  4. BODY
  5. hello my new friend! I saw your posting earlier and thought, mayhaps, that I could be of service. I have been a scholar of the Lost Peoples since my childhood and while my knowledge is far from complete, I may have enough for your needs. Unfortunately much of my information is stored in physical (or more ephemeral than electronic) means, so I may need to arrange for something more personal in the future, but I can see what can be done. May you tread light upon the Centipede's back, my friend, and let me know if you are amicable.

  11. Very interesting indeed. Thank you for contacting me about my previous posts. Consider me interested in anything you might have to share about the subject, if and when you're willing to share it. Time isn't an issue, and travel can be arranged, given how sensitive these issues are. If not immediately, then as soon as I am able.

  17. excellent! I will gather what I can and send it over to you once it is complete. (^▽^) I may have to consult with my Illustrious Patron, so it could take some time, you understand. I'm afraid I do not have as *much* information on the Lost Native Peoples of the North American continent, but any information is good information. In the meantime, if anyone else contacts you and says that they were sent by Chiaki Spirit-Sister, that's me! We will speak again soon, my friend.

  23. I plan on doing some research into the North American Lost Peoples on my own time if I'm able, so that isn't a problem at all. I'll keep that in mind, though. If anybody contacts you and names Grace Silver-Tongue, that'll be me. Hopefully hear from you soon, and good luck.

  29. here's the first of the files I could get transcribed, I am unsure how much use it will be to you, but it has some interesting implications, I think. it has been translated from its original language, so it may not be completely clear, unfortunately, but it was what our Illustrious Patron could provide. symbols with multiple meanings have had all their meanings included.

  37. This is a place of great [Importance/Reverence/History], but not of honour. Something [Sleeps/Waits/Lives] here, and it must not be [Awakened/Freed/Witnessed]. Know this; that once you [Look Upon/Are Made Aware Of] the Dread Koshchei, it [Looks Upon/Is Made Aware Of] you, as well. It will reach out with its [Decayed/Wounded/Tainted (by the Wyrm)] claws and draw you to it. We will stand as Dread Koshchei’s last jailers or fall dead in our duty. We pray only to Gaia that our [Fellows/Blood-Related/Kinfolk] will survive to carry on this vigil.

  43. Fascinating, and ominous. Here’s hoping that whatever is sleeping where this was found is still sleeping… it seems like the Lost People of this region were charged with something very important when the war broke out, and kept going until they were wiped out. Dutiful, to say the least. I wonder if their Kinfolk did survive and if so, if there might be some remaining blood in them. I’ll hold onto this, and investigate if I end up getting the chance. Currently en route to what might be a North American point of interest.

  50. it is good to hear you could be finding things of interest! i am continuing to comb through the archives. (^▽^) i did find something from closer to your location in my searching, so i wanted to send it right away! it's not first-hand from the Lost Peoples themselves, unfortunately, but it might be useful.

  56. I pray this letter reaches you well and blessed, my *Tenko.* I wish to inform you of a strange happening I witnessed while searching for the rogue tsunami-spirit as requested; it was quite peculiar and one of your blessed stature may find it worthy of thought.
  57.
  58. While ranging along the external coast of this island (so strange to be seeing the ocean from the other side! I like to think that if I look out at the waters hard enough, I can see home.) I came upon what I thought must have been the edge of a bawn. Eager to meet the Sunset Peoples first hand and ask them their thoughts on the recent events, I sent my spirit-partner ahead to announce my presence. But what came to greet me was not friendly at all. A strange beast (I thought at first it was a Same-Bito, or one of their local cousins, but it lacked their distinctive features) rose from the sea and told me I was to leave! After I greeted them so politely and with grace, too. When pressed, it threatened to drown me in the sea. I decided to leave.
  59.
  60. On my way out, I did manage to find a few small artefacts on the beach, probably washed up by the tsunami that came through this area a few months previous. I will be bringing them home to place in the Archives, though they do not seem to be of real power; a few bone fragments with glyphs carved into them, a broken cedar mask by one of the the local Indian peoples (I think it depicts a dog or wolf), and a stone with the Sunset People symbol for "dawn" or "sunlight" engraved on it.

  66. Ah yes, excellent work. If this is the same island I’m thinking of, I may well be in the in the area as we speak. I’ll do some additional research into the septs of the area if I’m able, and see if I can’t discern the nature of these entities and the place they’re guarding, if not up close, from a distance.
  67.
  68. In addition, today I was fortunate (or unfortunate) enough to have the chance to visit a place that is believed to be haunted by the Lost Peoples, or at least the spirit that called the place sacred. Truth be told, I’m lucky to have gotten out alive, as the place is rumored to kill those who venture near it. The rain grew unbearable the closer we got to it, and the lightning seemed to be taking warning shots at us. The death of a Tainted One in the area seemed to momentarily appease them enough for me and mine to escape without much more than a scare.

  74. how interesting!! i would be interested in hearing about the things you encounter, as well. the Lost Peoples were never common here, and i have mostly things brought in from elsewhere to go on for information. perhaps one day we can meet in person to exchange stories and information. do you intend to devote yourself full-time to historical study of the Lost Peoples? there are some elders in my area who are willing to offer "scholarships" of a sort to those looking deeply. let me know what you think.
  75.
  76. i wish that our Illustrious Patron was more willing to speak about these things. She once stood as the Illustrious Patron of a whole group of the Lost Peoples, but it pains her to remember, i think. perhaps other Illustrious patrons would be more open to such things? i am mostly thinking out loud (as it were) about this, though.

  82. I believe I am dedicating myself to the study of the Lost Ones, at this point. Almost all of my troop has had some kind of chance connection, including myself. At this point, I believe perhaps it is my calling. I think, if I am able to get to where you are, I might take you up on that offer.
  83.
  84. That’s fascinating. We’ve had an encounter with one of those Patrons, but he was less than hospitable to us. I can’t say I don’t understand why. He did speak to us, however, briefly, though not much of import was said that I’m not sworn to secrecy about.
