Relationships with other characters

Grey: Sara's love for Grey is one of the game's most important plot points. Although in Sara's own route, Grey will come to question it, the truth is that in no storyline does her dedication to him ever really waver. Sara is committed to keeping Grey safe, and in some storylines, this committment becomes a psychopathic obsession. She becomes jealous very easily, but she usually directs her anger towards whoever she thinks is trying to take Grey away from her, instead of towards Grey himself. In some other storylines, her reaction to Grey pushing her away is a little bit more subdued, and she retreats into herself, wallowing in self-pity.

Bro: Sara has known Bro since they were both young, and she has a strong friendship with him. She doesn't put up with his sarcasm as well as Grey does, and sometimes Bro's joking gets on her nerves. Nonetheless, she likes Bro a great deal, and feels better knowing that he's around to help out.

Maya: In Maya's route, Sara comes to despise Maya so much that she tries to torture her death. In the storylines where Grey doesn't become romantically linked with Maya, however, Sara remains more or less friendly towards her. She is a little bit discouraged that her friendliness is met with coldness, and she does come to dislike Maya a little bit, but she doesn't reveal it too much so as not to cause strife. She does of course feel a twinge of jealousy at how much Maya dotes on Grey.

Naomi: Sara instantly dislikes Naomi from the moment they meet and makes her feelings plain in all their interactions. In Naomi's route, Sara makes Naomi the target of her homicidal tendencies, but in the other storylines, her hatred never goes much further than coldness and catty comments. In Sara's route, she even comes to respect Naomi's leadership enough to get over her original animosity. Still, between her jealousy over how much time Grey spends with Naomi, and her own distaste for being bossed around, Sara is firmly anti-Naomi in most storylines. Because Sara is one of the few people willing to go out on supply runs for the church survivors, there is plenty of Sara-Naomi interaction, and much of it is tense.

Elly: Sara finds Elly charming. Since she doesn't consider Elly a real threat to Grey's affections, Sara never really has jealousy issues here, even when Grey spends a lot of time with her. Sara gladly helps Elly out whenever she needs it, and in many storylines, the two develop a friendship.

Jun: Sara is mostly neutral toward Jun except in Jun's path, where Sara is (of course) jealous and spiteful of her. In the other storylines, their interaction is fairly minimal, and Sara never develops very strong feelings one way or the other. The two women are quite opposite to one another though, and Sara is a little bit perplexed by how Jun lives and acts.


Pre Z-Day

Sara grew up in the same small town where Grey and Bro grew up. Being a year younger than them, she was a grade behind them in school. Still, she has been friends with them since she was 12.

Sara has always had a crush on Grey, and those feelings only deepened in high school. When she was 15, they become boyfriend and girlfriend, and have remained so ever since. She worked hard in school to graduate a year early, just so she could follow Grey to college. They now share an apartment together.

Sara loves baseball. In high school, she played on the boy's team as a second fielder, much to the chagrin of the small town's more conservative elements. Growing up, she was often mocked for being a tomboy. Though she tries not to show it, that mocking has left an impression, and is the root of her low self-confidence. In college, she has continued her dedication to sports, playing on the women's softball team at her university.

Grey's love for Sara waned during the few months leading up to the events of the demo, and he planned to break up with her. Unbeknownst to Grey, Sara was quite aware of his plans, having overheard a conversation between him and Bro about it.


From Z-Day to Day 1

Sara's movements during Z-day are covered by the demo. Following the events of the demo, Sara has remained barricaded inside her apartment with Grey, whiling the time away by playing card games with him. She has not left the apartment at all.

The psychological and emotional strain of the situation has taken its toll, and though she does love Grey, since Z-day they have spent much of their time bickering over inconsequential things.

During the week they have spent inside, Sara has made numerous attempts to contact her family and friends by telephone and internet -- all failed. She has also been monitoring radio and television broadcasts with Grey. The broadcasts ceased on the third day after Z-Day, but they continue to check radio and television networks every couple hours.
