  1. Failure: "Good boots"
  2. You introduce your creature to the Bishop's bat through a trap door. The Bishop forces a smile. 'Procreation,' he says, loudly, over the sounds of your beast being assiduously eaten. 'The miracle of creation!' There is silence, then a conclusive squelch. Mucus splatters through the cracks in the door.
  3.
  4. Some time later, the trap door opens and something appears, slithering on a midnight blue belly. A cobra! It must be twenty feet long. The venom dripping from its fangs leaves smoking holes in the stone roof the size of grapes. On its hood is the Correspondence symbol for 'A gift to remind a woman of something best forgotten'. Shots ring out. The snake spasms and dies. A squad of vergers shoulder their smoking rifles. One of them shrugs at you.
  5.
  6. The Bishop turns to you and says, 'That's the Correspondence, isn't it? Make a fine pair of boots, this thing will. About the only good one can do with a serpent. It pleaseth me to walk upon the skin of our enemies!'
  7. Effects: [-1 x Plated Seal, Thwarting Beastly Devils (set to 0), In the Company of Monsters (-1 cp), +2 x Antique Mystery]
