  1. Stomp, stomp, stomp.
  2.
  3. No, that wasn't right. It was more like a "tick, tick, tick" accompanied by a rustling as she made her way through the forest, running over any obstacles coming her way (which were quite common, as she was dashing through the dense flora) without much care for them. If one were to judge by sound, no one would've guessed that this rather large individual would be coming through, especially not with the kind of 'luggage' she was carrying. The unconscious, young man donning some light leather armor with a chain mail over it and a short dagger strapped to his belt she was holding close to her chest with her large, furred paws which ended in vicious looking claws certainly didn't seem all that lightweight either. Not that that would've stopped or slowed her down, considering the large, almost ecstatic smile she had on her face while heading towards her home, a large cave on the side of a mountain, far away from any human settlements that would interfere with her plans.
  4.
  5. The things she would do with him, she just couldn't wait - although her good mood got tuned down a little by the fact that she had to wait for him to wake up again, after all, she didn't want him to miss the fun.

  8.
  9. A few days earlier...
  10.
  11. -----
  12.
  13. Sam woke up, the sun, coming through the curtains that were covering most of the big window in the room, was shining him right in the face. He always disliked that about his sleeping spot, but he couldn't really complain as he was the latest addition to the squadron of knights (that's what they called themselves, but they were guards, tasked to protect the city of Dreka, it's surrounding walls and the three villages outside these walls) and this was the last free bed.
  14.
  15. It was a nice, mild spring morning, from time to time a fresh breeze was blowing over the hills which he could feel on himself as he leaned out the window to see if any more or less interesting happenings took place in the city. Not to his surprise, there wasn't much - after all it was the early morning of the day and only a handful of people (mostly craftsmen and bakers) were milling about, pulling their yawning apprentices behind them to get them used to this line of work they were trying to learn.
  16.
  17. He could only chuckle to himself as he remembered his first few weeks in the guard, riddled with sleepless nights when he had to work over night. It wasn't quite enjoyable, but it got him were he is now: a respected member of the guard of Dreka, capable of defending himself and his fellow citizens.
  18.
  19. Putting his regular clothes on, he was on his way to the armory, getting supplied with his personal set of armor and weapons - a medium sized kite shield with the cities' crest on it, a spear and a small dagger, including its signature sheath which marked it as his family heirloom, the last piece of evidence he actually had any family before growing up.
  20.
  21. It was a sad story really, not that anyone cared, since this sort of upbringing wasn't exactly rare around this area, mostly following the same or similar formulas: Kid gets born, parents get sick and die, kid gets shoved into an orphanage. Of course there were also incidents in which the parents simply couldn't afford more than one or two children and had to send them to orphanages as well. Considering all this, it is no surprise that the Order-controlled city of Dreka had quite a few orphanages, all of them employing nuns and the bigger ones even actual teachers to teach the kids the ways of the Order and some basic knowledge needed to survive. All the kids growing up there therefore a bond to the Order which spread over multiple levels, as they enabled them to survive like their parents couldn't, and showing them how the world worked, at least in their way. Which obviously included a natural hatred, and/or fear, of monsters.
  22.
  23. His backstory was one of these common ones, but for the most part he wasn't really interested in any of the teachings the Order had to offer. Not because he didn't believe them, it's not like he didn't have any proof to against them, mostly for the monsters being ruthless killing machines attempting to wipe out humanity part - he hasn't even seen many yet. No, because he found regular craftsmanship boring, wasn't one to have a deft hand and wanted to do something else - like being a guard. As soon as he could, he got out of the orphanage and moved in the barracks of the city. The Order providing a militaristic style of government to the city, they gladly accepted any new recruits into their ranks to stock up their army and keep their power and influence going.
  24.
  25. 5 years later, him being 21 years old now, he was what he wanted to be - and enjoyed it. His training from a recruit to being an actual member took up most of that time, as the Order realized that throwing their new recruits into the enemy ranks was just wasting resources. They cared about their soldiers being competent combatants and that showed: Nearly all of the highest ranking fighters and warriors of Dreka were at least in the ranks of the Order at one point of theirs lives, so much so that Dreka even supplied allied cities with them. His fellow orphans from the old days either became craftsmen or got stationed in other parts of the Orders' empire.
  26.
  27. While his colleagues acknowledged him, they weren't really all that friendly to him. He mostly spend his breaks on an empty bench, but occasionally the group of guards got drawn together by the captain of them, a grizzled veteran with a short, but dense grey beard and a nasty looking scar on his left cheek which he got in a fierce fight with a rabid werewolf, according to him. Sam didn't have any reason to not believe him, as the captain was his most liked colleague of them all, mostly for the reason that he treated all of his underlings the same way: Strict, but with respect.
  28.
  29. After his briefing with the rest of the guards, his assigned post turned out to be a relaxing one. Guard duty in the village of Kurn, the one furthest away from the three. After dismissing the guards, the captain spoke up, just as Sam was about to leave.
  30.
  31. "Hold up, Sam, I need to have a word with you and your assigned task."
  32.
  33. Stiffening up, he returned to the spot he was just standing up and waited for the rest of the guards to leave the room, them whispering to each other about the next duties and how their colleagues obviously got the easier jobs, like usual.
  34.
  35. Alone with him now, the captain starting speaking again.
  36.
  37. "Before I say anything, we're not having this conversation because I'm dissatisfied with your recent service", to which Sam exhaled in relief, it was not often that you got to hear that kind of words from their captain, "but rather opposite."
  38.
  39. Now he was interested - the captain was praising him? He didn't remember doing anything worthy of praise.
  40.
  41. "While all of them have served for longer than you, most have been sloppy in their recent tasks or just being plain ignorant of the Orders' rules. It isn't as bad to call it treason, not by a long shot mind you, but enough that I'd like to give them a bit of a lesson in the coming week or two, the instructor which came around a while ago the same idea."
  42.
  43. Sam remembered the instructor. He really wasn't someone you want to mess with, not only because of his intimidating stature, but also because of his connections to the higher-ups of the city, some rumor said he's even a long-time friend of the lord of Dreka and sometimes acts as his adviser. If he wanted to ruin your day, week or life as a guard in general, he probably had the means to do so.
  44.
  45. The captain continued: "You, being different for the most part, don't really deserve to be put through this and I therefore assigned you to Kurn which is mostly known for it's quieter... atmosphere. This task will last until I send a message which will happen as soon as the others learned their lesson. You will stay with an older lady during this time, she can care for herself, do not worry. Don't take this to be a local vacation though - you will still carry out your duties in the village and the surrounding area, supporting the local guards. Should anything unexpected happen, you are to immediately inform one of the locals to send message to Dreka and help the citizens as you can. Any questions?"
  46.
  47. "No, sir. Thank you, sir."
  48.
  49. "Good. Dismissed."
  50.
  51. "That went well", he thought to himself while walking out of the barracks. Sam didn't expect this kind of task, especially not one lasting for more than two or three days, but he certainly didn't mind. Staying with an old lady was something he was used to from his time at the orphanage, although there was no telling if she was as strict as the head nun there, or something alike to a grandmother who likes to dote on her grandchildren. Whichever the case, he was going to find out soon as he set out of the city gates and headed towards Kurn with only his guard equipment on his back and side which included a filled water skin and some provisions.
  52.
  53. -----
  54.
  55. He was kind of expecting it. The house he was allowed to stay in featured just enough room for the two of them and he certainly appreciated having a separate room from her. The elderly lady - Misses Teer, as he was told to call her - was definitely more of a head nun than a loving grandmother, although she didn't exactly tell him to stop doing this and finish eating his food before sitting up like the head nun did. Not that he would know, as he was spending most of the time outside the house on duty and only returning for dinner and sleep, while she seemingly only left the house for the market to buy food and sell her herbs she harvested in the backyard.
  56.
  57. After two days, during dinner, he actually found out why she was being so grumpy and unfriendly to nearly everyone in the village. Her husband disappeared out in the wilderness while chopping wood and his colleague barely escaped the bandits who attacked them to tell the tale. Her worries about not seeing him again turned true as she talked to the village chief and later to the higher-ups in Dreka to get someone to save her husband. All of them refused, telling her it wasn't worth it, he was likely dead already anyway. Most of them being controlled by the Order and them not wanting to spare any soldiers for "meaningless tasks that could endanger the soldiers" as she was told, she more or less lost any trust in the Order and only accepted the offer to house Sam because she needed the large sum of money to sustain herself. She however still sells her herbs per tradition and because nobody else in the village has the vast knowledge about them like she does.
  58.
  59. -----
  60.
  61. "The scouts have seen WHAT?!" The Order's general was seething.
  62.
  63. The first captain kept his stature. "It is as I told you, sir. Nine scouts are reporting large groups of monsters a handful kilometers outside the villages farms, moving towards the villages. While they couldn't exactly tell which kinds all of them were, they claim to have seen werewolves, arachnae and even a few lizardpeople. By the time this message got here they surely must have progressed quite a bit."
  64.
  65. "No doubt about that... we must warn the villages. Send out messengers immediately telling them to retreat into the city. Also, we will need temporary homes for all the farmers out there, so order some tents to be set up. If the monsters take us by surprise they could run over the city and destroy it, so we need at least doubled defense on all the city walls. GO, every minute counts!"
  66.
  67. As the captains left the room, the general knead his temples and spoke to himself. "Here we go again you filthy beasts... we repelled you last time, but that won't stop you from trying again apparently..."
  68.
  69. -----
  70.
  71. Blissfully unaware of any of the trouble going on in the area, Sam still carried out his (at this point slightly repetitive) guard duty. He just finished a lap around the village and began walking inside it again.
  72.
  73. "While I like this tranquil area, it's getting a bit boring around the area... In the city, some drunkards would stir up trouble or some magician blew himself up from time to time. Wasn't always funny for them, but surely for me...", he thought.
  74.
  75. After reaching the other end of the village again, he said down against a wooden fence and took a short break. "Not even any animals stealing crops, much less attacking any villagers, that need to be dealt with", he sighs and takes a swig of his water skin. "I guess I should be thankful."
  76.
  77. Standing up and going back outside the borders of the village and passing by a mother and his son in tow, he continued his line of thought. "But these local guards aren't really anything to count on either... all they do is laze about and-"
  78.
  79. *CRASH* *RUSTLE*
  80.
  81. "What was that? It sounded like a tree falling over in the forest..."
  82.
  83. The mother and her son must've heard it as well, stopping and turning around to look for the source of the sound. As Sam peered into the forest, he saw movement. While that didn't really surprise him, as something had to have knocked that tree over, it didn't comfort him either. What he saw moving was, apart from being quite large, by no means human.
  84.
  85. Wasting no time, he took out his spear and shield and turned back to the two citizens behind him.
  86.
  87. "Quick, call for some help, there's something dangerous out there and it's approaching! GO!"
  88.
  89. Reacting quickly, the mother, luckily still young and apparently quite agile, picked up her son and started running. After making sure they are actually getting somewhere, he turned around again and what he saw didn't calm him down either - some ten meters in the darkness of the forest (it was getting late after all) was an eye. A yellow, glowing eye that stared at him, only blinking occasionally, tracking his every move and coming closer, the rustling of leaves getting louder.
  90.
  91. What came out of the shadows at first was a with nearly black fur covered limb that ended in a long, grey claw. Then came another. And another. After the forth one came out, he stopped counting and looked a little higher: Behind the legs he could make out a widening body which was covered in the same fur as the upper parts of what seemed to be the legs. Between the first two legs appeared two smaller versions of them and above that lay what truly took his breath away. A woman's upper body with grey-greenish skin and elaborate patterns of the same black fur that covered the rest of her body. Above some rather large sized breasts lied her neck and head, with two curled horns coming out of the sides of the latter and some cow-like ears in her skin color lying sticking out underneath them. The yellow, glowing eye was ever-so-prevalent, and now he knew why he only saw one eye: A red patch of what seemed to be cloth covered the left eye, with some strange writing on it. Her hair was a black, very similar to the fur on her body and made its way down her back while also hanging down to the sides of her face.
  92.
  93. With shivering hands he thought back to the monster lessons he had. While the training in the Order surely taught you to fight, they did not go into detail with the monsters in particular, only telling the recruits the basic premise. In the orphanage however, they did more than that. You had to read and memorize the most common monsters and know what their weaknesses were, not that there were many with most of them. During the later parts of the day Sam often read through the few books the orphanage possessed that weren't part of the teaching.
  94.
  95. And the creature that just appeared before him was one of the fiercest and deadliest, according to the books. It was an Ushi-Oni, a cow-spider-like monster that had brutish strength, impeccable speed and incredible sturdiness, recovering from near fatal wounds in minutes. Being able to battle head to head with dragons and other legendary creatures, they were thought to be rare, especially in the forest and hills area that was surrounding the villages and city of Dreka. No reports in any of the books told of any appearances in the last ten years. But apparently this one did not care about that, being here regardless.
  96.
  97. Growing an unnerving grin and showing the gleaming white, jagged teeth in her mouth, the monster walked closer, getting out of the forest and reaching the grassland area before the village, Sam backed up little by little while holding up his shield. Behind her he saw a path of fallen over trees and destroyed plant life, he was surprised it took him this long to notice her, given the destruction she caused in the forest.
  98.
  99. Stopping to take in the area around her, she starting talking, in a rough, yet feminine voice. "Looks like I'm the first one to arrive in this village... I should probably use that advantage."
  100.
  101. Not lowering his weapons, Sam came to a stop as well and spoke up. "The first one? Does that mean there's more of you monsters coming? And to the other villages as well?!"
  102.
  103. "Mhm? Oh, of course you wouldn't know." The spider-like woman chuckled to herself. "Most of the girls in the surrounding area have entered a... difficult time, therefore approaching the settlements around here for some action. And maybe something a bit more permanent."
  104.
  105. "Action? Permanent? That doesn't sound good...", he thought to himself while not taking his eyes of the monster in front of him, "Do you mean you are looking to wipe out these villages and endanger the city of Dreka?!"
  106.
  107. "Wipe ou- You're one of the Order guys then?" Licking her lips, she continued. "Mhm, this'll be good. I hope, for yourself as well, that you put up a good fight. Would be boring to see such a cute guy be at his end too quickly..."
  108.
  109. "C-cute? Wha...? You can certainly try, monster! I won't give you an easy time! Also, answer my question already!"
  110.
  111. Just as he was finished with his sentence, the monster girl charged at him. Barely reacting in time, he raised his shield up as her furred fist, also ending in a four dangerous looking claws similar to her legs, slammed into it. The impact was so strong, he barely managed to not get his guard broken.
  112.
  113. "Looks like the books didn't lie about their strength and speed. I'll need to be more careful...", he thought. "My shield-arm already hurts like hell, but if I let this monster beat me, this village is done for if what the books said is completely true."
  114.
  115. The monster girl raised her visible eyebrow, looking at her fist and then at him, then entered a fighting stance and started grinning again. "Able to block that, huh? That punch was strong enough to crack a tree... Oooh, this'll definitely be entertaining..."
  116.
  117. Gulping, he prepared his own attack, trying to hit her with his spear while still holding up his shield. Realizing too late she was more than ready for his counterattack, she grabbed his spear and ripped it from his hands, making him stumble forward. Luckily his gloves were made of strong, well fabricated leather, otherwise his hands surely would've taken some damage there. He couldn't exactly praise the craftsmanship of the spear he just lost however, seeing as she crushed the thick wooden pole with a single hand and let the little pieces drop to the floor.
  118.
  119. Backing up, he raised his shield again, only to realize the Ushi-Oni didn't let him get away so easily. What he made up in distance, the monster easily caught up to again, all the while gaining speed. After getting close enough, she punched his shield away with her right hand and slashed at his now exposed upper body with her left one. The chain links of his armor were cut apart instantly and even the leather armor underneath now had some deep cuts, his shirts' light beige color poking through them. Not slowing down, the monster girl grabbed the stumbling man and slammed him into a nearby tree.
  120.
  121. Any air he might have had left in his lungs was now gone and next to his arm, his back now also hurt so much it felt like breaking. Coughing and looking up, all he could see was the grinning Ushi-Oni looming over him with her fist raised again. His shield-arm hurt too much, there was no way he'd be able to block the next attack, not even accounting for her massive strength that would very likely break some bones the next time he tried to do so. So instead he rolled to the side, evading the punch in the last moment, and pulled out his dagger, cutting the arm of the monster while she was still pulling her arm out of the soft earth it got stuck in. While his attack out of the roll looked impressive, the effect it had on his opponent left much to desire.
  122.
  123. Panting, Sam watched the small wound he actually managed to inflict slowly disappear, as if no weapon was ever used on her arm. "Damn... it...", he managed to croak out, dropping onto the floor with his stomach first while watching the monster girl walk closer to him again. Darkness overtook his mind as he felt his body being lifted up.
  124.
  125. "Mhmmmm... that managed to get me excited." the Ushi-Oni said, lifting his body with ease and taking a closer look at the man she just knocked out. No marred skin (apart from some bruises from the fight with her), still young like her, some nice muscles to show for and a rough stubble around his mouth, reaching up to his dense, unkempt, brown hair. She liked the prey she just captured. Not finding any noticeable wounds, she held him close and started heading for the forest again.
  126.
  127. -----
  128.
  129. The captain sighed. Of course the one time he wanted to do something good for the boy, he managed to get himself into an all-out raid from the monsters in the area surrounding the empire of Dreka. He read through the report that just arrived a while ago again, skipping the honorifics at the start this time.
  130.
  131. "The villages surrounding the proud, Order-controlled city of Dreka were invaded by hostile monster forces, all of which were managed to be repelled. The fields of Jakl, Wernis and lastly Kurn were seen to be stomped to the ground by the opponents that suddenly arrived. While nearly all of the citizens managed to escape, there are some disappearances of guard personnel, namely in Jakl and Wernis (an accurate list can be found on the final piece of this letter). Two guards were also reported missing from Kurn, firstly a local with the name of Jurt Hant, the second one being a supporting guard from Dreka, named Sam Dicon."
  132.
  133. Stopping there, he rubbed his temples. "I'll have to send out a scouting troop to find him, although if what the citizens there saw was true, he got downed by a massive arachnid monster which aren't too keen on giving up their prey once they caught it. I pray for you, boy, and hope you can forgive us in case we won't find you in time..."
  134.
  135. -----
  136.
  137. Pain shook through Sam's body like an electric shock and woke him up. While he seemed to be laying on a soft surface, that didn't stop his limbs from complaining about the current situation. Where was he? How long was he unconscious for? Was the monster that he fought here? These and other questions ran through his mind as he slowly opened his eyes. It was dark, the only source of light in this... cave being a glass with some glowing bugs in it next to what he now realized was some kind of primitive bed, a stone platform with a thick layer of wool (a sheep's by the looks of it) he was laying on. Him being alone at the moment gave him a moment of relaxation and some time to adjust his eyes to the dim light. The cave seemed to end near the bed, the only other way going around a corner into a widening room.
  138.
  139. After a while, he smelled something. Something tasty. Could this be cooked meat? He didn't realize until now, likely because of the adrenaline and pain, but he was starving. Stopping himself in the middle of getting up, not just because it caused even greater pain for him, but also because he remembered something: He was likely in the monster's lair. While her cooking something that wasn't him sounded good for the moment, that doesn't mean she won't prey on him next. Lowering himself onto the bed again, he took a look at his equipment for the first time after waking up. He was missing his armor and weapons, only his opened shirt was covering the upper body and he still had his pants on.
  140.
  141. "So I have no way of defending myself even if manage to get out of the cave... I'm screwed..." he murmured. "Might as well continue sleeping, she didn't seem to attack me while I was lying here at least."
  142.
  143. Not a long time after closing his eyes and trying to get comfortable, he heard a noise coming from what he assumed to be the entrance of the cave. It was a ticking sound, soon accompanied by a gentle humming. Peeking through his nearly closed eyelids and trying to look like he was sleeping, the creature he had feared would be here showed up, he actually got taken by the Ushi-Oni and was sleeping in her lair which did actually explain why the bed he was laying in was so huge, after all her body wasn't really small.
  144.
  145. Putting down the big stone bowl she was carrying on a nearby stone platform, she sighed as she took a look at the bed again. "Still sleeping, is he?", she thought to herself, "It has been more than a day now, maybe I should really try using some of my energy to help him recover quicker."
  146.
  147. "It just doesn't make sense, why is she not trying to kill me? Does she like to see my fear and wants me to shiver beneath her? Does she want to preserve my meat to be able to eat my later? Why is she not touching the delicious smelling food on the table?" Sam's mind was racing again, he could barely contain his shivering as he noticed how the monster girl got closer to the bed. While he was still imitating someone sleeping, he wasn't prepared for what she did next.
  148.
  149. Climbing onto the bed and hugging him from the side, her soft fur on her arms and legs tickled his skin and her breasts were being stuck just below his chin, as she snuggled her cheek on his head.
  150.
  151. What. What was she doing? Why is this happening? He could tell that she was being gentle, as if to not hurt him, but why? Not able to contain his thoughts any longer, he groaned and finally opened his eyes again, making it seem like he just woke up, maybe she would have mercy on him for a while this way. "Uuuurgh... what... where... who...?"
  152.
  153. "Oh, you're finally awake! Sshh, stay still for a while. It'll get better."
  154.
  155. "Better? What do you m-" He stopped talking as he noticed something. His arm didn't hurt nearly as much as it did just a few minutes ago. Slowly, but surely the pain that was flowing through his body was replaced by a gentle warmth, coming from nowhere else than the Ushi-Oni that was hugging him.
  156.
  157. "What is happening?!" he almost yelled, completely forgetting about his try to act sleepy and wounded.
  158.
  159. "Woah, you got up quickly. Your recovery was sped up by my demonic energy I just poured over you. Before you start to worry, it wasn't that much, you'll not turn into an incubus or something similar."
  160.
  161. "Demonic energy? Wha- why would you do that? Why are you healing me? Why didn't you just straight up eat me? Where are we even? Why-"
  162.
  163. "Tss, tss, so many questions. If your body feels alright again, how about we discuss this over dinner?" she said, pointing to the stone bowl in the back of the cave, still steaming and smelling delicious. He also noted how she was smiling - it wasn't the kind of smile she had shown during their fight. It was a kind welcoming, smile. If this smile would've been on a regular humans' face, he would no doubt be at ease. But considering his current situation and the fact that the creature in front of him wasn't exactly human, he couldn't help but back up a little on the bed, just about catching himself from not falling off it.
  164.
  165. "Hmm, still scared of me are you? I guess that's understandable... considering how we met." She looked a bit hurt, but clearly didn't want to show it. "I apologize for being a bit rough during our fight, but-"
  166.
  167. "A BIT rough?!" he almost screamed. "You broke my weapons and armor, nearly my arms as well, smacked me into tree and after I fell unconscious, you dragged me off to... wherever we are now to make a soup out of me and eat me later on. How do you think-"
  168.
  169. He was interrupted by her snorting, shortly after she started laughing.
  170.
  171. "Yeah, sure... just laugh at the broken man in your grasp. I'm sure you enjoyed torturing other humans just like me. But I'll tell you, you won't have an easy time with me. You may think of me as food, but I'll bite back!"
  172.
  173. That sentence barely finished, she only started laughing louder. That hurt him a bit. Not that his body hurt anymore, mind you, she apparently healed him after all, but seeing her not take him seriously at all managed to put quite a big dent in his self-confidence.
  174.
  175. Finally calming down, she wiped a tear out of her eye and spoke up again. "Ok, that was good. Hehe. Soup with you in it. Pff. What ever made you think I'd do that? Was it the Order teachings? Because I'm sure they would spout nonsensical lies like that."
  176.
  177. "Lies? Everyone knows monsters eat humans for a living, at least the carnivorous ones. You're trying to trick me, aren't you?"
  178.
  179. "News flash: I'm not. The only reason we'd attack humans is if we're in the search of mates, like I was. And even then we try do not hurt our... future companions too much. Well, others do maybe. I'd like my partner to have some resilience, because he's going to need it later on. Also, the fighting gets me excited. Oh yeah, I was apologizing for that wasn't I? My seal was losing its powers, so I got a new one." She pointed to the piece of cloth covering one of her eyes. It did indeed look newer, the colour was brighter and while the text was still gibberish for him, it wasn't as faded out. "It usually keeps my excitement in check, but with it weakening and me finally finding a man after all this time, I went a bit crazy... sorry again..."
  180.
  181. Looking at her apologetic stature - looking down and even blushing a bit - he was at a loss. Processing all this information proved to be a bit much for Sam, as he was still a bit dazed from his forced rest earlier. The Order told lies? Why?
  182.
  183. Seeing the confused look on his face, she decided to break the silence: "So, to finally introduce myself: I'm Nisha, 22 years old, this is my cave and there's a nice meal getting cold over on the table." Getting off the bed and slowly walking backwards towards the stone table, as she called it, she started smiling again. "After how long you were unconscious, you surely must be hungry, right? I got just the thing!"
  184.

  186.
  187. "So you're telling me that monsters being evil, human eating... abominations is just a bunch of lies told by the Order to reach out to more people and increase their forces by unifying the people of all empires towards a common goal? And I'm supposed to believe that?"
  188.
  189. "That is pretty much what I was trying to tell you for the last while, Sam."
  190.
  191. During their meal, he let her know his name, after all, she introduced herself to him as well. "If you believe that or not is up to you, but I'll tell you this much: The Order, at least the higher ranks of them, knows more than they tell their soldiers. Why do you think they didn't tell anyone to actively fight against monsters? Because they know that if their soldiers were to get defeated - which in all honesty would happen quite a lot, given our physical differences - they would effectively give their enemies more manpower and ways to reproduce."
  192.
  193. "While that does make sense... how do you even know all of this? Surely if you ever got close to Dreka to find out about stuff like this, someone would see you and alarm the guards?"
  194.
  195. "Do you think we monsters don't communicate? There are quite a few capable of using magic and of course they're also able to change their bodies to look like humans. Some monster even live undercover in Dreka and other bigger cities. Most of the time only their husbands know of their true nature, though."
  196.
  197. "Ok, you've already told me multiple times about your kind searching for mates and husbands. Why look for humans for that? And surely a few Order-raised husbands of monsters would alarm the guards about monsters in the city? It just doesn't add up..."
  198.
  199. "It's a bit of a sad story, really. I'll make it short: There are no male monsters. Back when the new Demon Lord rose to power, she transformed all monsters into more... approachable creatures." She held her arms crossed below her breasts and pushed them out a bit. "While her goal was to create coexistence between man and monster, her plan failed at one part. She didn't quite have enough power for such a difficult transformation and therefore couldn't make any male monsters appear. Only female monsters are born from any pregnancies of us monster girls and since there are no male monsters, we mate with human men instead. As for your second question..."
  200.
  201. She leaned closer to him, closing her eyelids a bit and started speaking in a more seductive tone. "Care to find out why those 'Order-raised husbands' as you call them did not want to report their wives?"
  202.
  203. He was taken aback. Did she really mean 'THAT' by asking this question? "Uuuuh... sure?"
  204.
  205. "Then please, close your eyes for a bit", she asked him while going back to her side of the table and starting to smile again.
  206.
  207. Hesitating a bit, he did so. "Don't open them until I tell you to, alright?" He hoped he didn't make a really, really stupid mistake. But what was he gonna do anyway? There's no way he'd escape the cave they were in without her chasing after him. He heard her stand up and walk around the table. Suddenly, he felt her gently picking him up and walking away with him. After a few seconds, he was thrown onto a soft surface, the bed, he presumed and he felt her landing on top of him.
  208.
  209. Only after feeling something wet and soft on his lips he actually opened his eyes again, just to see her lowering her face to start kissing him. He tried to talk, but due to their mouths being connected, all that was able to escape his mouth was a moan. Shortly after noticing something wet near his crotch, looking down and seeing her now exposed, dripping vagina, he looked up and shrunk back into the bed. Her seal had fallen off, and she was wearing the ecstatic smile from earlier again. Slowly, she was taking off his clothes, and licked her lips.
  210.
  211. This was going to be a loooong night, wasn't it?
