  1. Dear Recruiter,
  2. I am excited for the opportunity to work at BlackBerry as a Security Automation Student. I believe that my ability to learn quickly, and my experience working with teams to successfully take projects from start to end would be an asset to your organization. In addition, my knowledge of SQL and HTML, along with my excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills would make me a great fit for the collaborative and cutting-edge environment at BlackBerry.
  3. As a Mathematics student at the University of Waterloo, I have taken several courses which have helped hone my skills at programming, logical thinking, and problem solving. I have also been working with the C programming language for over two years, and have worked with SQL and HTML previously, both in school and in a company setting.
  4. Furthermore, I have gained experience working in IT departments on projects involving user support, as well as database creation and management: I collaborated with a coworker to develop a database for Massy Technologies – an IT subsidiary of a conglomerate, Massy Group – under minimal supervision, and as a result helped the company record and manage their inventory of hardware and software products more efficiently.
  5. Along with a coworker, I also created a database to aid in the recording and evaluation of potential employees in a job fair run by Digicel Ltd, a midsized mobile phone network provider, greatly sped up the process of filtering applicants, and as a result was asked to work with the company longer in order to improve their existing systems.
  6. I am hardworking, excited to learn new technologies, and believe in staying focused while striving for my goals- this is evident in my achieving several awards in my academic life, such as a national Open Scholarship in the field of ICT from the government of Trinidad and Tobago. I also believe that my excellent written and verbal communication skills, gained through working in several professional environments, would greatly benefit your company.
  7. I would very much value the opportunity to meet with you and discuss how I would use my skills to positively contribute to BlackBerry. If you have any questions, please contact me at tghender@edu.uwaterloo.ca, or at (647) 831-9446. Thank you for your consideration.
  8.
  9. Sincerely,
  10.
  11.
