy with him and after meeting his family and group of friends you were ready for anything he could throw at you, physically or metaphorically.
- “I’m all eyes,” you said, smiling widely.
- He grinned back at you. “good. you remember all the magic stuff i told you? with souls and all that?”
- You nodded carefully.
- “i wanna show you my soul. i think you can handle it.” Sans said, winking.
- Your eyes widened. “You can show it to me?”
- “yeah, hold on.” Sans unzipped his jacket and slid it off his shoulders.
- He shifted on the couch, mirroring how you were sitting. He straightened his back, took a deep breath, and pulled lightly at the area in front of his plain white t-shirt.
- His soul emerged slowly; the small, blue, shimmering heart shape it occupied hovered carefully in his lap, lighting up the space between the two of you slightly. The light it gave off reminded you of the videos of aurora borealis you had seen online a few nights earlier.
- “T-that’s…your soul?” you whispered, still taken aback by how pure its color appeared to be. Peering into it brought thoughts of the blues of the open ocean to you. Its depth seemed to go on forever.
- “the one and only thing keeping me from bein’ just a bag of bones.”
- You knew monsters survived on magic but this was a bit troubling. It was so easy for him to display his soul to you and even though you knew that he was stronger than most of the other monsters, you worried about how vulnerable this made him.
- Without even thinking, you reached up and caressed the side of his soul, wanting to feel just what it was made out of. It reminded you of airy jello, like someone had been too eager to make the dessert and took it out of the fridge before it was fully solidified.
- Sans gasped and quickly grabbed your wrist, pulling your arm away from the heart floating in front of you. A light azure blush filled his cheeks as he used his other hand to nudge his soul back into where it came from.
- He let out a breathy chuckle and moved his hands down so he was holding the hand you had used to touch his soul in between his bony palms.
- “Could you feel that?” you asked, furrowing your eyebrows quizzically.
- “um, kind of,” Sans mumbled, avoiding your gaze. If he stared at your hand any longer he was like to burn a hole through it.
- “monsters don’t really…we aren’t really intimate like humans are,” he said, rolling your knuckles in between his fingers absentmindedly. “a lot of us don’t have the uh, parts, for human intimacy, so ours is a different kind involving a lot of a trust and some soul-touching.”
- You could feel your face growing hot as you realized just what you had done.
- “I’m really sorry,” you whispered quickly, cursing yourself for your inability to keep your hands to yourself.
- “nothing to be sorry about,” he answered. “you were curious. happens to the best of us.”
- “No, no,” you said, shaking your head, “you trusted me to see your soul and I totally-“
- He cut you off mid-ramble with a chuckle. “i don’t really mind, honestly. just give a guy some warning the next time you want to rattle his bones.”
- “You said monsters use souls to be intimate, right?”
- “yeah, they’re also how monsters reproduce.”
- “And I have a soul, right?”
- He laughed deeply. You loved hearing him so happy, his deep voice resonating within his bones, but you barely ever got the chance; he was more inclined to chuckle at the jokes you made. “they wouldn’t be compatible, kiddo, so don’t get any ideas.”
- You clicked your tongue and elbowed him in the rib. “Not where I was going with that. I wanted to know if you could show me mine.”
- “hmm.” He paused for a moment, lacing his fingers between yours. “i dunno, love…”
- “Please? Pretty please? With ketchup on top?”
- “if you really want, i guess.”
- He spread his legs out in front of him and patted the couch cushion in between them before you shifted to sit in his lap, legs stretched out in front of you as well.
- You sat with your hands folded peacefully in your lap. Sans wrapped his arms around you, fingers trailing their way around your ribcage and settling in front of where your sternum would be showing, if you were lacking in skin and muscle like your boyfriend. He pulled lightly at the air in front of your chest, and you could feel it in your center. The pressure started to take your breath away as he pulled harder, and you bit your lip to keep yourself from telling him to stop.
- It felt…uncomfortable. You weren’t even sure if that was the right word to describe it. The sensation was similar to that of going down a large drop on a rollercoaster; as though something deep inside you was falling out. Now that your soul was suspended in front of you, however, you felt completely normal. Like nothing was even missing.
- Your soul was a deep brownish black, but you swore you could see shimmers of color in it. You frowned. A heart-shaped, oil slick-esque soul was not what you were expecting to come out of your chest.
- “don’t be so disappointed,” Sans chuckled, lightly brushing your soul up into the sunset light from the window across from where the two of you were sitting. “look.”
- You gasped. It was if a galaxy had erupted inside the small heart shape; your soul reflected back the sunlight in a way similar to that of the fire opals you had seen in an antique shop once. Brilliant blues, greens, and reds danced around the bedspread and the wall behind your bed. Suddenly your soul didn’t seem so bad.
- “It’s gorgeous.”
- “like its owner,” he whispered. You could feel him smile and press a kiss into the top of your head.
- “To be honest with you, it’s not what I expected it to look like,” you said, turning around carefully in his lap, wrapping your legs around his waist and meeting the bright, white pinpricks of his eyes.
- “i’m not quite sure what i expected your soul to look like either, but this makes sense.”
- “It makes sense?”
- “yeah,” he said, reaching up and twirling the split ends of your hair between his fingers. “all of the other human souls i’ve seen have been children’s, and they were too young to have more than one prominent trait in their soul. you’re old enough to have yours be a mixture of things, i guess. like a chemical soul-ution of different traits.”
- You decided to let that one slide.
- “Wait, hold on, when you moved it…” you said, probing one finger into the gelatinous mass of your own soul. You frowned again. “I can’t feel anything.”
- “huh. that’s weird. maybe it’s a human thing?”
- You snorted. Great. Just another way the universe was trying to tell you it was not ok that you were dating a skeleton.
- Suddenly, an idea crossed your mind. You smirked and looked up at Sans, meeting the lights of his eyes.
- “Can you show me your soul again really quick?”
- He sighed dramatically and rolled his eyes, signature grin growing into a smirk to match yours. He poked your soul back into place in your chest before repeating his actions from earlier, removing his own.
- “i can’t just do this sort of thing willy-nilly, you know-”
- You cut off his train of thought by leaning forward, closing the gap between the two of you. You set your chin on his shoulder, one hand supporting your weight on the couch while the other toyed with his patella, slowly trailing up his shorts to his femur.
- “I just want to thank you for trusting me,” you purred, hand slipping out of the leg of his shorts and moving to the pair of ribs protruding from under his shirt as he leaned against the arm of the couch. He let out a breathy laugh, clearly amused by whatever you had planned.
- You continued on like that for a few moments, fingers moving upwards and carefully caressing the inside of his ribcage. He chuckled beneath you as your smile grew. You peppered his cheekbones with kisses, admiring the blue blush that started to appear across his face.
- “you enjoying yourself, kid?”
- “Absolutely. It’s your turn to feel great for a change,” you said, punctuating your statement by nuzzling your nose into Sans’ forehead.
- “well,” he breathed, propping his arms up behind his head. “do your worst.”
- You sat back on your heels, and, carefully avoiding the soul still hovering in front of him, you pulled his shirt off over his head. Leaning forward again, you kissed down his sternum as you stroked at his spine, paying careful attention to processes on either side of his vertebrae.
- Sans groaned as your attention turned to his soul, pointer finger tracing carefully around the shape of it.
- You gasped when another idea popped into your head, this one a major improvement on your thinking before.
- “Sans,” you giggled, biting your lip and looking up to met his gaze. “Do you trust me?”
- He nodded slowly, staring down at you. The fact that you held his attention so strongly in such a short amount of time sent a pang of heat straight to your groin, but that would have to wait until later.
- You carefully pressed the flat of your tongue to his soul, keeping your eyes on his to make sure he was alright with what you were doing. A moan erupted from Sans and the blush on his cheekbones grew darker.
- “fuck, you’re something else, kitten,” he growled, one hand tangling in your hair while the other scraped into the cushion of the couch, looking for purchase. You could tell from the way his bones were shaking that he was holding back from pressing your face deeper into his soul.
- You licked carefully across its surface, from the tip of the heart up to where its two arches met. At the same time, you lazily scraped a fingernail across the vertebrae before his pelvis. Sans shook harder, nearly causing the couch to move under you. He was falling apart and you loved every minute of it.
- “god, yes, please-” he babbled endlessly, begging words mixing in with your name.
- You swirled your tongue around the blue pool of his soul, probing the tip deeper into it with each moan emitted from the skeleton quivering beneath you.
- Sans reached his peak, low moans echoing around the room and back arching off the couch. You withdrew from his soul but continued slowly stroking the curve of his ilium as he came off the waves of his orgasm.
- He ran a hand over the top of his skull, as though he had hair there to run his fingers through.
- “So thanks,” you smiled up at him, a long string of blue goo trailing from the heart shape of his soul to your bottom lip. You broke it with your tongue, running it along your lips, taking in the taste of his soul. Sans’ cheekbones were still dotted with bright blue patches of blush.
- “you have no idea how perfect you are, kiddo.” he whispered, ruffling your hair.
- You curled up in his arms, avoiding the sharper parts of his anatomy as you snuggled in, pulling a nearby blanket over the both of you.
- “I love you,” you sighed, as he drifted to sleep under you.
