Despite recent decreases in its prevalence, male genital mutilation, aka “circumcision” is still common in many areas. MGM:

>is barbaric — the genitals of infants are literally torn and cut apart with NO anasthesia
>is for no medical benefit — no credible pediatric health organizations recommend circumcision
>is damaging to the adult male — nearly 50% of the total skin of the penis is removed and 80% of the nerve endings leading to numb and unsatisfying sex for the man and his partner
>can lead to horrible complications  — as many as 55% suffer complications including mutilated/severed penises, nerve damage, infection, and death

Female circumcision in all forms (even ceremonial circumcision which is merely a pin prick on the labia), is banned throughout most of the world.
