RIP Tarchan Kinda But Not Really

So I had a dream last night, and while I don't normally take stock in stuff like that, it did get me thinking. I've decided I'm not going to be submitting Tarchan for SGDQ.

Lots of reasons for this, long story short I just don't have enough time. SMB3 Warpless Tourney has sapped a good deal of my free time, which is great, it's been awesome, but it's cut more into other things I've wanted to do than I originally thought. On top of that submissions came up much faster than I thought, not sure if they're doing things earlier or if I'm just remembering last year's timeline differently, but I thought I'd have at least a month. Right now I'd only have about 3 weeks to get a submission in, so I'd have to take it from basically only beating it casually to something considered a speedrun. If I had absolutely nothing else to do and 100% motivation to do it, I could maybe get something, but neither of those are possible. I don't wanna try and rush it and submit something that isn't my best work, so at least as a submission for SGDQ 2016 Tarchan just won't happen.

That absolutely does not mean I won't be routing and running this game tho. It's too fun, too quirky, too smug to go without being ran. Whenever my schedule clears up a bit, I'll dig into this game, so get ready for wonky jumping, weirder boss fights, and some intense investigation into Rock, Paper, Scissors RNG.

As for SGDQ, I'm still absolutely going, and I'll probably submit Uniracers alongside MrCab and Auth if he decides to submit it as well. TBH I don't have super high hopes for it, but you never know. It's a fun speedgame and I think our commentary and rapport would make it an entertaining watch. Guess we'll see how SNESSuperStars goes, maybe that'll build some hype :) I'll also likely be volunteering and/or commentating stuff, so that'll still be fun.

TL;DR SGDQ Tarchan 2016 ded, but Tarchan 2016 still dream. Uniracers and volunteering still hopeful.

So now I guess the new meme is Tarchan SGDQ 2017 the dream?
