  1. A certain sister is looking for inspiration.
  2. She has obtained it from several sources whenever she has suffered from a creative block. So this time she decides to sneak a peek from the matriarch's eternally unfinished novel. After all, its author is away.
  3. >The story is set in 1990's Hong Kong.
  4. >The protagonist is a successful foreign physician named Lita.
  5. >She's married to the even more successful business tycoon Lin Lao.
  6. >She fights prejudice and his family with claw and tooth.
  7. >His family wants to terminate the relationship on the grounds that her womb is barren.
  8. >She goes to a witch, who assists her but warns her of a terrible price.
  9. >A child is born, and is named Lu An.
  10. >The child is mischievous, grandpa Pao Pao thinks she's an evil spirit.
  11. >Her pranks are mostly harmless but humiliating.
  12. >But some incidents happen that make Lita doubt.
  13. >Like that time the school's bitch princess broke a leg tripping on a too convenient loose floorboard plank.
  14. >Or when the music teacher who rejected her went deaf due to a faulty speaker.
  15. >Unbeknownst to her, Lu An has been seducing his father.
  16. >At age fourteen she's aware of her charms.
  17. >Her father's habit of spoiling her rotten didn't help things either.
  18. >Lita finally discovers the affair, and tries to regain her lover by exposing the evil child.
  19. >Cornered, Lu An sets up a complex trap that leaves her mother wounded and at her mercy.
  20. >Things go downhill from there, and soon it's mother vs. daughter, armed with shards of glass, as the useless object of both's desire lies unconscious.
  21. The family van grumbles onto the driveway. The sister decides that enough is enough and leaves the notebook. For the next days, however, she can not bear to look at her mother in the eye, for she has seen too much into her mind. And she can't help but wonder how much does she really know.
