- A New Resistance film to expose dangers of Roundup in food, water and all around us
- http://www.naturalnews.com/048048_A_New_Resistance_Roundup_food_contamination.html
- It has been in constant and increasing use for more than 50 years. But glyphosate, the main ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide, isn’t at all safe for humans. And a new film project known as A New Resistance seeks to make this fact known on a wide scale, warning the public that this deadly chemical is now present in water, soil, air and food, and is slowly killing us all.
- Since 1974, conventional farmers have been dousing their crops with what they were told is a completely safe, broad-spectrum weedkiller. This weedkiller has since become the number one selling herbicide in the world, but a growing body of independent science now shows that it is destroying human health, promoting obesity, infertility, cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, autism and dementia.
- While supposedly making farming “easier,” Roundup has become ubiquitous throughout the environment and in the modern food supply. Homeowners and gardeners alone use over 100 million pounds of it every single year just to keep their lawns free of weeds and their golf courses perfectly manicured. But the result is that glyphosate is now present in nearly every person’s body.
- “Glyphosate is an antibiotic, a chelator, and an endocrine disruptor,” explains an announcement about the film project.
- “It is being found inside of our bodies, and is entering the bodies of our newborn children through breast milk. A host of recent studies have linked Roundup and glyphosate to an alarming number of diseases threatening animal and human health, including obesity, diabetes, depression, infertility, cancer, celiac disease, gluten intolerance, irritable bowel syndrome, autism, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.”

- EPA has raised allowable glyphosate limits by 3,000 percent to accommodate chemical industry
- Since it was first introduced, Roundup use has increased dramatically all around the world, and so has the amount of Roundup pollution present in the environment. Consequently, in July 2013, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) decided to raise the maximum allowable residues of glyphosate in food to accommodate this increase in use.
- The result? There can now be up to 3,000 percent more glyphosate in your food before a food manufacturer will be scrutinized by the nation’s food safety agencies. This is despite numerous recent studies showing that glyphosate destroys gut microbiota and accumulates inside the body. Nearly every study not published by the chemical industry itself suggests that glyphosate is “Satan’s molecule,” as it literally destroys all life with which it comes into contact.
- “It’s time to stop raising the residue limits for a chemical that has potentially harmful effects on our health,” insist the minds behind the A New Resistance project. “It’s time to stop the use of glyphosate altogether, unless and until peer-reviewed independent studies of glyphosate prove its use to be unquestionably safe.”
- Watch A New Resistance trailer and support this important project
- Those who understand how dangerous glyphosate and Roundup really are also recognize that it is absolutely vital to spread the word to others. This is especially critical as rates of infertility, autism, and many other conditions associated with glyphosate exposure continue to skyrocket with no end in sight. By 2034, claim some estimates, one in every two children will likely have autism!
- This needs to stop, and A New Resistance can help make it happen by educating people through film. Once released, the final project will be free for everyone with no strings attached. But in order to get the film made, funds still need to be raised. As of this writing, the project has achieved $46,414 of its final goal of $50,000, so let’s help it through the final stretch:

- Forty years ago, a chemical was born. It's in our food, water, air, soil, blood, urine and breast milk. We're not Roundup Ready. It's time for A New Resistance
- Why this film has to be made
- Glyphosate. It is the key ingredient in "Roundup," a broad-spectrum weed killer developed by Monsanto. It has become the number one selling herbicide worldwide, due to the increase in the planting of Monsanto’s Roundup Ready Crops, which are genetically engineered to withstand multiple applications of the weed killer during the growth cycle. It is also used in residential gardens and neighborhood parks around the world. For 20 + years Monsanto has claimed that this proprietary weed killer is safe.
- But a host of recent studies have linked Roundup and glyphosate to an alarming number of diseases threatening animal and human health; including obesity, infertility, cancer, celiac disease, gluten intolerance, irritable bowel syndrome, autism and Alzheimer’s Disease. Also, we now understand that it is inside our bodies. More importantly, it is entering the bodies of our newborn children through breast milk.
- In July 2013, despite countless letters and documents submitted in protest, the Environmental Protection Agency raised the maximum allowable residues of glyphosate in our food (most likely to accommodate the levels already routinely detected) - up to 30 times higher. Now officials are attempting to raise the allowable chemical residue of glyphosate in many important food crops that we eat everyday, including vegetables such as carrots, sweet potatoes, flax and sunflower seeds. The current allowable levels are already many times higher than has been shown to destroy the gut bacteria of chickens… so what is it doing to us?
- It is time to investigate glyphosate’s impact on human health and the environment. It's time to stop raising the residue limits for a chemical that has potentially harmful effects on our health. It's time to stop the use of glyphosate altogether, unless and until peer-reviewed independent studies of glyphosate prove its use to be unquestionably safe.
- Our goal: Mass education through free distribution.
- We are committed to revealing the truths behind one of the most profitable synthetic chemicals - a chemical, not a company - in the history of this planet. Our film intends to not only expose this chemical to higher scrutiny, but also to demonstrate how we have allowed its unrestricted use in the United States and across the globe without a complete understanding of its effects. It is time to focus our attention on what this chemical has been doing to us for the past 40 years, and why its use has been allowed so readily.
- This film will be a learning tool, provided for free, to anyone searching the internet for information. It can be used - without restriction - by organizations, companies, bloggers and individuals to educate their communities, families, friends, co-workers and loved ones across the board.
- This documentary will serve many purposes, but it will primarily shine a light on this particular chemical and demonstrate what role the EPA and the chemical companies have played in its use. We will follow established leaders in the field, such as neonatologist Dr. Paul Winchester, through his day; to listen, to learn, and to understand how vital this information is for future generations.
- Every penny raised from this campaign will go into the production and distribution of this film. The more money raised, the faster this film will get finished and out there. Our goal is to start shooting the film as early as this summer and have it ready for online distribution in early 2015. We will utilize every dollar received; if we don't reach our Indiegogo goal, we will continue to seek funding from additional sources.
- Filmmaking can always be a daunting task, and when you are investigating the world’s best-selling herbicide, you better believe that this documentary will aggravate the stakeholders (and the stockholders…) The chemical companies, government entities and corporate lobbyists will surely seize every opportunity to discredit our film as they attempt to protect their interests, so this film must be factual and sound from beginning to end, and we must verify all the details, no matter how small.
- We will approach distinguished and well-known professionals from "both sides of the fence" in order to provide viewers with a balanced perspective of the issues - including researchers, consultants, professors, Big Ag, lobbyists, and industrial and family farmers.
- This film will have a running time of 50 to 60 minutes.
- Extensive travel will be required, and your contributions will make that possible.
- We are planning to employ the narrative skills of an established Hollywood celebrity to add credibility and attract media interest.
- This chemical has never been tested on humans, and we still have no idea what damage it may be doing. If tested had already been conducted, it is very possible that traces of glyphosate would be found inside of all of us, including the bodies of our children.
- Ed Brown's debut documentary Unacceptable Levels took on the entire toxic chemical industry; he is now prepared to take this one chemical to task. It is time to pull back the curtain on the most widely used herbicide in the world.
- This film will act as a driving force to unify the voices and actions of concerned citizens, an umbrella under which individuals, groups and organizations can gather together and take action. It is up to each of us to create a new kind of resistance to stand up to this industry Goliath, and to acknowledge the fact that we have allowed this technology to alter not only our land, but ourselves.
- A New Resistance is about a movement and a campaign, and by participating, you can help make it happen. Together, we can raise public understanding of glyphosate as An Inconvenient Truth exposed climate change and Unacceptable Levels exposed chemical body burden. A better life is possible for all of us.
