Reasoning: With the formation of the 'Stratus of Order', Salt was designated by Acai to join the order. With his views aligning with Rosemary, Sango, and Acai's own, he's sent an invitation to join them in maintaining the 'order' within the world. With the rank of 'Guardsman' being bestowed upon him, he takes the opportunity to work diligently upon his craft while there's a lapse in horror and strife. After coming face to face with Icebox and his company, he realizes the significant gap in power between them, providing some insight as to what he has to prepare for in the event they come to blows.

 Said forces nearly instigate a battle with Salt and his comrades, as they destroy the Namekian village and leave a massive crater in its wake. After said events transpired, Salt takes it upon himself to begin his training in earnest, to push past the far more difficult barriers that prevent him from unleashing Durandal's full might. He seeks the aid of Fiddel and Sumire, who both instruct and aid him in their training.  He's defeated soundly, even by the likes of Chamo, who is notorious for losing their battles! His inexperience becomes clear to him, and thus attempts to discern on what he needed improvements on. Their suggestions allow him to glimpse into his short-comings, where he there-in works diligently to create his own fighting style and increase his sword proficiency in the wake of more Oasis-related deaths.

 War is likely looming on the surface, and the Dragons are coming soon, as warned by Kori. There's little he can do, outside of preparation work and ensuring that those around him are equally prepared for the horrors to come.
