Leaf Operation Department:
The leaf department of BATB is responsible for tobacco growing, green leaf brushing and packing, production and procurement. BATB attains almost 80% of their leaf from their own cultivation. The
leaf department is involved in cultivation and buying flue-cured tobacco.
 Finance Department:
Finance department is responsible to evaluate the economic performance of the organization. BAT
strictly applies the budget as part of the strategic plan to go for operation activities. Finance
department audits the expenditure at a regular interval to ensure that rules and regulations are
properly maintained.
Accounting Department:
The accounting department situated at Dhaka is headed by the production accountant. Under him there are six
assistant production accountant working. The deport has been divided into seven sections.
IT Department:
Information technology department was mainly acting as a supporting service for all the other
functions of BAT. As the emergence of super information highway and other technology advancement
made the business world more competitive, BAT also made necessary adjustment towards the
changes and in continuation with the process, IT was made a separate department at February 2000. Marketing Department:
Trade marketing and distribution department identifies the area in which best practice must be
achieved to reach organizational goals.
HR Department:
To develop the most vital element of the organization which is the human resource, BATB has put in a
lot of efforts to respond to various charges and problems though effective implemention and
formulation of human resource strategies through the HR department.
