  5. This Privacy Policy explains what data the **AutoRole Bot** Discord application (the "Bot") collects, how it is used, and your choices regarding that data. By using the Bot, you agree to the practices described below.

  7. We are committed to collecting **only the minimum data required** for the Bot to function.

  9. ## 1. Data We Collect

  11. The Bot stores configuration data on a **per-server (guild)** basis. This may include:

  13. - **Server (guild) IDs** — to associate settings with the correct server.
  14. - **Role IDs** — for join roles, age roles, timed roles, tag roles, connected roles, reaction roles, and VIP custom roles.
  15. - **Channel and message IDs** — for reaction role menus and VIP custom channels.
  16. - **User IDs** — only where required for specific features, such as:
  17. - Members with active **temporary or timed roles** (stored with an expiry timestamp so the role can be removed automatically).
  18. - Owners and shared members of **VIP custom roles and custom channels**.
  19. - **Feature configuration** — durations, tag strings, color/icon settings, and similar options you set up.

  21. ### What We Do **Not** Collect

  23. - We do **not** read, store, or log the content of your messages. The Bot does not use the Message Content intent.
  24. - We do **not** collect email addresses, payment information, IP addresses, or any data outside of Discord.
  25. - We do **not** sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing.

  27. ## 2. How We Use Data

  29. Collected data is used **solely** to provide the Bot's features, including:

  31. - Automatically assigning and removing roles based on your configuration.
  32. - Tracking when temporary/timed roles should expire.
  33. - Managing reaction role menus and VIP custom roles/channels.
  34. - Persisting your server's settings between restarts.

  36. ## 3. Data Storage and Security

  38. - Configuration data is stored in **per-guild JSON files** on the server hosting the Bot.
  39. - Data is cached in memory for performance and written to disk using atomic writes.
  40. - We take reasonable measures to protect stored data, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

  42. ## 4. Data Retention and Deletion

  44. - Settings are retained while the Bot is active in your server.
  45. - **Removing the Bot** from your server, or deleting the associated configuration, will remove that server's stored settings.
  46. - Temporary/timed role records are automatically removed once the role expires.
  47. - To request manual deletion of your server's data, contact us through the support channel listed on the Bot's profile or listing.

  51. The Bot operates within Discord and relies on the Discord API. Your use of Discord is governed by the [Discord Privacy Policy](https://discord.com/privacy) and [Discord Terms of Service](https://discord.com/terms). We are not responsible for Discord's data practices.

  55. The Bot is not directed at individuals under the minimum age required to use Discord in their country. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone below that age.
