Re: Ocean Island Night Owls

I am writing with intent to apply for the Night Owl position advertised on the Ocean Island Inn website.

I know I would be a great addition to the Ocean Island staff because I am a very enthusiastic, outgoing, compassionate person with a keen interest in the wellbeing of others. I have a fabulous sense of humour and I will always find the humour in every situation. I like to live optimistically and encourage others to do the same. I love to make conversation and encourage others to come out of their shell.

I have been working in the Customer Service Industry for a number of years. From this experience, I have developed exceptional skills and qualities such as a polite, helpful attitude, a long term dedication, and the ability to deal with unexpected issues in a professional manner. I enjoying satisfying a customer’s needs and being as helpful as possible. I love to make people happy! Paired with my experience in customer service, my ambition to become involved with hospitality and tourism gives me a great advantage as a committed, engaged, and inspired employee. I am eager to be a part of the hostelling family and experience the community of Victoria as I wish to attend college in the city in the upcoming years.

After spending time in at the Kelowna International Hostel, I have fallen in love with the hostel lifestyle. I will fit in perfectly with the existing hostel staff because I have experience living with, and cooking and cleaning for a large volume of people. I also have experience with group organization and conflict resolution. As an employee, I am very organized, self-reliant, and an excellent team worker. I love to come up with fresh ideas and I am a good problem solver. I have experience working night shifts without issue and am very flexible with my work schedule. I am intermediately proficient in French with the intent to become bilingual.
