- >'Damn it, not again!'
- >Your legs burn from sprinting.
- "I can't be late again."
- >You turn a corner.
- >The classroom is in your sights.
- >Your able to find inner strength and push harder.
- >3 seconds to go.
- >You're not gonna make it!
- >Dive through the door as the bell rings.
- >It looked so badass, explosions might as well have gone off in the background.
- >Stand up panting.
- >Everyone's looking at you, some in awe and others in shock.
- >"Mr. Anon! Why are you late?"
- "I'm not late, I dove through the door so I wouldn't be."
- >The teacher gives you the stank eye.
- >"Fair enough, go sit down."
- >Give a sigh of relief.
- >The last thing you need is to get into trouble.
- >Scan the room for a seat.
- >See a hand motioning to you.
- >It's Twilight Sparkle, your best friend.
- >Nod to her and walk over.
- >Place your belongings down and sit.
- >"Sleep through your alarm again?" Twilight whispers, leaning over toward you.
- "Shuddup." You say to your snickering friend.
- >'It's amazing how much she's changed.' You think to yourself.
- >You gaze at her long legs that lead to her firm ass.
- >Her hour glass figure is topped off with the face of a goddess.
- >She has purple eyes that can hold pure happiness and then storming rage.
- >Her smile is bright enough to guide a blind man through the dark.
- >Long locks of midnight blue hair falls well below her shoulders.
- >Every guy in the school wants to be with her.
- >You'd try to go for her, but you know you're in the friend zone.
- >It still amazes you how a girl, that no boy would even wanna be seen with, is now one of the most sought after girls.
- >Throughout her younger years Twilight's looks were no less than... horrible.
- >Boys used to call her, "Terrible Twilight".
- >It wasn't the greatest insult, but it hurt her non the less.
- >That's how you two became friends.
- >One day, a group of boys were chasing her and throwing rocks, trying to hit her.
- >You were walking home from school when you saw this.
- >It wasn't going to fly with you.
- >When they ran across you, you tripped one.
- >His body made a smacking sound when it contacts the ground.
- >The boy sits up and begins to tear up.
- >It made the other two turn around and approach you.
- >"Hey! Who do you think you are?"
- >One of the kids asks while shoving your shoulder.
- "It's rude to pick on girls."
- >The boy who shoved you reels his fist back.
- >Take no time to quickly pop him in the mouth.
- >He stumbles back and checks his bleeding mouth.
- >One boy, large for his age, hammers his fists into the back of your head.
- >You grip the back of your head and sharply turn around to see your attacker.
- >He suddenly picks you up off the ground and slams you on your back.
- >A loud, pain filled moan escapes your mouth.
- >The large boy begins to pound on your face.
- >If it wasn't for the adrenaline and the endorphin rush, you would have blacked out long ago.
- >As the boy brings down his fist to deliver another heavy blow, you move your head.
- >The boys hand hits the hard ,concrete ground.
- >He grabs his hand and hollers in pain.
- >You roll him off you and begin to reverse the roles by beating his face in.
- >The rest of the group of boys tackles you off of him.
- >They circle around you and lay down a storm of kicks and punches.
- >They pummel you for a solid five minutes before they get tired and leave.
- >You lay on your back, looking up at the evening sky.
- >"T-thank you."
- >Sit up and see the girl they were chasing, crying.
- "Why are you crying?"
- >"B-because you got hurt because of me."
- >She tries to wipe her tears away.
- >Stop her from rubbing her eyes.
- >Pull out a small pouch of tissues.
- >You begin to wipe away her tears.
- "It was my decision to take the action I did. I didn't have to help you."
- >She's silent.
- >"M-my name's Twilight.
- >Stop whipping her face with the tissue.
- "That's a beautiful name."
- >She blushes and looks away.
- "I'm Anon. And from now one I'm gonna make sure this doesn't happen to you again.
- >She gives you a quizzical look.
- >"H-how?"
- >Giver her a warm smile.
- "By being your friend."
- >"Anon?"
- >'It's hard to believe it was all those years ago.'
- >"Anoooonnnnnn?"
- >A hand waving in front of your face snaps you back to the present.
- >Twilight smiles to you.
- >"Will you stop blanking out all the time." She asks giggling.
- "I swear I don't mean to!"
- >"Oh well, come on. Walk me to my next class."
- >Look to the clock.
- >It was indeed time for the next class.
- "How long was I thinking?" You ask yourself.
- >"What was that?" Twilight asks.
- "Nothing just talking to myself."
- >Grab your stuff and leave the class with Twilight.
- >"Oh yeah! There's a new girl in school."
- "Oh yeah?"
- >"Yeah, I have to show her around school."
- >Twilight looks to the side.
- >"M-maybe you help me with the tour and afterwards we could get lunch?"
- >She's blushing.
- >Christ she's adorable.
- >Laugh.
- "Sounds great. So where is this new gir-umph."
- >You ran into someone, making them fall to the ground and dropping their items.
- "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. Let me help you."
- >Scramble to the ground to help retrieve the girls books.
- >The girl also scrambles to get her books.
- >"No no, it's my fault I wasn't looking where I was going."
- >And like some type of cheesy romance movie, you both grab the same book.
- >For the first time, you get a look at the girls face.
- >Both you and her sit there shocked.
- "O-octavia?"
- >"Anon?"
- >Both of you sit there shocked to see each other.
- >The bell rings and you scramble to help her collect her books.
- >Both of you stand up, still speechless.
- >She looks to the clock.
- >Her eyes widen in shock.
- >"Oh my gosh, I'm going to be late!"
- >She turns to jog away.
- >Quickly, you grab her hand.
- "Wait! I wanna see you again."
- >She looks around with a blush on her face.
- >"I'm sorry, but I have to go."
- >Release your grip from her wrist.
- >She hurries down the hall to her next class.
- >"What was that all about?" Twilight asks.
- "It's nothing... I just need to think for a second."
- >You begin to storm off.
- >Twilight calls out to you, but you trudge on anyway.
- >You come to a completely dark room.
- >Switch on the light and walk over to the piano.
- >Lift the hatch the guards the keys.
- >The white ivory sticks out from the black mahogany.
- >Your fingers lightly paddle along the keys.
- "This will help."
- >You sit down and begin to play.
- >As you play, your hands and mind go into the song, soothing you.
- >Your worries fade into the tune you play.
- >Any stress leaves you.
- >But you begin to slow down as she reappears into your mind.
- >The music halts.
- >Silence is broken by your own voice.
- "She treated me like a stranger."
- "After all those years."
- >You slump on to the piano.
- "I did kinda drop the bomb on her before she left."
- >"Is that what this is about?"
- >Sharply turn around to see Twilight standing in the doorway.
- "How long have you been there?"
- >"Long enough to figure out you're talented on the piano."
- "O-oh." You say as rose tints your cheeks.
- >"Now tell me what happened back there."
- >You turn to your friend who has a caring look on her face.
- "It's obvious that I've met Octavia before."
- >"One could only assume." She says sarcastically with a giggle.
- >A small grin appears on your face.
- >Twilight walk over to sit next to you on the bench.
- "Where to begin?"
- >"Take your time."
- "It was before you and I met."
- >"Hey Anon!"
- >You turn to see your friend struggling to catch up to you.
- >Poor girl. She's carrying around that big cello. It's bigger than her.
- >She trips and falls to the ground.
- >She tries holding back tears.
- >Roll your eyes and walk over to her.
- "Why must you bring that thing everywhere?"
- >Quickly, you help her up.
- >She tearing up.
- >You give her a soft smile.
- "Hey now. C'mon don't be like that."
- >Begin wiping the tears away from her face.
- "Why would you cry? You're hiding that beautiful smile I love to see."
- >She begins to giggle and blush.
- "There's the smile. Now c'mon or we'll be late."
- >Hoist her cello over your shoulder.
- >"A-are you sure you can carry that?"
- >Stand proudly and puff out your chest with masculine pride.
- "Pshh... This? This is nothing."
- >"If you say so."
- >Both of you make your merrily way toward school.
- >The day goes by quick, and before you know it you hear the dismissal bell ring.
- >"H-hey Anon?"
- "Yes?" You answer while putting your things away in your locker.
- >"Are you nervous for our recital tonight?"
- >Close your locker and face her.
- "No. Why, are you?"
- >She shakily agrees with a nod.
- "What are you afraid of?"
- >"Mrs.Tenner said this would be our biggest performance yet."
- >You and Octavia often perform songs in front of large audiences at small theaters.
- >But this was different, you both had been selected to perform at Canterlot Theater.
- >It's this City's largest theater and well know throughout the country.
- "Have you been practicing?"
- >She gives you a flabbergasted look, as if you offended her.
- >"Of course!"
- "Then there's nothing to worry about."
- >"What if I freeze on stage?"
- >Both of your hands, grab hers.
- >She stunned as you hold her soft hands with yours and look deeply into her eyes.
- "You have beautiful hands Octavia. These are hands that make music for others to enjoy."
- >A deeply red tint is seen on her face.
- "I'll be with you on stage. You have no reason to be afraid."
- "And if you are, just imagine I'm holding your hand."
- >She speechless.
- "Octavia you're a beautiful girl with the talent that surpasses older cellists."
- "Now let's go or we'll be late for the show."
- >You hold her hand as she follows, quietly behind you, the rest of the way home.
- >It wasn't hard to see that you had feelings for Octavia.
- >She didn't seem to know however.
- >But tonight was the night you tell her.
- >Tonight you make her know she's loved.
- >Later that night, at the theater.
- >There's a small tapping on your shoulder.
- >Turn to see Octavia wearing the most spectacular dress.
- >"H-how do I look?"
- >For seconds words don't escape your gaping mouth.
- >"W-well?"
- "You look beautiful."
- >She looks down at the ground.
- >"You look very handsome."
- >'This can't wait.'
- "Octavia I have something to tell yo-."
- >Mrs.Tenner, your instructor, cuts you off.
- >"C'mon you guys are on!"
- >Look over to Octavia who's eyes are wider than a cow look at an incoming train.
- >Gently you lock your hand with hers.
- >She instantly relaxes.
- "Remember, I'm here with you."
- >You walk out together and go to your instruments.
- >Once the last note finishes humming throughout the theater, there is silence.
- >The crowd erupts into applause.
- >You stand and make your way over to Octavia.
- >Once more, you take her hand and make your way to center stage.
- >There, you bow and the audience applauds once more.
- >Both of you take your leave off stage.
- >Immediately you're grappled into a hug.
- >"Anonymous we did it."
- >You heave a chuckle out of your crushing ribs.
- "I told you there was nothing to be nervous about."
- >"You were right!"
- "Anyways with what I wanted to tell you earli-."
- >Mrs.Tenner once again cuts you off.
- >"Octaiva! Mr. Dubose with the Canterlot Orchestra would like a word with you!"
- >Octavia gives you a shrug. "I'll be right back."
- >You sit and watch as Mr. Dubose speaks with Octaiva.
- >Minutes pass until she returns.
- >"Anon I have amazing news!"
- "Well, what is it?!"
- >"You go first."
- "Alright."
- >'It's now or never.'
- "Octavia, I... I love you... I think."
- >She's stunned.
- "I mean I think it's love. I can never stop thinking about you and any time I'm near you, my heart tickles."
- "I know we're young, but I love Octavia."
- >In instinct you pull her close to you.
- >Your waists connect.
- "And I want to be the one to make you smile."
- >You hear sobs escape from her.
- >'No no no no. What did I do.'
- >"Mr. Dubose just offered me to travel with the Canterlot Orchestra."
- >Your heart sinks.
- >"I leave on Monday."
- >Release your grip on her.
- >"I-I'm so sorry."
- "No, I'm sorry."
- >You don't giver her another chance to speak.
- >The scenery of the theater quickly passes by you as you run.
- >Why you ran? You don't know.
- >It could be embarrassment or maybe you hope if you ran fast enough you could undo it all.
- >It didn't help.
- >Now you're outside the theater sitting down on the steps, crying.
- >You never cried.
- >Dad always said " The only thing crying does is dampen the ground beneath you. The world will keep spinning."
- >But this was too much.
- >The pain.
- >It was all too much.
- "After that I tried my best to avoid her."
- >Twilight consoles you by rubbing your back.
- "If I could do it all over again, I'd stay there and wipe her tears away."
- >You turn to Twilight.
- "I'd be the one to make her smile."
- >The school bell rings.
- >Twilight stands up and holds her hand out.
- >"C'mon. Moping around about the past won't help you any."
- >Take her hand and both of you walk out of the room and down the hall.
- >A wave of students come down the hall, all eager to go home for the day.
- >Make your way to the parking lot with Twilight.
- >"Are you gonna be alright?"
- "Yea Twi, I'll be alright."
- >"Okay, just call me if you need me."
- "Thanks."
- >You separate to go to your cars.
- >The whole walk there you stare at your walking feet.
- >Pull out your keys to unlock your car.
- >There's a small tapping on your shoulder.
- >Your frozen when you see who it is.
- >"Hi-i Anon."
- "Octavia... hi."
- >"I wanted to apologize for earlier today."
- >The girl begin to look at the ground, hoping they'll tell her what to say.
- "No I should be sorry."
- >She gives you a quizzical look.
- "That night, after the recital... I should have just kept my mouth shut."
- >"Why's that?"
- "So I wouldn't get hurt!" You snap at her.
- >She seems to take offense to this.
- >"D-do you think I wanted to hurt you?!"
- "I didn't mean it like tha-."
- >"Don't you think I wanted to stay with you?"
- "Well then, why didn't you?"
- >"I thought about it, but you wouldn't answer my calls, you ignored me when I tried talking to you at school." She says through sobs.
- "Well I'm sorry it was hard to face the girl whom I confessed my love to and then stomped on my heart!"
- >Your patience is wearing thin.
- >"I didn't want too!"
- "Really? Because you seemed pretty damn excited to leave!"
- >"It was a once in a life time opportunity."
- >Tears stream down her face.
- >'Why don't I just dry her tears? Why am I angry?
- "Well why didn't you just stay?"
- "Why didn't you just stay with the orchestra? Clearly they were more important."
- >Tears now swell into your eyes.
- >That did it for her.
- >She smacks you across the face.
- >"You don't know anything, do you?"
- >She runs away crying.
- "Why? Why did I say all those things?"
- >The sting of the slap quickly goes away, but a greater pain covers your heart.
- >Slowly, you enter your car.
- >You sit there in silence.
- >'I blew it, again.'
- >an hour passes before you decide to start your car and drive home.
- >Once at home you see a car, that doesn't belong to your family, in the driveway.
- >Enter your house.
- >Your mother calls out to you.
- >"Anon come here, you'll never guess who's here."
- "Coming." You halfheartedly reply.
- >Walk into the kitchen to see Octavia's parents.
- >'Shit...'
- >You forgot the Octavia's parents and your's were friends.
- >"Oh my! Is that little Anon? Oh you've grown so much!"
- "Thanks Mrs. Melody."
- >Mr. Melody seems to be eyeing you.
- >'Maybe he found out about what happened between you and Octavia.'
- "Hey Mr. Melody."
- >He just nods at your greeting, acknowledging your existence.
- >"Isn't this great Anon? Now you and Octavia can hang out like you used too and play music!" Your mother cheerfully says.
- >Octavia's mother interjects.
- >"Oh I'm afraid our Octavia can't play anymore."
- >Your eyes widen.
- >"Oh my goodness, what happened?" Your mother asks with a worried expression.
- >"Well, on there way to one of the concerts their bus taking them flipped."
- >Octavia's mother continues.
- >"There were no fatal injuries, thank goodness, but Octavia broke her hand."
- >"The doctors said a simple surgery could fix i and she'd be able to play in no time. However, she refused."
- >"We think the bus flipping really scarred her and now anytime she gets near a cello she freaks out."
- >"I think her not fixing her hand is just something to tell others."
- >The voices of the two women conversing fade away as you sink into thought.
- >'I never knew. This entire time she'd just gone through something horrible.'
- >You sit on your front steps.
- "I treated her like garbage, all because of something that happened years ago."
- >"That ya did."
- >Octavia's Dad says while sitting down next to you.
- "I take it you know?" You ask nervously.
- >"Well it's hard to not be curious when your daughter comes home in tears, don't ya think?"
- "I-I'm sorry." You say while sinking your head.
- >"Usually when a boy make my little girl cry, they answer to me."
- >You're now really scared.
- >"But I know you Anon. I know you probably just had pent up emotions and didn't now how to deal with it."
- >A heavy sigh comes from you and you relax.
- >"She still cares about you ya know. Every time I'd get done talking on the phone with your dad, she'd always ask how you were doing."
- >You stare off into the ember sky, listening to what he had to say.
- >"She always asked if you were still the same sweet boy."
- >The words you want to say don't escape your lips.
- >"I'm no master of all knowledge, but I do know one thing."
- >For the first time during this conversation he looks at you.
- >"My daughter is very forgiving to the ones she loves. It may not seem like it at first, but trust me, she is."
- >With that being said, he gets up and pats you on the back and calls for his wife so they can leave.
- >Wave a goodbye as they drive off.
- "At least he was straight forward and not some cryptic ass."
- >You walk inside.
- >The first thing that comes to your mind was; 'How can I apologize?'
- >You ponder this thought as you get ready for bed.
- "Maybe I should just be up front about it?"
- >Slowly, you drift into slumber.
- >The Next day, at school.
- >See Octavia sitting by herself.
- >Walk over to her table and sit down.
- "Listen Tavi I wan-."
- >"It's Octavia." She says with a poison in her tone.
- "Okay... Octavia... I'm sorry. I was acting foolish yesterday."
- >She just look down to her food, but you can tell there's forgiveness in her mind.
- >There's a silence between the two of you.
- "Why didn't you get the surgery?"
- >"Excuse me?"
- "Your mother told my what happened. Why didn't you get it?"
- >"That's non of your concern."
- >She gathers her trash and gets up to leave.
- >You follow her into the deserted hall.
- "I just don't understand. You're very talented Octavia."
- >"You wouldn't understand."
- "Is it because of the accident? You can't let that hold you back."
- >She turns to you with a stare that, at first glimpse, would make a child cry.
- >"Just shut up."
- >She begins to lightly beat your chest.
- >It doesn't affect you.
- >You been makin' gains.
- >"You don't know what it's like to relive that moment almost every night."
- >She chokes on her words.
- >Grab her hands.
- >She looks up to.
- >Your trance by her lavender eyes.
- >'She's even more beautiful than before.'
- >"D-do you still want to be the one to make me smile?" She asks as her face draws closer to yours.
- >Hot breath is exchanged between the two of you.
- "Only everyday."
- >"I thought about you all the time while I was gone."
- >"How much I wanted you to hold me. How much I wanted to feel your lips against mine."
- "Octavia..."
- >She advances closer towards your lips.
- "Get the surgery."
- >She taken aback by your suggestion.
- >"W-what?"
- "I want these beautiful hands to make music once more."
- >She pulls her hands away.
- >"And why should I?"
- >Bring her in closer to you, your hips connecting like they did on that fateful day.
- "The greatest joy I ever had was playing with a beautiful girl like yourself."
- >She deeply blushes and stutters to say something, but you shush her.
- "And I know that you loved performing."
- >Look over to see a poster for the school talent show next Friday.
- "Come to the talent show, I'm sure I can convince you to go back to performing."
- >Kiss her on the cheek.
- "Only then will I be able to consider myself right for you."
