— PERSONALITY : yoon seunghwan is the biggest enigma to ever blossom in the world. with a certain grace that leads people to assume she is shy, a conclusion which is only supported by her naturally wide, doe eyes and overall demure vibe she gives off, she's the type of person you think you've figured out in ten seconds flat. however, the opposite couldn't be the most true. while she seems innocent and youthful in her looks, the one word to wholly encompass who seunghwan is would be BLUNT. she doesn't believe in sugarcoating the truth, and is the most likely to tell you the truth straight to your face. not in the usual sense, though, her candor is more of a silent and unseen weapon always engaged yet never noticed. she's often mistaken as a person who is easy to push around and take advantage of, but on whiff of her true nature puts them off of any notion of that idea. she has a blatant way of degrading people without any malice -- this fact actually ensured that she only had a tight knit group of friends throughout her whole life. in addition to this, seunghwan lives up to the idea of "what i want, i get." the one thing about her appearance that is true is that she is slightly softspoken; however, the air of confidence and self-assurance that she commands honestly doesn't require her to raise her voice much to get people to listen to her. she's not necessarily the smartest of people, but there is a certain eloquence about her and the way she can string words seamlessly together to leave the other party speechless that is quite admirable. seunghwan is practically the queen of organization, and always has things planned down to the smallest detail. her one track mind is both a blessing and a curse: she can accomplish whatever she wants when she dedicates enough time to it, but she sometimes has trouble seeing other things that could be of importance; in fact, she can be a bit of a control freak. she borderlines on domineering, and often has to reign herself back in during certain situations. another defining trait seunghwan carries with pride is how, for a lack of a better word, SHAMELESS she is. she's practically afraid of nothing, and will face everything head on, taking it with stride. the motto "i never regretted the things i did; only the things i didn't do," couldn't apply to the way she lives more perfectly. she's not the brighest bulb in the box, but she's definitely a hard worker. the simple unabashed way she asks questions (ranging from what time period world war ii occurred in to how to pronounce a certain word in korean) has a way of making people jealous. she's the kind of person to crack the most amusing jokes with the straightest face, and send memes during the most serious situations. because of how controlling she can be, she more often than not ends up acting like an unobtrusive mother, and is fiercely loyal to those select few she deems as her friends.

— BACKGROUND : born and raised for most of her childhood to a korean father and an english mother, seunghwan's life wasn't exactly the hardest. her parents were well off, and were able to provide her and her twin sister, YOON SEUNGHEE, with a pleasant way of living in which they didn't need to want for anything. they lived in england for the first 12 years of her life, before they decided to move back to korea due to her father's job; specifically, seoul. a few years later, after adjusting to the change in scenery, seunghwan entered high school with her sister, although they did end up drifting apart into different friendship circles. after a while, she was able to form a small group of friends, who she ended up hanging out with. many people were too intimidated to approach her because of her "perfect" aura, and as a result she ended up sticking to what was familiar. after a while, though, she did manage to pin down a perfect boyfriend, who she dated happily for 2 years -- 2 years in which she managed to expand her horizons and get close to his group of friends as well. at the end of that time, though, they had an EXTREMELY messy breakup which left both sides in anguish. seunghwan chose to deal with it by throwing herself into her schoolwork, and after a year, she managed to graduate at the top of her class and go on to fulfill her dreams of becoming a doctor.

— PERSONALITY : if there was a word to describe jeon jeongguk at a first glance, it would be shy. like, REALLY shy. he's definitely a hard case to crack, with how he practically quakes in fear any time someone he's not familiar with approaches him, and it almost seems as if it takes centuries for him to warm up to you. he's the type of person to make you work for his friendship, and you have to put in actual effort to make him comfortable around him -- but when he deems you worthy enough to experience the real him, it honestly really pays off. jeongguk seems quiet and insecure, but when you get to know him, its obvious that he's just a gigantic goofball (and maybe a bit of a flirt) at heart -- his shining persona makes it REALLY hard not to fall in love with him, as many have taken note. he's not close to many people because of how shy and awkward he acts around them, but he does have a close knit group of friends who he loves more than anything in the world. he would be willing to do ANYTHING for them -- because when he loves, he does it completely and without any conditions; in that sense, him and seunghwan are very similar. jeongguk needs to feel safe and reassured before he opens up to show how weird he is (and lets be honest, he's really weird) but if you're truly there for him, that doesn't take much prying. he's definitely on the competitive side, and is willing to fight for what he wants and/or thinks is right. however, he's firm in his belief that its more about the game than the actual outcome, and would always choose enjoying things and living in the moment over winning.

— LOVE STORY (2007) :
  × BACKGROUND | if you were to be honest, people were more than surprised when they realized that seunghwan and jeongguk were dating. with practically polar opposite personalities, they seemed more like the type to clash than to get along -- however, their close friends did kind of see it coming. they met in the basic way, through friends, and the first few times they interacted, jeongguk ended up hiding behind his own friends and avoiding more than the simple "hi, how are you?" when greeting seunghwan and her friends.

  × HOW THEY GET CLOSER | after a while of being shoved in the same room because of mutual friends, seunghwan decides he's rather interesting, and ends up approaching him to actually get to know him. the conversation she strikes up falls on deaf ears, but she continues on about the most random things -- mostly things she enjoys, just to keep him company while all his friends were seemingly preoccupied with her friends. jeongguk, on the other hand, is one part deathly afraid that someone he's never talked to before is holding a discussion with him, and one part completely enthralled by the way seunghwan speaks about the most mundane things and still manages to make them seem interesting. even though he doesn't say much the first time they speak, she continues to approach him any time she sees him and slowly, he begins to open up to her. jeongguk admires the way she's able to do most things effortlessly while he practically pisses his pants even thinking of it, and he loves how she makes him more open with himself and others.

  × FIRST DATE / RELATIONSHIP | the first time jeongguk decides to ask seunghwan out, he's such a blithering mess that he forgets to tell her that its even a date as opposed to a friendly outing. he's not sure what to do, and he's basically balling his eyes out to his friends an hour before he's supposed to pick her up because he's so nervous he might mess something up. it takes A LOT of hyping up from anyone and everyone present to even get him out of the house, but when he finally manages to pick seunghwan up (in his mom's car, not that he'd ever tell her that) he's risen above hysterical panicking, and is just focused on not fucking anything up -- because he really, REALLY likes her. he ends up taking her to the beach near his home, because its something he's always wanted to do with a girl, and what kind of girl doesn't enjoy a romantic walk near the ocean? apparently, not seunghwan, but she can tell that he's more nervous than anything, so she doesn't mention it. after they just walk and talk, they end up eating dinner at a fancy restaurant (one that yoongi had picked for the both of them) before jeongguk decides to "pop the question" -- of course, seugnhwan agrees, and they become official.

  × HOW IT FELL APART | after two years of dating, jeongguk and seunghwan were thick as thieves, and nobody believe that there was anything that could tear them apart -- unfortunately for them, they were proven severely wrong. actually, when everything was ruined, it was honestly just a big misunderstanding that was never given the chance to be cleared up. one day, someone had approached seunghwan and told her that they thought jeongguk was cheating on her. she waved off the accusation as nothing almost instantaneously, because there is a certain trust that comes with relationships, and she had complete faith in her boyfriend. she thought that whoever was spreading such "lies" wouldn't bother coming back to her after seeing how undeterred she was, but he came again -- and this time with pictures. he even had a video, of jeongguk in heated makeout session with someone who DEFINITELY was not her. embarrassed and heartbroken, she broke it off with him immediately, not even giving him (or anyone else) the reason as to why she wanted to end it. when he came to try and tell her that whatever she was mad about was nothing, she turned him, and later his friends, away, dedicating herself solely to her studies to smother her sorrows. the lack of explanation and communication left both sides -- jeongguk's friends, and seunghwan's friends, thinking the other was in the wrong, and had jeongguk and seunghwan themselves in a certain state of heartbreak that is hard to move past, no matter how much effort you put into trying to.


— LOVE STORY (2017) :
  × BEG | needless to say, jeongguk and seunghwan aren't on the best terms. in fact, if you were to place them in the same room, they would probably end up at each others throats simply because there was so much left unresolved between them. after they broke up, both sides were left devastated and feeling as if they were cheated out of something. when they noticed each other at the wedding, they were more than surprised; and, as it seems, probably ready to either murder each other or jump each others bones. seunghwan, still affected by the way they had ended things, had finally sort of forgotten the pain he had caused her, and seeing him after all the years -- more handsome and sure of himself than ever, somehow struck a chord within her, leaving her angry at anything and everything related to him, and not really sure why. jeongguk, on the other hand, had gotten his shyness under control and was still coping with trying to understand why she decided to end things with him. he knows that years later, he's still kind of in love with her, but he's not going to beg for forgiveness when he did nothing wrong. instead, the moment he sees her, he's ready to have some fun, and thinks there is nothing better than teasing her -- especially when her reactions are as cute as ever.

  × MID | after a while, though, seunghwan decides that the best course of action is to just ignore jeongguk and pretend as if he's not there, focusing on the wedding and its preparations. after all, if she manages to get through the seemingly endless festivities, then she'll REALLY never have to see him again. unfortunately for her, jeongguk has different ideas; in fact, he seems set to annoy her more than anyone else ever has. and so, they continue to have a somewhat playful, somewhat "i will kill you in your sleep" banter, where he (usually) flirts with her / says something offensive or degrading, and she retaliates with either silence or a witty remark (depending on how antsy she's feeling.) seunghwan can't help but feel as if he's not the same guy she used to know and love, and the thought that he's changed so much -- even though she knows it wouldn't be logical for him to be the same, because 10 years is a long time -- makes her kind of sad. what she doesn't know is that his outrageously different attitude is a defense mechanism of sorts for him, to prevent himself from getting hurt by her again.

  × END | a lot ends up going down after seunghwan comes to the realization that the "different" jeongguk she thought she was seeing was actually just him being really, really hurt. they end up discussing why exactly they broke up ten years ago, and end up actually contemplating why they're so attached to each other even after such a long period of time. the reason they actually end up doing that, though, is because seunghwan's sister, SEUNGHEE, approached her with an interesting tidbit of info about why they're relationship failed. her twin admits guiltily that when seunghwan found the pictures and caught whiff of a rumor that jeongguk wasn't the most loyal, it was really just him mistaking the twins for each other, and seunghee coming on to him after a mishap with her own boyfriend. at this point, seunghwan is full of mixed emotions -- betrayal, because she couldn't believe her own sister would do something like that to her, and guilt, because she never gave jeongguk the chance to say his side of the story, and let them both live with pain that could have been easily resolved with a simple conversation. however, seunghwan manages to move past the hatred she directs towards her sister, and jeongguk and her end up finally rekindling the love they had always had for each other.
