Quick & Dirty 10bit Video playback guide

  1. 1. Uninstall ANY codec or codec pack you might have. This includes MPC-HC, CCCP, ffdshow, madVR, Haali, K-lite, CoreAVC. Use the CCCP Insurgent to find them. (http://www.cccp-project.net/download.php?type=cccpi)

  3. 2. Download and Install latest x86 version of MPC-BE (http://sourceforge.net/projects/mpcbe/files/MPC-BE/) Go with the installer.

  5. 3. Install the LAV Filters (http://code.google.com/p/lavfilters/downloads/list). Use the Installer (EXE). Make sure to install the Video, Audio, and Splitter fliters (X86 versions).

  7. 4. Download xy-vsfilter (http://code.google.com/p/xy-vsfilter/) Follow the install directions on the main page.

  9. 5. Open MPC-BE. Go to the Options. under Internal Filters, deselect EVERYTHING. (You might keep the DVD source filters.)

  11. 6. Still in the MPC-BE Options, go under Playback. DESELECT "Auto-load subtitles"

  13. 7. Still in Options. Go to Output. If you have an onboard or shit-tier video card, select Overlay Mixer. Otherwise, go with EVR Sync (or go install madVR).

  15. 8.Still in Options. Go to External Filters. Click on Add Filter... Find & add "LAV Video Decoder", "LAV Audio Decoder", and "DirectVobSub" (NOT THE AUTO-LOADING VERSION). Make sure they're all set to "Prefer" and checked.

  18. This isn't gonna be the prettiest or best looking, but it'll perform on all but the lowest-tier CPUs.
