- I tried to push her spear back as it locked with my sword, but her strength was too much, even for mine. What use was a high Strength score when she was three or four times my level? She could have a D score in it and still be stronger than me. My shield fell, released as my other hand came to settle on the flat of my blade and push it even harder against her. Sweat dribbled down my brow, but through the haze of exhaustion, I thought I saw the same with her. "We'll never stop," I growled.
- "You will when you're dead, fool."
- "Not even then." I gave up on the contest of strength but angled my sword to the side, causing her to overshoot and lunge past my head.
