- The chandeliers glowed gently over head, bright enough to illuminate the room yet seeming like they were millions of miles away, like tiny stars in a night sky. You recognized the room you had so often met with the large Sakhran man in, yet you didn't recall ever looking up to the roof above you.
- "Silas. Great men are born, not made. Yet while a commoner can never achieve greatness, someone born for nobility or power can certainly squander it, and throw it away. Do you think you can play at the destiny that was laid out before you and still have all you desire?" The voice belonged to the sakhra, and after a brief pause you hear the sound of silverware tapping together.
- As you started on your response, a sharp pain shot through your body. A stabbing sensation shot through your side, and your carefully crafted words were replaced with a scream from your own mouth, the only sound in the room besides a light chewing that followed after it.
- "Do you not know who it is you serve, Silas? The crawling chaos, the black demon, the dweller in the darkness, the haunter of the dark, the God of the bloody tongue." Another sharp pain shot through you, this time in your leg, again followed by chewing from beside you. You thrashed about, making to get up and face your tormentor, but thick chains held you at your wrists, ankles, and throat. "Yet, there are things yet even older than I. Soon you and your companions will set upon them. What happens as a result of this? I care not. My machinations will continue on unabridged all the same. Just know that in time, you will come to serve the Red Hand. Their success is important to me, because their success is important to my own master. You're destined for great things, Silas. Do not let yourself be consumed by the world before you can accomplish them." Suddenly, the face of the well dressed man, small dribbles of blood falling from the sides of his lips, stood over you. He lowered his fork and knife to your face, smiling. As you shut your eyes, preparing for the misery, only silence followed. As you opened them, you saw the morning sun.
