  1. Virtual Console Reviews
  2.
  3. Today I will be reviewing Super Mario World, for both the Wii U, and the Nintendo 3DS. I will review it based on multiple things: What changed from the original, what they passed up on, and the controls that have been improved/changed.
  4. What changed from the original:
  5. The virtual console is pretty much the same game that we all fell in love with on th SNES. I cherished that game, and seeing it revived on these consoles brought a smile to my face. If you wanted nothing more than the exact game on these consoles and don't want to dig out your SNES, then this game is for you.
  6.
  7. What they passed up on:
  8. I think that they could have used the bottom screen of the 3DS. Instead of the second item coming down after you lose your previous item, you could tap the bottom screen, and you would automatically had the item in hand. I think the way that had been done was okay, but they could have made that a setting that the player could adjust at will. Even though this was not a problem for me, I thought some people would have this problem. I think that some kids who want to start gaming would utilize this the most. I had the idea that you could save/load at will, so if there is a boss they are having trouble with, they could save and load as many times as they want.
  9.
  10. Controls that have improved:
  11. The controls are very similar to that of the SNES version, with a big benefit to people like me. You can use the joystick that is on the 3DS or Wii U. A problem that I have had, still have, and always will with control pads, is during long play sessions, after only using the pad for my left hand, I would get extremely sore. Using the joystick, this problem was eliminated entirely, but it still is possible to use the control pad.
  12.
  13. Final Verdict:
  14. This game still captures that magic it did way back when, and it was worth every dollar. I think that if you enjoyed the original, this is for you.
