  1. Instructions originally from http://kb.lsi.com/KnowledgebaseArticle16266.aspx but that page is now down.
  2.
  3. This procedure allows overwriting a newer firmware+bios, and also switching from IR to IT and vice versa. The info in the LSI pdfs in docs/ doesn't have all this info.
  4.
  5. - create dos bootable USB stick - LSI recommends bootflashdos, but I found it didn't work but hpflash1 works
  6. - copy the firmware and utility to the USB stic
  7. - boot the machine with the USB stick
  8. - enter this command; it erases your BIOS; do not reboot after this or you brick the device.
  9. sas2flsh -o -e 6
  10. - enter this command; it flashes the firmware and BIOS to the controller
  11. sas2flsh -o -f <firmware_image> -b <bios_image>
  12.
  13. For multiple controllers,
  14. list:
  15. sas2flsh -listall
  16. flash:
  17. add "-c <number>" to the above sas2flsh commands
