- Covet: Eli was waiting outside waiting for Adam to show up, But it was kind of cold, outside so he stepped inside and started to walk over to the coffee desk to look at what he wanted to get.
- Alexithymiaa: -Adam pulled his truck up outside of the bookstore, killing the engine and shuffling out of the vehicle to his feet. Slipping his hands inside his pockets, he made his way inside, glancing around and seeing Eli standing near the front desk, taking his sweet ass time in walking over to him. As he walked up next to him, he said nothing, just kind of lingering there.-
- Covet: Eli turned hearing foot steps behind him. Seeing Adam, he gave a tight lipped smile and a wave, "Thanks for coming, Order whatever you'd like." He said as he stepped up and ordered himself a Carmel Mocha with whipped cream.
- Alexithymiaa: -Without a word to Eli, he stepped up to the barista, ordering himself a plain black coffee before finally looking at Eli. "Where are we sitting?"-
- Covet: "Couches?" He suggested after the Barista handed them both their drinks, then went that way to sit down. Getting himself comfortable he leaned over on his knees. Looking down at his coffee. "So, as you found out. I had a not so recent, but kind of recent issue with infidelity." He started taking a deep breath.
- Alexithymiaa: -Adam took his coffee and walked over to join Eli on the couches, sitting considerably far from him given the context of their conversation. He sipped his coffee, keeping a completely straight face. "Uhuh..."-
- Covet: "I don't have much to say other than, there was no excuses for what I did. I'm not proud of it, and I know you probably think less of me for it." Eli said as he picked his coffee up and took a sip, pausing before he continued, "This is a consequence I've completely accepted, and am trying my hardest to make right every day, that includes apologizing to the people who expect better of me." He said looking over to Adam.
- Alexithymiaa: "I did expect better of you. I didn't think you were one of those people who thought something like that would be okay. What were you even thinking, betraying Bliss' trust like that?" He snapped a bit, actually showing some emotion. Adam never gets mad, but he's mad.-
- Covet: "I'm not...or.. I wasn't. and I'm not now. I messed up, I know it. I wasn't thinking, not about Bliss at least. I was selfish in my justifications for doing it. It's taken me a lot of effort, and work, to gain what trust I do have back. And I'm thankful every single day since then, that she gave me that chance." He said, seeing that Adam was pissed.
- Alexithymiaa: "I honestly have no idea how she can trust you. I know for me, at this point, I don't trust you simply because Bliss is a good friend of mine and your damn fiance, and you cheated on her? With Jade?:" He stammered a bit, shaking his head. "I've always really looked up to you, Eli. I valued you as a person, as a friend, as a boss... but now? I feel like everything I've ever known about you was a lie."-
- Covet: "It was before I even asked Bliss to marry me. This happened, months ago, Adam. Back when we were having issues and arguing in the shop." He told him with a sigh, "But in that time, nothing changed about me, outside of this, did it? I'm learning and I've gotten better. Bliss and I have had a lot of serious talks about what she expects of me. She doesn't trust me completely, and I understand that you don't, I'm slowly earning her forgiveness and hopefully someday, I can earn yours too. Everything I've done since this, has been for her. Because in my moment of weakness, I realized how much she means to me." Eli tried to explain himself better.
- Alexithymiaa: "But why should it come down to you cheating on her for you to realize that you care about her and she means a lot to you? That's not fair to her. And it's great that you're earning her trust back, but honestly I don't know if I'll ever respect you the same way."-
- Covet: "It shouldn't have. You're absolutely right. It was completely unfair to her. " He said nodding his head, "I understand that, and I will respect that." Eli took another drink and stayed quiet.
- Alexithymiaa: "Good, as long as we're on the same page." He also settled into silence, taking a sip of his coffee and settling it into his lap. "Have you ever been on the other side of that? The one being cheated on?"-
- Covet: "No, I can't even begin to imagine what it's like. I know it's pretty crappy on my end, so it's probably ten times as worse to be cheated on." Eli said softly.
- Alexithymiaa: "Exactly. I just wish you understood how Bliss felt when the love of her life disrespected her like that."-
- Covet: "I wish I knew too. But I promise to never let her feel like that again." Eli said with a bit of optimism
- Alexithymiaa: "I'm sure you've promised similar things before. That doesn't change what you did after the fact. I don't know, this is just hard for me to accept." He lowered his head, taking a sip of his coffee.-
- Covet: "I have but never with the understanding that I have now. It's not guilt based, it's knowing that she deserves better, and I'm going to make sure she gets that. I'm not perfect, I'm human. But I'm learning from my mistakes and hold myself completely accountable." He replied. "That's all I can do and hope that people don't fault me for my mistake."
- Alexithymiaa: "Do you really blame them if they do?" He asked quickly, looking up from his coffee to briefly look into Eli's face.-
- Covet: "No, I can't. I don't get that right anymore." Eli said as he lowered his head, knowinly ashamed.
- Alexithymiaa: "Well, as long as you know and understand." He fell into silence again, looking into his nearly empty coffee mug like it held the answers to the universe.-
- Covet: "I do. Thanks for at least sitting down with me, and letting me explain." Eli said looking over at Adam.
- Alexithymiaa: -Adam nodded, pushing up to his feet. "You're still one of my best friends. It's just now you're one of my best friends that I'm very disappointed with." He walked over to the front desk, placing his now empty mug down on it.-
- Covet: "I'll take that and be appreciative and grateful." He said following suit as he set his mug down and left a tip underneath it.
- Alexithymiaa: "Good, because honestly you didn't really have a choice." He forced a little laugh before turning to walk passed Eli, heading out of the shop and out to his truck.-
- Covet: Eli made his way out to his vehicle and off to his appartment for the night.
