Pokemon: Not another Cleffa-hanger ending!

[21:20] <Saia> It's a warm Autumn day and the sun is shining high in the sky. A week ago a man you've never met stopped by to talk to your uncle, but before he left he asked you to meet him at the local Pokemon lab at noon. The odd man was wearing a white labcoat so you're assuming that he works there, though you can't help but wonder why he's asking you to meet him or why he asked you to bring your
[21:20] <Saia> Pokemon along. The time is currently 11:30 AM, if you leave now you could make it to the lab with time to spare.
[21:22] * Selena_Rose is distracted by her Mawile doing something absolutely adorable. She's /eating/ for goodness sake
[21:24] * Selena_Rose watches her Mawile eat and snacks as well for about 10 minutes before realizing the time
[21:24] <Saia> As you watch your Mawile eat time continues to pass. After a while your uncle calls from downstairs, "Selena! Don't you have that meeting soon? It's 10 to 12!"
[21:26] * Selena_Rose jumps in surprise. "Uh-oh, let's go, Nibbles!"
[21:26] * Selena_Rose rushes out the door, with Mawile trailing behind her. "We're gonna be laaaaate."
[21:28] <Saia> The people on the streets move out of your way as you run down the sidewalk, a few narrowly avoiding a collision with you. Many of the shops around town seem to be closed for lunch, their windows dark and signs shut off.
[21:28] * Selena_Rose rushes down the street, a piece of toast in her mouth, as the theme song starts to play

[21:34] <Saia> You notice that a shadow seems to have been following you for quite a while High in the sky you manage to spot a Farfetch'd, a red scarf around its neck flaps in the wind as it flys above you.
[21:35] * Selena_Rose turns her head to look up at the bird, wondering how it's able to fly even though it's holding a leek, before turning back around to make sure she or Mawile don't run into anyone
[21:38] <Saia> Eventually you make it to the lab only to find two girls, both smaller than you waiting outside the door. They both are wearing very similar outfits, a grey collared shirt with a beige pleated skirt, and white labcoats. The older wears a cyan tie while the other seems to wear that same tie as a scarf as it is likely too big to wear normally.
[21:40] * Selena_Rose holds back an enormous gasp, which comes out as a small squeak as she rushes up to them.
[21:40] <Saia> The Farfetch'd lands next to the older one who has a look of worry on her face, constantly looking around her. The younger has a more confident look on her face, one filled with excitement as she sees you. Tugging on the older one's sleeve she speaks, "Sis! Sis! She's here!"
[21:42] * Selena_Rose smiles kindly at them. "Hi there, girls. What're your names?"
[21:42] <Selena_Rose> "Were you two supposed to be keeping look out for me?"
[21:42] <Saia> The older one takes a deep breath before turning to you, "U-uhm....I-I'm here on behalf of t-the professor. H-He's a bit c-caught up at the moment s-so well be helping you today..."
[21:44] <Saia> Upon being asked for their names the two speak in unison, "Yuuki Hall."
[21:45] <Saia> The older one's eyes go wide, "O-oops..."
[21:46] * Selena_Rose puts her hands on her hips in mock-seriousness, "Oh, so you both have the same name?"
[21:47] <Saia> The Farfetch'd jumps up and whaps her on the head with its leek, "Idiot! How many times were you told NOT to give your real name while we were on vacation? Your dad told us we could come back here if you never told people your name and if I never talked in publ-...........I mean quack..."
[21:47] * Selena_Rose gives the Farfetch'd a quizzical look.
[21:47] <Selena_Rose> "...Quack?"
[21:48] <Saia> The small bird takes a look at you, then its trainer, "Your problem now."
[21:48] <Saia> It flies away.
[21:49] <Saia> She raises her hand as if to say "Don't go", but can't seem to get the words out fast enough.
[21:49] * Selena_Rose follows the Farfetch'd with her eyes for a moment, then turns to the two girls. "So you two wanna telling me what all's goin on here?"
[21:50] <Saia> This time the younger one speaks up, "Anyway! Our dad wants to know if you wanna go on your Pokemon Journey."
[21:50] <Saia> The older one finishes, "Y-you just need to pass a test..."
[21:51] * Selena_Rose smiles and crouches next to the younger one. "And will this journey have more talking Pokemon?"
[21:51] <Saia> "Dunno!"
[21:52] * Selena_Rose laughs and places a friendly hand on the girl's head to ruffle her hair before standing up straight and turning to the older girl. "So what's this test?"
[21:53] <Saia> "Y-you just need to c-catch a Pokemon while I watch...."
[21:54] * Selena_Rose grins at the girl. "Well that sounds easy enough."
[21:55] * Selena_Rose raises an eyebrow at the her. "...It is easy, right?"
[21:55] <Saia> Footsteps can be heard behind you as another weird sight passes by, a Machamp wearing a suit walks up to the labs doors, two sandile in his hands. A cick can be heard as he unlocks the door and walks inside. The smaller girl begins to run after him, "That's my uncle Jackie I gotta go with him. Good luck nice lady!"
[21:56] <Saia> Once again the older girl looks like she just got abandoned, after a few seconds she mumbles back, "I-it should be yes..."
[21:56] * Selena_Rose tilts her head in curiosity, but can't help but smile at the girl saying goodbye and waves farewell
[21:58] * Selena_Rose smiles brightly at the girl left with her. "Well if I have any trouble, I'll count on you to give me a hand, alright? So Yuuki, was it? Shall we get going?"
[21:58] <Saia> "S-sure..."
[21:58] <Saia> "Oh!"
[21:59] <Selena_Rose> "Oh?"
[21:59] <Saia> "I was told to give you these...."
[21:59] <Saia> Yuuki digs through her pockets before pulling out two Pokeballs, one empty, the other with a small eye etched into it.
[22:02] <Saia> She hesitantly holds them out, hand quiverring as if she'd pull back at any moment.
[22:02] <Selena_Rose> "Ooooh those are neat"
[22:02] <Selena_Rose> "It's okay for me to take them?"
[22:03] <Saia> "Y-yes....These are g-gifts from my dad..."
[22:03] * Selena_Rose lowers herself to Yuuki's eyelevel and gently takes the balls. "Thanks, Yuuki," she says sincerely.
[22:05] <Saia> She gives a small nod before continuing, "W-we need to go to the forest near the edge of t-town...."
[22:05] <Selena_Rose> Well, you know better than I do. Lead the way, leader!"
[22:07] <Saia> She can do nothing but blush in embarrasment at the name before beginning to walk down the street. She doesn't seem to intend to start talking any time soon.
[22:08] * Selena_Rose smiles and follows after her
[22:10] <Saia> You two continue to walk in silence until you finally reach the sign that indicates the city limits. The remains of a small campfire sit near the sign. The two of you continue on into the brush before Yuuki comes to a sudden stop.
[22:11] * Selena_Rose crouches and whispers, "You see something?"
[22:11] <Saia> "N-no...I just need to do s-something..."
[22:13] <Saia> She pulls another small sphere from her pocket, a large red button sticks out from its surface, Yuuki recites some instructions as she does them, "Press the button and wait for the beep, then throw..."
[22:14] <Saia> She holds down the button for a few seconds, but no beep is heard.
[22:14] * Selena_Rose waits patiently for her instructions, unable to stop smiling in the girl's presence
[22:15] <Saia> Suddenly pink gas begins to erupt from the ball engulfing the area around you. A sweet scent fills your nostrils as you inhale.

[22:15] <Selena_Rose> "Whoah, you alright, there?"
[22:17] <Saia> She chucks the gas emitting ball at the ground before rushing over to you, "Y-yeah...."
[22:17] * Selena_Rose automatically puts a protective hand on the girl's shoulder without really realizing it
[22:18] <Selena_Rose> "So what's that all about?"
[22:19] <Saia> The girl jumps away upon being touched, she mumbles out a response, "I-it's supposed to work like a Repel, b-but in reverse..."
[22:20] <Saia> The bushes around you begin to rustle, a few things seem to be rushing towards the gas and anything that carries its scent.
[22:20] * Selena_Rose retracts her hand, "Oh, sorry. So how's that work?"
[22:21] * Selena_Rose turns her attention to the bushes
[22:23] <Saia> Out of the bushes two small pink shapes emerge, one has large brown ears and resembles a star. The other resembles a round ball with a mountain of fluff at the top. You recognize these as Cleffa and Igglybuff.
[22:24] <Saia> Yuuki rushes to hide behind you, the smell of the sweet smelling gas gets incredibly strong as she gets close. "T-those two, c-catch either and y-you pass..."
[22:25] * Selena_Rose lets out a high-pitched "Ahhhh" at the sight of the two pink Pokemon
[22:25] <Saia> The two Pokemon seem like they're ready to fight and begin to advance towards you.

[22:27] <Saia> "Y-you know how to catch one r-right?"
[22:28] <Selena_Rose> "I think so, but why don't you give me a hand? What's the first step?"
[22:29] <Saia> "Y-you need to battle them w-with a Pokemon of your own...A-after you've weakened them....th-throw a ball at it..."
[22:31] <Saia> "Th-that ball with the eye I gave you has a ralts....you can use it to fight....o-or you could use your mawile....."
[22:32] <Selena_Rose> "Okay, then!"
[22:32] * Selena_Rose turns to her Mawile. "Sorry, sweetie, but let's meet the new one in here!"
[22:33] * Selena_Rose 's eyes light up at the mention of a Ralts
[22:33] * Selena_Rose tosses the Pokeball enthusiastically. "Alright, Ralts let's go!"
[22:36] <Saia> The Pokeball opens and releases a flash of light, as the light clears a small humanoid Pokemon stands before you, its body is a pure white with a green section resembling hair resting at the top of its head. Red horns protrude from the green "hair" adding to the Pokemon's cuteness.
[22:36] <Saia> Ralts has received initiative
[22:37] * Selena_Rose squees and prances in place, delighted
[22:38] <Selena_Rose> ((How do I know which one to go after?))
[22:38] <Selena_Rose> ((Or is it just the one I direct Ralts to attack?))
[22:39] <Saia> ((You can catch one, none, or both))
[22:39] <Saia> Also brb real quick
[22:41] * Selena_Rose points at the Igglybuff "Okay, Ralts! Let's take down that one!"
[22:50] * Selena_Rose "Okay, Ralts, you have Trace?" Ralts turns towards the Igglybuff. Its eyes glow as it takes in the opposing Pokemon's ability.
[22:51] <Saia> Ralts has gained Cute Charm as an Ability
[22:51] <Selena_Rose> "Alright! Now use..."
[22:51] * Selena_Rose turns to the girl hiding behind her. "What moves does it have?"
[22:52] <Saia> "G-growl, confusion, D-double team...and teleport...."
[22:53] <Selena_Rose> "Okay, Double Team, Ralts!"
[22:55] * Selena_Rose Ralts moves rapidly, creating two extra images of itself adjacent to the Igglybuff
[22:56] <Saia> There are now Four ralts surrounding the ball of fluff.
[22:56] <Saia> The Cleffa doesn't seem to like this and attacks the third Ralts with a slap.

[22:58] * Demonbot --> "Saia rolls 1d20-4 and gets 14."
[23:03] <Saia> The copy dissapates on contact, but a small amount of feedback hits the original.

[23:05] <Saia> The igglybuff rolls up into a ball and tries to cover its weakpoints. (Defense curl)

[23:08] * Selena_Rose admires the cute Pokemon and cheers on her Ralts, but does nothing

[23:11] * Selena_Rose points at the Cleffa. "Ralts! Confusion on the Cleffa!"

[23:15] <Saia> The psychic waves hit the Pokemon easily causing it to scrunch up its face in pain. It's beginning to look weak, but it's still standing on wobbly legs.
[23:16] <Saia> It retaliates with a small ball of fire aimed at the 4th Ralts.

[23:16] <Selena_Rose> The ball of fire bursts into the Ralts, dissipating both into nothing

[23:18] <Saia> The Igglybuff seems to get the idea and aims at the first Ralts letting loose a bolt of homing electricity.

[23:42] <Saia> For the second time that day you see a Pokemon get pulled into the ball.

[23:43] * Selena_Rose swoops down and hug her Mawile
[23:44] <Saia> Yuuki seems to breath a sigh of relief, "C-can we leave s-soon? I still have the scent on me and don't want to find anymore..."
[23:44] * Selena_Rose turns to the Ralts and offers a friendly open arm
[23:45] * Selena_Rose the Ralts hesitantly walks towards the outstretched arm and is gently embraced by its new trainer.
[23:47] * Selena_Rose stands up and collects the newly caught Pokemon.
[23:47] * Selena_Rose turns to Yuuki, "Yeah, sorry, let's get going. You know, it's not a bad smell," she says with a wink.
[23:50] <Saia> The two of you quickly return from the forest. The Pokemon in town give her a few funny looks but you make it to the lab without incident.

[23:53] <Saia> When you reach the doors she turns to you, "Th-thanks for today....I was really n-nervous after my dad asked me to do this......Y-you can probably tell but I'm n-not that good around people......"
[23:55] <Selena_Rose> "Hey, that's alright. It was a lot of fun! You did a great job, and thanks to you, I caught my first two Pokemon."
[23:56] <Saia> "I-I'll let him know you passed...H-he said that if you did, to ask y-you to meet back here tomorrow at 4 AM......T-the others will be h-here too and you guys can s-start your journey..."
[23:57] <Selena_Rose> "Whoo, 4 am. That's pretty early. But you can tell him I'll be here!"
[23:57] <Selena_Rose> "Thanks for everything, Yuuki!"
[23:57] <Saia> "O-okay....."
[23:58] <Saia> "Uh...uhm....S-Selena...."
[23:58] <Selena_Rose> "Yes?"
[23:58] <Saia> "W-would it be a-alright if w-we became f-f-friends?"
[23:59] * Selena_Rose tries to contain her outburst and composes herself
[23:59] <Selena_Rose> "Of course, Yuuki! I'd love to be your friend!"
[00:00] <Saia> She seems to brighten up at this, "I-I'm glad....."
[00:00] * Selena_Rose places an affectionate hand on Yuuki's head like she did with her sister. "Me too, sweetie."
[00:01] <Saia> This time she doesn't jump back, instead choosing to stay still and take in the petting, "A-anyway.....y-you should probably go home to pack and rest...."
[00:01] * Selena_Rose smiles at her. "Of course."
[00:02] * Selena_Rose turns to leave and waves goodbye to her new little friend
[00:02] * Selena_Rose Mawile, walking alongside Selena, waves, too.
[00:02] <Saia> Yuuki stays outside waving until well after you're out of sight.
[00:03] <Saia> After she stops she talks to herself, "Did you see that Yang? I made another friend..."
