Essentially, magic with weird mechanics
an SCP/parahuman/anomaly that's only special trait, is its ability to influence the amount of reality in an area
To use that sand analogy...
It'd be like scooping up handfuls of sand on your own and dropping them elsewhere, on an otherwise flat beach
The effects would be varyin
varying, even
And I feel either extreme this anomaly could induce would be dangerous
It suddenly takes all the reality out of an area, and now everything within there is pure abstraction
Ideas stripped from their attached objects and given physical form
A human might just cease to exist along with the physics that they live within, reduced to a cloud of visible emotion

Too much reality... I was imagining it as more or less exposing those within the effect to higher and higher planes of reality, new physics, some of it survivable, some of it not
Maybe the sheer amount of real you drop on them tears through the plane of your reality, like dropping a rock into the sand
Bridges your reality to another, one not as conducive to carbon-based life
Weird stuff like that
