  1. >"...Anon, can you tell me a story? One from where you came from?"
  2.
  3. >>26008598
  4. >"Yes, my little Twilight."
  5. >She purrs, snuggling into your chest, hooves tight around her toy
  6. >And you feel her warm body press against you each time she breaths
  7. >Your hand runs down her mane and she closes her eye again
  8. >And you begin
  9. "Once upon a time, there was a man that lived in a house."
  10. >Her breaths are slowing, as she relaxes into you
  11. "He had no friends that he could talk to, or family that could visit him."
  12. >Your hand moves down her back, gently stroking her as she falls deeper into sleep
  13. "He spent his time with strangers he called friends."
  14. "Sometimes, he would laugh along with their jokes and smile at their chides."
  15. "And other times, he would cry with them, thinking on dreams and desires that would never be."
  16. >She's asleep in your hold now, but you clutch her a little tighter
  17. >And wrap both of your hands around her now
  18. "But days would pass, and he grew lonely."
  19. "His strangers were sometimes there, sometimes not, always different."
  20. "So he decided to make a resolution."
  21. >Her toy slips from her grasp as you lean your head into her
  22. >Taking in the soft lavendar scent
  23. >Her horn rubs a little against your cheek
  24. "He decided he didn't want to continue living alone."
  25. "The strangers weren't company enough."
  26. >You close your eyes, focusing on her warmth
  27. >Maybe it was wishful, but it felt like your heart beat with hers
  28. "So he went into the store, and bought the thickest rope he could find."
  29. "And he brought his favorite chair, that he had spent many a nights on."
  30. >You feel her body shift a little, and you loosen your hold
  31. "He wrapped the rope once, twice, thrice around the ceiling fan..."
  32. >She's stirring a little more
  33. "And tied a little hole, just enough for him."
  34. >You feel her toy slide down your body
  35. >And her hooves move, slowly, around you
  36. "And what he saw in that hole...it was beautiful."
  37. >Twilight looks up at you, eyes still half asleep
  38. >And she smiles
  39. >You don't finish the story
  40. >You don't have to
  41. >You're living the ending
  42.
  43. -----------------------------------------------
  44. >"Anon, my child."
  45.

  47. You are't my mother
  48.
  49. >>25943011
  50. I want to spend the night as her small colt wrapped in a blanket kept warm while we both look up at the stars.

  56. >The pair of you lay there on the grassy knoll, looking up at the falling stars above
  57. >Luna had wrapped you tightly in a blanket, and it feels warm around you
  58. >She lays on her back, and holds a hoof under you, nuzzling your tiny form into hers
  59. >"Are you sleepy, my child?"
  60. >You nod, nuzzling your head into hers
  61. >"Would you like me to tell you a story?"
  62. "Yes, please, mommy."
  63. >She holds you into her
  64. >And points at a star above
  65. >"Do you know what that star is?"
  66. >You shake your head and she chuckles
  67. >"That's the north star, where travelers would use to guide their journey."
  68. >You look at the bright star above
  69. >And yawn
  70. >"There was a pony I knew once, who used that star to travel. And travel she would, to far away lands, seeing new sights, new wonders, new civilizations."
  71. >Your eyelids feel heavier
  72. >Her warmth envelopes you as she hugs tightly into you
  73. >"Every where she went, she would find new friends and new adventures awaiting her."
  74. >She turns towards you, her side now facing the grass underneath
  75. >And she nuzzles her face into yours
  76. >"But one day, she found an adventure so grand, she never wished to return."
  77. >Your eyes are closed, and your breathing slows
  78. >"She continued onwards, though she left a child behind..."
  79. >Her voice fades away, slowly
  80. >"She felt guilt tug at her heart, but she knew could never turn from the path she chose."
  81. >Her form starts to fade
  82. >"I will always be here for you, child, waiting, ready in your dreams..."
  83. >The world dissolves
  84. >And a heaviness sets in
  85. >You open your eyes, and find yourself back in your empty house again
  86. >But the moonlight shining in from the windows casts a comforting light
  87. >And you nuzzle into your covers to fall into the comfort of sleep once more
