Patch thoughts

So the new patch has ups and downs.(Regarding 2FMHD specifically)
The ups are - It fixed final xemnas, quick run is faster, and save crashing(supposedly)
The downs (For speedrunning) are - Things that suck in enemies such as magnet and chicken little are much slower and it effects some strats, marluxia loop isn't viable for data org, and luxords cards are inconsistent

There are more things but these are what i care about most

The downs from the patch seem to exceed the ups from the patch speedrunning wise, which means 1.03 is slower than 1.02. We haven't timed everything and compared it yet, but after what ive tested and timed, it looks slower and less consistent.

So this has left me in a weird spot. My current any% PB's are fairly optimized in 1.02 although they should still be beatable in 1.03. The fact that i would have to work harder to beat my current pb in crit and beginner on 1.03 and there's nothing i can do about it besides not update is really demotivating. Most people i've seen in the community have already updated to 1.03, and as far as i know there is no way to revert, which means if i stayed on 1.02 i would be mostly by myself. I thought about going back to 2FM original, although i've become so used to fast loads and different route/strats on ps4 that ps2 isn't that fun right now, especially considering i would be mostly by myself on original 2FM as well. Basically my options are run on 1.03, a slower more inconsistent version, or run a category without competition. All of this is just really demotivating for me, especially considering the fact that SE could release another patch that completely changes the speedrun once again. Dealing with a speedrun that could be patched and change at any moment isn't fun imo(There is a possibility that SE never releases a 1.04 but we have no way of knowing).

So because of all this, i really feel like taking a break from 2FM. Maybe i'll try speedrunning a different game for a bit, but i'm not sure yet. Im just gonna wait and see what i feel like doing after a while
