Zero Ground 2

Private Johnson stared at the horizon across the highway. The weight of his khaki armor has put too much exhaustion in his body and his M4A1 Rifle with a grenade launcher under the barrel wasn't even helping. The visor in his helmet allows him to magnify his vision three times. From there, he could see the city far beyond that looked peaceful from the distance but he noticed a pillar of smoke rising vertically from the center of the city.
   "Scout reporting in, TacCom, do you copy?"
   "Go ahead, Scout."
   "City Zone Forty Six was under attack. I repeat, under attack. It was Code Red from here and by the looks of it, the attack took place not too long ago."
   "How bad?"
   "Situation is fucked up, sir."
   A long pause behind the line before the voice answered again.
    "Affirmative, sending a Remnant Brigade from the Order of Saint Pio. Hang on there, brother."
    "Yes, brother."

A boy in his early twenties ran across the pavement. Behind him, his girlfriend followed in the same pace as he. Their hands were locked onto each other. Around them, vehicles were exploding accompanied by shots and screams followed by wet explosions of gore. Across the street, they saw a man in his fifties. Thinning grey hair, white shirt and cream pants, his walking cane was on the ground. He could see the golden watch on his right forearm. The old man was clutching at his chest; his ribcage was torn open as if it had exploded. His lungs and heart is missing but why is he still alive remains a mystery. He coughed out a couple of blood before slumping his head on the wet pavement.
   The couple ran away; the girl screamed from all the nightmare while boy managed to be silent. He has to show her how strong he is and that he could protect her. Countless thoughts ran through his mind as they jogged past a fashion store; its mannequin was thrown outside of the glass windows. They walked around the fallen mannequin when suddenly, an explosion erupted from the left. They both turned to look but they regretted it.
   The boy was thrown to the ground with a loud thud, wind knocked out of his lungs as if somebody has obliterated it. He coughed out blood and a bone. Above him, he stared in horror as a Hellfire Marine from the 136th towers over him. The skeleton inside laughed at him. Its red armor shone in the light as well as the yellow trims and riveting. The Demon yelled inside the store and two of its brethren came out, each a mirror of the other; absolute horror straight from their nightmares.
   "Hey, I'm gonna rape that girl with my bayonet knife!" One of them says as he grabbed her by the arm and lifted her effortlessly. She squirmed with all her strength but failed to escape. "Hold her!"
   "No!" Yelled the boy, only to get shot in the knee. The Ragefire Rifle has utterly destroyed his pelvis and the rest of his lower body but he was still alive, which was a miracle. He glanced at what remains of his legs; a heap of butchered meat. His spinal cord still attached to it. He was still alive and weirdly enough, he doesn't feel anything.
   He watched in horror as a Hellfire Marine inserted a bayonet from his rifle to her vagina. Another Hellfire Marine was holding her hands upwards. She screamed in pain as her attacker repeated it again and again. She yelled and wailed as he watched; blood spilled from her uterus, spilling on the ground as she continued wailing. Unfortunately for her, she was still alive.
   The boy cried as death slowly touches him. He watched as the world around him darkened.

On the other side of the city, a girl held her teddy bear tight as she ran. Tears poured from her eyes, streaming down her cheeks. She was sobbing in every step. She watched earlier as her parents, both mom and dad, gets torn apart by a quartet of people that looked like cats. She could still remember their faces; orange furred, green eyes with a vertical black slit in the middle, their eyes outlined in red. A red strip ran to their forehead, pointed ears and most of all, long claws and those flames that danced around their bodies. She watched them gets torn, flesh after flesh destroyed.
   Her brother took her away from danger. They were running away when a person that looked like a fish appeared and sucked the air from his lips until he was blue and reduced to a heap of skin, literally. She ran alone, seeing horrors in every corner. Those skeletons in huge armors fired at people, the Demons in medieval armor slice people apart. She wonders what's next.
    Her answer came to her as a person, whose skin was so white to be of Human's, turned to her with dead black marble-like eyes.
   "Do you want to play?" He asked as it bent down. She could see her own scared reflection from its eyes.
   She carefully backed away but the figure spoke again.
   "It's rude not to answer when being asked. Oh well, I guess you don't need your tongue." His hand was as quick as lightning. He thrust his fingers inside the girl's mouth without even feeling it. As almost as instant, she saw her own tongue soaked in red blood. She tried to scream but only a wet gurgle came out. The Marionette Demon slapped the tongue across her face.


A Policeman crawled away, his left arm was missing and his right hand still gripping the gun tight. He glanced behind him as a Hellfire Marine rammed a Chainsaw down his spine. He yelled as the blade ate his flesh in searing pain and all of a sudden, he fell unconscious.
   To their left, a mother and her child ran across the street. An Insurgent sprinted towards them in quick strides. He took aim and fired, the head of the mother disappeared in a plume of gore. Then as quickly as it was, a Vampire sprinted towards the child and immediately tore its head off as soon as it gets close.
   A teenage girl yelled as she ran from a broken window. A duo of Dog people advanced to her. They sprinted towards her but she ran. When an Insurgent spotted her, he raised his rifle and fired at her pelvis, forcing her on her knees. The Inugami Yokai behind her began tearing her off.
   A trio of Policemen were firing at a duo of advancing Insurgents but the armed men didn't flinch. With a clench of his fist, Slasher advanced towards the patrol car and smashed his fist against it. The Policemen was thrown backwards, one of their colleagues was scraped to the ground as the police vehicle smashed him on the pavement ground. The remaining servants of justice watched in horror as the Insurgents closed in on them.
   "Hold on boys," A filtered voice behind them says. Both Insurgents turned and with a salute, they returned their gaze back at the Policemen. "You wanna give these guys the satisfaction of quick deaths?"
   An Insurgent appeared to view. He holds a nozzled rifle connected to a duo of tanks strapped behind his back. He approached the downed Policemen and aimed.
   "Scorch team deployed." He says with grim satisfaction in his tone. The Policemen watched at him with teary scared eyes. "BURN." Followed by a scream and the sound of meat roasting.

Sandro d'Arquebus let out a howl as he grabbed a boy by his throat. The boy was a fifteen year old with necklaces too many to be counted. He wore a denim vest and black shirt underneath, blue pants and black runners.
   "So, they say you are an internet sensation. What's your name?" Sandro asked as he stared at the boy's eyes. "Jones, John, James?" He asked. "Ah, yes it's James Mico. You who thought who can sing." The boy felt hurt of what he said. He grabbed the hand of the Vampire and yelled, "Hey, just to tell you I have three albums coming out in a row, my fans loves me and they all adore me!"
   "But you are a bully in your school, am I not?" He asked the boy as he nods at a Vampire behind him. The Vampire nods back and left. He returned shortly with five bloodied heads at his hand.
   "These are your friends, aren't they not?" Then the boy yelled which annoys Sandro. With a quick movement, he tore his throat from his neck and tossed him from the six-storey building. "I hate those kids even more than those kids in those armors who commits massacres."
   The Vampire who fetched the heads laughed.
   "I know what you mean."
