  1. In the Darling mansion, Wendy Darling was looking through her photo album and saw an old picture of her and Alice, a friend of hers that she had a crush on. "If I only got to confess back then. Perhaps I'll invite her over to tea." Wendy thought to herself as she looked through the cabinets for paper and ink. Ever since Alice moved to the countryside instead of the the city, Wendy thought that she'll never see her again. "Pity that she moved." She said, silently as she looked through the album.
  2.
  3. Moments later, her mother came into the room with a concerned look on her face. "Wendy, what are you looking for?" Wendy, not willing to to tell her mother on what she was doing looked away from the cabinet and looked at her. "Well, mother. Just looking for my, bedsheets. That's right, bedsheets." Wendy fibbed, with a small blush on her face. "Oh, that's unusual. I thought you know on where they were, dear?" As Wendy's mother raised an eyebrow at her, Wendy's heart started to beat or embarrassment and her face was beginning to sweat. "Well, I guess my head got stuck in the clouds today." Wendy said, with a small shiver, and started to continue to look for the ink and paper. "There we are!" Wendy thought out loud and quickly went to her desk to write a letter to Alice.
  4.
  5. The letter wrote out:
  6. Dear Alice,
  7. How've you been, my dear friend? I do miss you quite dearly. I'be been busy with my mother and the siblings as usual. Father's off to war, so, I have to watch the my brothers. They, of course, are playing pretend as usual. I hope that you hare having a grand time in the countryside. I would like to get together with you one day. How about a meet up in the park by my mansion? You know, that place we used to play at? Hopefully, we will catch up. We can have a picnic, and play again, like we used to before you moved. Please write back!"
  8. Sincerely,
  9. ~Wendy Darling~
  10.
  11. As soon as Wendy wrote the letter, she quickly snuck out of the house, to find a mailbox. She slipped the letter into the box, and she knew that the letter in return would be coming back slowly, since of course, the countryside is far from the city. "Well, let's wait a couple of weeks." Wendy thought to herself, as she got back into her mansion to take care of her brothers.
  12.
  13. Meanwhile, in the countryside of England, Alice was playing with her cat, Dinah in her garden. She was playing in the afternoon until her sister came to her with an envelope. "Alice, I believe this belongs to you." Her sister said, with a small grin. "Oh, what's this?" Alice asked herself, with a curious grin as she opened up the envelope. In it, a letter appeared, and it was a letter from Wendy. As soon as the blonde haired teen read it, a small tear shed from her eye. "Oh, Wendy. I miss you too." Alice said to herself, as she looked at it. She did miss her dearest friend, Wendy Darling, and ever since her father lost her job, Alice's family had to move to the countryside.
  14.
  15. "Mom, dad? You remember Wendy Darling? She was my best friend and she wrote me a letter, inviting me to visit her and the family!" As her parents looked at her, and the letter, they remembered the little girls having a grand time before they had to move. "Alice, we miss her too. She was a sweet girl, and it would be grand to visit her and see the city again." Alice, heading that, felt excited, and hugged her parents. "Thank you, mom and dad. I'll write her back now!" Alice ran up to her room and got paper and ink.
  16.
  17. Dear Wendy,
  18. As soon as I received that letter, I felt glad to hear from you again. My family and I are going quite well actually. The countryside is very beautiful and, at times, boring. So, it would be nice to see the city again. Sounds like your brothers like to play pretend as well, just like me. I would love to see you and your family again, and meeting you at the park would be quite lovely. I'm thinking about next Saturday, at one o' clock, sharp, cannot wait to see you, my dear friend, Wendy!"
  19. Love, Alice
  20.
  21. A couple of weeks later, Wendy got a letter in the mailbox by her house and it was from Alice. She held the letter close to her heart, as it was beating. Ever since she was ten years old, Wendy developed a crush on Alice, and of course, she didn't want her parents to know her secret. She came into the house, with a piece of paper. "Oh, what's that, dear?" Her mother asked, with a small smile. Wendy, hearing her mother's question, looked up at the elderly woman and smiled. "A letter mother. You remember Alice? You know, the blonde haired girl I used to play with before she moved? Her family is coming to visit the city for the weekend. Isn't that grand?" As Wendy's mother looked at the letter, she nodded, as she started to remember the two girls playing before Alice moved. "Oh, yes. I do remember her. It'll be grand to see her and her lovely family again." "Alice?" One boy asked in a white shirt and pants with glasses and a hat. Wendy looked at John and nodded. "Alice is a dear friend of mine who played with me. She and I were neighbors until Alice moved away. She's visiting soon; I'm sure you and Michael will remember her face once she arrives." Wendy replied, with a small red blush going across her cheeks, trying to not give out the hint of her having feelings for her friend.
  22.
  23. A couple of days later, Alice was in the car with her family, driving to the city. She was looking at the window with Dinah. "Hey, Dinah, ready to see Wendy?" The orange tabby kitten looked up at her and gave out a small, "mew." "Well, glad you are." Alice looked at her and playfully tapped it's nose and looked at the window again. "This will be fun. Wendy and I playing in the park, going out for ice cream, and having a grand time having a picnic." She said to her kitten, with an excited tone. A couple of hours later, Alice's family was at the mansion, and she rang the doorbell. Wendy, being dressed up in a blue dress with curls in her hair, ran downstairs and opened the door. "Wendy Darling! How've you been?" Alice asked, and gave her a hug. Wendy, with a blush, hugged her friend back. "Alice, so wonderful to see you again! Come inside!" Alice and her family went inside the mansion. "Mother, Alice and her family are here!" As soon as Wendy's parents, including siblings went downstairs, they saw the blonde haired girl and her family. "Hello, Gertrude, Tom, Mathilda. Good afternoon." Wendy's mother greeted, with a grin." "Hello. Been so long ever since we moved to the countryside. It was a lovely idea for the girls, to arrange the get together." Gertrude said, with a grin. "Yes, indeed. It seemed like years ago since we saw one another." Wendy's mother replied.
  24.
  25. In the meantime, Wendy was giving Alice a tour of the mansion and Alice was shocked on how it got upgraded compared to what she saw when she was only ten years old. "My Wendy, your house got bigger, compared to our house, which is quite small." "Yeah, it's just me and my two brothers who play in the house most of the time." Wendy replied, with a small grin. "What a pity. Wish I was here to play with you, and keep you and your brothers company." Alice reassured, with a hug. "Yeah, but you're here now and that's all it matters. I missed you." Wendy relied, and hugged back. "So, what as we do? How about that park plan?" Alice suggested, while releasing the hug. Wendy, hearing that suggestion, nodded with excitement. The two girls then ran down to their parents and looked up at them.
  26.
  27. "Mother, Alice and I will be going to the party. May we go?" Wendy asked, with an excited smile. Her mother looked at the both of them and nodded. "Sure, be sure to be back before supper..." A few seconds later, two little boys, Michael and John heard "park" from the steps. "Can we go too, mother?" John asked. Wendy rolled her eyes, wanting it to be just her and Alice only. "Well, boys, be sure to listen to Wendy." "We will." Michael said, with a toy ballon in his hand. "I'll go too. So, I can watch the two boys." Mathilda offered and smiled at the two Darling sons.
  28.
  29. At the city park, Wendy and Alice did catch up as to what both families were doing. Wendy told Alice that her mother kept the same job and her father was fighting in the war for a while, but, before going into the army, he was a lawyer. So, he did come home every once in a while to continue his job and to take care of the family, unless he got drafted once again. "Quite interesting. Glad that your family is continuing to do well. My father's quite busy being, well, a gamer at our family barn. I have to say, it's hard work, keeping up and maintaining the chores, but least it's something. My mother has been body with being the housewife and we sometimes go out horseback riding and it's nice. You'll love the countryside. There's country dances, horseback riding, and beautiful gardens. I bought pictures to show you!" Alice took out her purse and pulled out photographs of the flowers, her pet horse, and the family farm. "Wow, it does look lovely. It does look lovely. I would like to visit it sometime, especially the horses. They look lovely, compare to our horses, that still help people travel." Wendy commented, as she was intrigued while looking at the photographs. She then looked into the blonde girl's eyes with a blush once again, with a chuckle. Alice, seeing the blush, looked at her with a small smirk.
  30.
  31. "What's with the face, Wendy?" As Wendy heard her question, she looked up at her with a nod. "It's nothing, Alice. Nothing really." She replied, nodding her head, as she did not want to reveal that she had a giant crush on her. "Well, do you like someone? Like, at your school perhaps?" Wendy, hearing the curious teen, felt her cheeks glowing again and felt her body sweating with nervousness. "Em, I don't like anyone." Alice scooted on closer, with her eyes with curiosity looking at hers. "C'mon, silly girl. You can tell me. I won't tell your parents or brothers, since, you know on how little boys like to tease." Alice said, with yet, another look of curiosity. As Wendy gulped, she looked at her with a sigh, ready to reveal her giant secret, and looked up right at her, with a shy facial expression. She was ready to confess to her childhood friend, that she, Wendy Darling, had a crush on her best friend. "Alright. Well, Alice, I have, a crush on you. You've been really sweet and nice to me while growing up. I just want this friendship to turn into.." "Something more?" Alice interrupted and kissed her cheek. As Wendy felt the kiss, she blinked her eyes. "You, liked me as well, Alice?" Wendy asked, with a shocked, yet surprised look on her face. Alice looked at her and nodded. "Well, I secretly did while I was having a grand time with you and while playing with you, I, blushed. Well, while secretly liking you, I was being forced to date this young man, whom was such a bother, and worst of all, it's one of my sister's friend's son. I thought he came home from a bad family.. and yeah, you got my point." Alice said, and kissed Wendy's forehead. "Alice, I don't know what to say right now. You had a.." "Crush on you, yes. I didn't tell my parents, including Mathilda, that I had a crush on you as well. When you sent me that letter, I felt as though, I was flattered; more than flattered actually. I, sort of blushed. Thinking that I'm going to see you again, after all these years. It's just wonderful seeing you again!" Alice confessed, and hugged her. Wendy was shocked, not knowing that the little blonde haired young woman had a crush on her. "Well, then, I guess, want to go on an ice cream date? I'll pay." Wendy offered, and she released the hug and got off the grass.
  32.
  33. Alice got up and nodded. "Absolutely. Let's just keep this to ourselves. I'm sure our parents will support us, hopefully." Alice replied, and put her arm around Wendy's shoulders. During that afternoon, Wendy and Alice did go out on that date while eating their ice cream, Wendy took a quick picture of them with her camera, making this moment a memorable one. The two girls then took a long walk, hand in hand, and even giggled at each other's jokes. It was a grand afternoon and date, even though they were not going to tell their parents until another year older. For now, the two girls decided to take it slow, by giving kisses on the cheeks and foreheads, to just simply holding hands. These girls were just two best friends, oblivious of their own feelings for one another, and although this after was only a first date, there will be more, hopefully in the future.
  34.
  35. After their long walk, the girls watched the sunset, hand in hand, and thought that it was beautiful. While the sun was going down, Wendy realized that she and Alice got caught in the moment of their date. "Oh my. Better go before your sister finds us." "Yeah, good idea, but first..." Alice then kissed Wendy's lips gently and hugged her. Wendy's eyes widened and kissed back, while hugging her gently. The kiss only lasted for a couple of seconds. "Always wanted to do that." Alice commented, with a small wink, and the two girls ran off to look for Mathilda and the two brothers, who were just sitting by an apple tree. "Oh, hey girls. Ready to go home for supper?" She asked. The two girls nodded in unison and the five of them went back to Wendy's mansion for dinner. That night, during dinner, the two girls didn't bother to discuss on their kiss and decided to keep it amongst themselves. They say together, with one hand amongst the other, intertwined. "Mother, can Alice and I have a sleepover tonight?" Wendy asked, with a pleading look. Wendy's mother nodded. "Well, I would say yes, but the visit was only for today, and you know on how the roads get in the morning.." "Hey, do not worry. One night won't kill us. Besides, do you have a guest bedroom?" Mrs. Darling nodded, as though she was trying to say, "yes." "Alice will sleep in my room." Wendy interrupted. Mrs. Darling shrugged. "Well, I guess that'll be fine. But, then, Alice would have to leave in the morning, understood?" Wendy then looked up at her and nodded. "Understood, mother."
  36.
  37. Alice did have a blush on her face at the thought of the both of them sleeping in the same room, but, it'll be fun, and private, so, they could talk about their "date." As soon as it was around bedtime, the two girls, although in separate beds, just blushed, while looking at one another. "So, Alice, did you have fun today?" Wendy asked, and sat on the same bed as her. "Indeed. It was fun hanging around with you again. That kiss, was the best part though." Alice commented, as she was playing with her. Wendy, nodded at that comment and smirked. "Want to.." Alice, knowing on what she was trying to say, leaned over and kissed her again, silently, so, their parents won't hear them. After a couple of seconds, the kiss got released, and they both were about to sleep. "Love you, Wendy." Alice whispered. "Love you too." Wendy responded, and the two girls went to sleep in separate beds.
  38.
  39. The next morning, the two families had breakfast, and Alice did have to go back home. "Well, thank you for having us over for the day and evening. It was grand. We have to do this again." Gertrude said, with a small smile. Alice did tear up a bit, not willing to go back home. "Mother, when will we see Wendy again?" "Don't worry. We will travel again soon to visit them." Alice started to feel a bit better and hugged Wendy. "Don't worry, I'll have the picture that we took yesterday, to of course, keep as a memory. I have one for you too." Wendy went into her room and got the picture and Alice and gave it to her. "Thank you, Wendy!" Alice exclaimed, and hugged her. "I hope we'll do this soon!" She said, and gave Wendy one last hug before going to her family's car. "I'm sure we will, Alice. I'll never forget this event." Wendy said, and waved. "Bye, Alice! Be sure to write!" Alice waved back, and held the photo close to her heart, not forgetting the date.
  40.
  41. Although Alice's visit was very short, at least Wendy and Alice finally got a chance to spend some time with one another and catch up. They also went out on a date, which although was an afternoon one, they got their dream accomplished and they had confessed to one another, and now they're secretly girlfriends until the end. Wendy, hoped that in the future, that she will go on another date again with Alice. She held onto the picture, missing her already. "I love you, Alice." She whispered to herself as she kissed the picture and put it in a female so, she could remember the wonderful date she had, the date she'll never forget.
