  1. [13:15] He was soon to have an audience, enough reason to stay in this dangerous frozen highland. Yet, he still had a number of issues that plagued at him. Sors and Sinael discovered him so easily, as though hardly worth the trouble -- Granted, this has become a recurring trend as of the late.
  2.
  3. So often, had he come to warp the shadows to cloak his person -- To hide, but just as often, they had betrayed him. There had to be another way...
  4. A nigh-arena stage held Ronan's attention, and soon after his hovering persona.
  5. Along the perimeter? Five pits were ignited to better contrast his form against the brightly colored snow.
  6.
  7. " If the shadows can only deceive and distract, then perhaps I've been looking at it all wrong. "
  8.
  9. Maybe it wasn't the darkness that he should've swathed himself in... But the light? The ignited flames could become the very catalyst for this theory!
  10.
  11. The shine of light against snow was not unnoticed by Ronan at all, but he didn't really stop to consider its applicability until now.
  12. " If... Light does reflect off of things like this. Then, perhaps wrapping one within it, no... Bending it around one, can better cloak than darkness alone. "
  13.
  14. " If I can pull light, whether it'd be through Illusionary practice alone, or through gravity to match -- Both. Definitely both... From my surroundings... Then maybe..." He lowered himself for landfall against the frozen soil, kneeling for it to rest his fingers lax across the surface.
  15. In reactive reverence, mana oozing at the fingertips wrapped around his digits to emulate the appearance of the frost.
  16.
  17. " I can vastly push the visual capabilities of this art. "
  18.
  19. There was strain, and the constant sapping of his reserve. He couldn't pull off such a feat at the drop of the theory - No, this was something that'd take practice. It was akin to summoningforth a gravitational singularity. A surplus of energy... All doused into single point -- Weighing down on the space around it until it began to siphon away at its surroundings. However, Ronan didn't allow it to carry out its typical lifespan to expiration, but rather directed the very pull it could acquire. It was a funneling application that encircled up his fingers - Up the arm, entirely.
  20.
  21. The gravity mage refused his very creation subsistence, to which it only fought harder against him.
  22. The atmosphere seemed to warp in his presence -- A faceless miasma that picked up debris in the looming distance. A whistling hiss sung for the world abroad, heightening in pitch until it dulled for an ambient variety.
  23. With no debris to consume within the bottomless gullet of Ronan's craft, it strengthened enough to suction at what it could: Light.
  24.
  25. Much like illusionism alone would emulate the loss of opacity by mimicking the user's surroundings, gravity was pushed to its extreme. Difficult as it may've been, Ronan had to keep his black hole was ebbing away at him as well, shielding and bombarding his very being at the same time did not bode for the best possibilities.
  26.
  27. Where the extremes of gravity applied on a minute level couldn't quite reach, illusionism would complement -- Further attempting to emulate the world around the practitioner. The fires surrounding Ronan no longer distinguished him, for it was their very light that began to vanquish his image.
  28.
  29. The coming of evening, only altered the matter of focus between the two elements at-play.
  30.
  31. "So long has thought been drawn to the physical application of the magical art... Many have forgotten the metaphysical application of it -- The 'Utility' of such claimed useless power, ultimately trumps raw combat ability without the refinement and focus necessary to be competent. "
  32. Ronan was only boasting his own ego -- For someone as fearfulas he, he knew more than anything than to challenge the potent.
  33. … As he was...
  34.
  35. If only, for the briefest moments -- He'd fade in and out of view...
  36. But ultimately, it drained him... It hurt him.
  37. The burns were still aching to this day, still healing.
  38.
  39. The singularity's catalyst had stopped feeding, but rather collapsed on it-- pulling back in an attempt to neutralize its siphon.
  40.
  41. "... Perhaps, I should test my theory via other methods. Just how effective can gravity be, when entangled with the deceptive arts.
  42.
