» | BACKGROUND ; hyuna's powers didn't show until the age of ten. before that point, her three-member family was tight-knit, despite her father being gone for business trips and projects most of the time; he still found ways to connect with them even without the physical aspect of it. letters and phone calls and sometimes tiny little gifts left in her bedroom if he had to leave early in the morning. when he was home, he'd play with her for as long as he could before he had to do what she called his "homework", and if he was off on a business trip prior to coming home, he'd have some sort of souvenir or knick-knack for her from wherever he was. she was quite a spoiled child. they weren't a poor family; hyuna's father was some big shot president of a successful company, paid a lot more than minimum wage and more than enough for the trips her and her mom would take to visit her cousin and let the two children buy bags of sweets and toys. it was all fine and dandy until one night her father came back home, and immediately went to do his "homework". upset, hyuna tried to grab his attention, but her father kept dismissing her, telling her that the work he was doing was extremely important, without even bothering to look at her. seeing as she was still a spoiled ten year old who /hated/ being ignored, hyuna became even more upset the more her father denied her, and at some point her temper blew, and her father's computer had combusted in flames, along with the table it had been on. after her mom put it out, her father threw a fit, and though her mom was more than protective of her baby girl, her father was in a rage, and threatened to out hyuna for her powers unless she moved out. when her mom started arguing with him, her dad said that she should go with her, too, or else he'd say that they both committed arson (even though she was only ten). when they moved out, hyuna and her mom were lucky enough to have an apartment given to them by her mom's teaching job at the university of seoul. since that didn't really pay as much as her father's job, their budget was cut down to less than the cheapest thing that hyuna had bought in her ten years of existing. it was a gigantic change, especially since she had to learn how to take care of herself on the days her mom came back home from her two jobs and was too tired to cook. in the time since her power developed, hyuna didn't really have any close friends to rely on; sure, she had friends, but they weren't /friends/. it was mostly because of the taboo of having a single mom, and the sudden change of her financial standing. she still communicated with her cousin, and she couldn't hide the fact that she and her mom had been kicked out from him for long. he was protective of her, and always told her to just drop all the fake people who pretended to be her friend, but she just couldn't. her mom had too much on her plate as it was, and the smile on her mom's face whenever hyuna would answer her 'how did school go?' question with something about her classmates (whom she referred to as her friends). so when it was obvious that she wasn't going to budge, her cousin instead decided to just do what they always did best together; perform random songs. whether it was bad, or good, she and her cousin would just let go and have fun. it was his way of distracting her from whatever she was stressing about, and sometimes they would even put on a show for her mom, when she had the time. when her cousin was recruited, she was more than happy for him, but slightly disappointed that she couldn't really talk to him more. during his time in training, he would urge her to come join the company he was under, but she had heard things about that company that she didn't really like, and didn't really feel that it would be the best option for her and her mom. but she did work at a lounge as a waitress since the age of thirteen, and sometimes sang there during her breaks when she felt like it. and, as if it was fate, she was approached by a recruiter for an entertainment after a year of working there. after asking her cousin for advice ('yes you little shit do it !!!') and thinking about the chances, she decided to go and audition for the company, later on being accepted.

» | PERSONALITY ; people usually make jokes about how she could be the second kim hyuna. they say that she had that allure-- the face that people wanted to look at. though most girls would feel honored and accept that fact, hyuna disagreed with that theory. she wasn't like the already-famous one-- she was calm, and not one to speak much. she wasn't a social person, nor was she a charismatic one. as her own person, you could say that hyuna was a safer, less interesting option. except when you take time out of your day to befriend her. she's a clingy person, and immediately wants to be your friend if it seems that you're even the least bit interested (or genuine) when you talk to her. but she isn't one to admit those kinds of feelings, thinking that it would freak anybody out, and sometimes she becomes someone that confuses you with her hot-and-cold personality. she also tends to act like you two have known each other since the beginning of time if you become close to her in the slightest, and is quite... physical when it comes to showing affection. seeing as she doesn't really have a clue about how to show that, she tends to go the sarcastic route, and does what she likes to call "friendly roasting". hyuna is someone that likes to go outside the box, and also incredibly carefree, which means that it's more than likely that she'll invite you on her adventures. hyuna is also someone that becomes incredibly protective over anyone that's close to her (especially her family), since she doesn't want them to feel hurt, and usually has to be held back from (physically) attacking whoever decided to mess with those she cared about. it doesn't matter if she was all smiley before-- hyuna won't hesitate to become a devil's spawn in a snap. honestly this paragraph is shit just reference cha eunsang from the heirs jesus christ.

» | STAGE PERSONA ; serim is someone that acts completely different to how hyuna (not the already-famous one) acts behind the scenes, and acts exactly like hyuna (the already famous one). serim is someone who knows what to say and when to say it; a girl bursting with charisma and a personality that makes pretty much everyone fall for her. during variety shows, she's usually the one that gets picked on for how different her image is for a rapper (seeing as she's quite soft looking, if you use shinhye). she cracks jokes, and usually tries to embarrass the younger members. out and about, she's a very alluring person, and one that makes people turn heads (she's the face of the group for a reason). even onstage, she makes lives up to the comparison with her hot fire raps and sexy aura (idk that's what it is).

      he's her cousin on her father's side, and they're actually pretty close considering they've had a lot of similar interests since they were children, and hyunjoo actually looks up to him a lot (not that she'd ever admit that to him). the two have contact whenever they can, mostly through text or skype calls. he's very protective of her and is pretty much the passive aggressive older brother in her life. he doesn't know about her powers, and her father doesn't know that they're still in contact.
