= STEP 1 - PREPARING YOUR SAVEDATA AND GETTING YOUR SAVEDATA ON YOUR USB DRIVE =
================================================================================

1. Start UMVC3 and create a save file if you don't have one
2. Go to your license by hitting R1
3. Remember your reserve unit or change your reserve unit to whatever characters you want (I recommend setting the first two characters in reserve unit A to Ryu and Chun-Li)
4. Exit your license and let the game save, then exit UMVC3 and return to the XMB
5. Plug your USB drive into one of the USB slots on your PS3
6. Go to save data utility and transfer your save from the PS3 onto the USB drive

= STEP 2 - EDITING YOUR SAVEDATA =
==================================

1. Plug the USB drive into your computer (You can back this up if you want are afraid you'll mess up)
2. Download and install Brute Force Sava Data Tool and then open it as administrator, it will ask you if you want to update cheats either close it or download the update
3. Locate your savedata on the USB drive with BFSD tool by clicking the three dots
4. After locating your savadata find DATA0.DAT and right click it then Decrypt PFD - DO NOT DECRYPT ALL OR DECRYPT PARAM.SFO THIS WILL JUST CAUSE PROBLEMS
5. On the USB drive open DATA0.DAT with any hex editor of your choice
6. If it comes up asking to replace PARAM.SFO or do anything to PARAM.SFO say NO and from this point on if it asks for you to do something to PARAM.SFO say NO
7. With your hex editor use the search function and search for "XX 00 00 00 XX" with XX being the hex value of your first two characters in the reserve unit (If your first two characters in the reserve unit were Ryu and Chun-Li search for 01 00 00 00 02)
8. There should be three sets of values that go like "XX 00 00 00 XX 00 00 00 XX" These are you reserve unit teams to change them replace XX with whatever character value you want (If your reserve team unit A was Ryu, Chun-Li and Magneto it would be "01 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 1D" after that would be reserve unit B then C )
9. Save your changes in the hex editor and you may now close the hex editor
10. Right click DATA0.DAT again and click Apply Cheats or press CTRL+K
11. In the cheats menu tick "Update (required)" and then click apply
12. Right click DATA0.DAT for the the last time and select Encrpyt PFD
13. Verify PFD and everything should be OK, if it does not come back OK and has red text delete the current savedata and if you backed it up on your PC place it back on the USB drive and try from STEP 2.1 if not start from STEP 1.5

= STEP 3 - PUTTING THE SAVEDATA BACK ON THE PS3 =
=================================================

1. Plug the USB drive into your PS3
2. Using the savadata tool from your PS3 copy the savadata from your USB to your PS3
3. Start UMVC3 and if everything loads fine your ready to go (IF IT SAYS SAVE CORRUPTED START FROM STEP 2.1 OR STEP 1.5 YOU PROBABLY DID SOMETHING TO PARAM.SFO OR CHANGED THE WRONG VALUES IN DATA0.DAT)

= TROUBLESHOOTING =

THE SAVE DATA SAYS IT'S CORRUPTED ON THE PS3 SAVE DATA UTILITY WHAT DO I DO?
You probably did something to PARAM.SFO or changed the wrong value while hex editing, start over.

THE GAME SAYS THE SAVE DATA IS CORRUPTED WHAT DO I DO?
Same as the previous answer, start over.

I DON'T HAVE THE CHEAT "Update (required)" WHAT DO I DO?
I don't know what causes this but it's easy to fix
	1. With your savedata open in BFSD tool click "Cheats >"
	2. In the drop down box select "Edit Cheats"
	3. If there's something in there just delete it all and paste this in
