- [00:13] The library was empty upon their arrival, not even non-magi could be seen. This brought a smile to Syracuse's lips, perfect. Tilting a head towards his guide, he'd clap a hand upon Constantin's shoulder.
- "Good job Conny, and good choice deciding to listen."
- As he spoke he'd simply pilfer the needed materials to begin the first steps of teaching Yun the written word. He knew it was illegal but truthfully? He couldn't care less.
- In fact as he purposely exercised his will upon the laws of Huangzhou he felt a bit better. The collar felt a little less tight, a bit less like it had power over him.
- His steel-capped boots echoed resoundingly upon the bamboo floors. The sound of their clacking creating a rhythmic noise. It was not an unpleasant one, in fact oddly enough. No noises the Neries had made seemed to be anything than enjoyable.
- How could this be? For those who could tell based on his expression they might say he was feeling his emotions a bit to strongly. Of course his true feelings only flashed briefly, normally when no one was looking. For when they where? A smooth smirk greeted them.
- Symbolic casting, his emotions fueled the spells of melodious magic. Every sound twinged with the arcane to be pleasant upon those around him.
- With a smooth motion he'd sit the pieces of charcoal and paper down upon the table. Gesturing towards the seats as he did so, for his students to sit.
- He'd first sit next to Yun, taking out a piece of paper and a piece of charcoal. Handing here one of each as well. With a smooth motion he'd write the letters of the Valmsian tongue down.
- "You see these symbols? They're like your drawings, except each represents a spoken sound you see? For instance."
- He'd point towards several letters, that when looked at together created the sounds for the word 'tree' of course in this fantastical language the letters even sort of made the shape of a tree. If a bit crudely.
- "These letters together make the word for tree. If you notice, they even sort of look like it."
- Of course he was teaching old valmasian, it was the basis for all the Brittanian languages. Thus it made the most sense to be the language to teach them with.
- As he spoke he'd showcase the correct method to draw some of the more complex symbols. Simple things like wrist posture and which part of the symbol to start with.
- "You see, it's all about starting at the top of this symbol, while you'd start the drawing of this symbol from the side."
- As he spoke he'd showcase all he was saying in action. After all those who can't do, teach. However, Syracuse was a man of doing. So, he'd do and teach. A playful chuckle escaped his lips as he pondered this fact.
- "Now, I want you to practice on drawing the letters Yun. Once you get the hang of it we can continue."
- He'd shift up to look at Constantin as he left the young Ookami to practice. Of course he expected her to listen to what he had to say to the young man as well.
- It was what he'd asked after all, time and attention. With a smile Syarcuse leveled his sienna hues upon the young man's golden huse.
- "You said you'd like to learn of the Dream? Well, you might have heard of it from others. Rather, you might have heard parts of it."
- He'd clasp his hands together, resting them upon the oaken table. Leaning forward he'd almost whisper, as if talking to aan old friend about an inside joke.
- "However, they've got it wrong. They've not had the mind to think beyond what the was told to them as they grew up."
- At that he gave the man a pointed look, he'd heard of his intentions to join the Illuminated. However, his look had a smile to it.
- "I heard you say you wished to join the Illuminated. They can give you answers, but they only understand a fragment of the Dream."
- With a breath he'd lean back, glancing at Yun's work. Making sure she was listening to what he was saying.
- "The Dream, simply put. Is a belief that we can create a paradise upon this world. That we can fix the flawed landscape of war, famine, hate, and death that we are all born into."
- Those dull sienna hues, shifted back to Constantin. Drilling into the young man with an intensity.
- "Their are four tenets passed to us by the prophet Sareen. They are to seek out Progress, Truth, stability, and temperance. I will presume to tell you briefly about these four."
- As he spoke he'd raise his hand, after each point raising another finger. Until eventually he'd have four, all his fingers, raised.
- "Seeking progress is the desire to improve the knowledge of Kraus' creations in order to better craft our paradise. No knowledge is inherently evil, only those who use it are misguided."
- He'd smile a bit, the second finger raising as he moved onto the next tenet. One he'd clung to as a youth.
- "Next is truth, seeking to understand your fellow thnking beings. To learn their views, their beliefs. Do not scorn them, always act with humility."
- A tilt of his head as he glanced to Yun, a third finger rising.
- "Stability, we all must work to bring unity amongst the differing peoples capable of thought upon Agartha. Not just mankind but Agarthans and Fae as well."
- Finally a fourth finger rose, the last tenet that had been passed down by the Prophet Sareen. The woman known as the Dreamer to most.
- "Temperance, utilize the virtues of Mercy, truth, and justice to keep the above tenets from spiraling into corrupted shadows of themselves."
- Yet rather than end his lesson, his thumb would aris. With a knowing smile the Neries would continue. At this point he'd also notice Maest, little trickster she was. He'd give her a smile as well, how long had they been listening?
- "Finally the fifth tenet, the one I have discovered in my journey. Pursue Freedom, search for those things which make you happy, which bring you joy. Embrace the lifestream and all the wonders it creates in the world."
- As he came to an end he'd gently lean back, his gaze shifting from face to face. Curious if perhaps he could find new converts, now students to add to his flock. Perhaps they could one day know the deeper truths of the Dream?
- (Syracuse Fengari)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [00:15] Maest Ruriko asks, "...Pursue freedom?"
- [00:15] Maest Ruriko asks, "What is freedom, Syracuse?"
- [00:21] Constantin says, "Hmmm... It is quite interesting."
- [00:21] Syracuse Fengari says, "Freedom? Why it's the pursuits of happiness. It's making your own choices. All things of your own will. One cannot be a tyrant in the paradise to come. So, if ew are to achieve such a thing we must choose it willingly."
- [00:26] The trickster listened to every single word that they said. Their wide, golden eyes only getting wider on her Valmasian face as she rested the palm of her hands on to her cheeks. It was amazing what the Neries knew, and how much that it made her life that much more better. Whoever the dreamer is, they truly did know how to make life seem that much better. So, with every single statement made, she made sure to imply them to every day life.
- "The Dreamer sure does know their stuff. The dreamer is really amazing and I am glad that I can be involved in this. Ever since I started listening, I found it much better in my life to do what I can to make myself happy. It even got me a house away from this shit-state of a settlement and make new friends."
- The trickster sighed with content once again. All the teaching and lifestyle she used to live changed. She was doing her hardest to imply all five tenets of the Gray Church to her daily life, and it was working. Every single time she felt angry, she simply remembered the tenets that Syracuse taught her, and she made sure to preach them out and open alone to be more calm. In short, the happiness that she felt was truly magnificent.
- "Is there anything else you can teach?"
- (Maest Ruriko)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [00:37] Syracuse Fengari says, "I can teach many things Maest."
- [00:37] " It is quite interesting. ", he added with an interested look on his eyes.
- He smiles when he mention about the fact that he wants to join the illuminated, but everything that he said was so interesting and made so much sense that he has to hold himself to say how much he hates the illuminated for the fact that because of them, he lost a huge part of himself.
- The dream is in fact something that has a lot of secrets attached to it. Listening to Syracuse's words felt like he has just opened a treasure with a lot of precious jewelry in it.
- " I may have to write all of this precious information on a paper. Hehe I feel like i should not forget it. ", he affirmed in a neutral voice.
- Everything would have to be studied closely, because he did not understood very well. There is so much to learn about it. Which bring the boy's interests. He frowns :
- " What are the virtues? ", he asked.
- (Constantin)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [00:42] Syracuse Fengari says, "I've said enough for now Conny, to learn more you'll have to keep listening. As Maes has been doing."
- [00:43] Constantin says, "Understood."
- [00:45] Constantin says, "I will. "
