- Preq: Starting class.
- Level 1: The wizard begins with the ability to scribe scrolls, scribing a scroll requires the material ingredients in order to do so. A scroll is a one use magical item. A scroll can be scribed depending on the caster level, the caster must be of a level equal to the scribed spell’s level. Scribing a scroll has a base 50% chance to succeed. Subtract -5 for each caster level the spell is. Increase it by 5% for every Wizard level the player has. For every 5 scrolls successfully scribed, the wizard increases their scribing level by 1. Add the scribing level to the chance to determine success.
- Additionally, Wizards begin with the ability to cast magic missile. This spell is basic and merely requires a standard action to cast, deals relatively low damage, but is a guaranteed hit. Magic missile phases out after traveling 100 feet.
- Level 2: Apprentice’s hand. The wizard is capable of conjuring a magical, and invisible hand. This is treated as a spell, thus, the wizard will use energy to support it. The hand is capable of moving within 30 feet of the wizard, allowing the wizard to attack a target from 30 feet away with a weapon. The hand will automatically fade after attacking a foe. (CD: 4) The wizard can only use one-handed weapons with the hand.
- Level 3: Spell range. The wizard can double the range of his/her spell at the cost of taking one additional round to charge the spell. Additionally, area of effect spells have their range extended by 50%(Half the spell’s normal range added to itself)
- Level 4: Arcane bond. The wizard may create an arcane bond with a weapon, ring, or amulet. These items will increase the effectiveness of his/her spells. If an arcane bond is destroyed, another can be crafted. The wizard may only have one arcane item crafted at once, his allies may also use the item as well as him. Wizards also add +5% to crafting all magical items. +10% at level 10.
- Arcane items can either be: An item that enhances proficiency in an element, an item that grants the ability to enhance a single spell, or a passive version of one of the arcane feats they gain. They may also create an arcane item that is enchanted with a spell of their knowledge; allowing them to store “charges” to evoke the item and cast the spell that way, rather than rely on drawing power from their minds.
- Level 5: Wizards learn how to quicken spells. A wizard may cast a spell one round shorter than normal, if chosen to cast a spell that normally takes a standard amount of time to cast, the wizard can chain a second spell. (CD:3)
- Level 6: Empower spell. The wizard may add a +6 boost to attack power on an empowered spell. An empowered spell takes 1 additional round to cast, and they are generally more deadly in comparison to normal spells. (CD: 3)
- Level 7: Dual spell augments. The wizard can now use two spell augments on one spell, it takes the amount of time both combined would be to cast a dual augmented spell, divided by 1. (1 round for most spells.). (CD: 5)
- Level 8: Repel magic. The wizard has become so adept at magic, he can shield an ally or himself from most of the detrimental effects of most spells. The wizard can place the barrier in any place he/she sees fit, it forms a large wall of energy in the desired area. The wizard can cast this at the cost of one full round, the barrier becomes greater at level 10, and gains the capability of ridding of all but the strongest of magic. (CD: 10)
- Level 9: Maximize. The wizard can spend one additional round to completely maximize one spell. A maximized spell gains all the magic augmentations listed above. (CD: 6) He may also bestow one of his/her magic augmentations on an ally casting a spell for one round.
- Level 10: A wizard can now utilize any magical item, even if he/she isn’t meant to use such and/or it goes against alignment. (Though the deity they worship may not respect this, and that staff of Abyssal Summoning...you may want to be careful.)
- The wizard’s spell augments, including those he learned without gaining wizard levels, will also be able to be casted one round less than normal.
