Background ; Hoa-Kim was 3 when her parents split,as her mother was pregnant with another man's child. Her mother moved out of the house, and had her child alone whilst her husband was in korea. As a child, Hoa would always see the little girl running around, who she did not at the time understand was her half sister. She tried to talk to Yen-mai, but she was a reserved child. When Hoa was 11, her mother left Vietnam as soon as her father had introduced his girlfriend to others, and Hoa was confused.
