We went out to the bar to get another drink and as the two of us got up to the counter I noticed a guy and a girl talking.  The girl (6) drew up close to the guy and whispered in a not-so-quiet voice

6: I can't tell if those two guys standing behind you are gay or not...

guy: -glances around to see who she's talking about-

me: (I give him a sincere grin, and before he can say anything or turn back) hey man, I guarantee neither one of us is gay (then I look over his shoulder and give the 6 a funny look

6: -buries her face in her hands- OHHH MY GODDD!! I'M SO EMBARRASSED RIGHT NOWW. I ALLLWAYS DO THIS! I'M SOOOO LOUD!!!

The guy is just laughing at how embarrassed the girl is, so I stick out my hand and shake his and ask him about where good places to go might be.  The whole time the girl is just cowering in how embarrassed she is, but I'm ignoring her.  After we finish talking and I get him laughing a bit, the girl comes round to my side and starts talking to me.

6: -apologizing profusely and touching my arm etc-

me: Yeah- this right here is my coworker... NOTHING ELSE (I say it slow and loud as if pretending she's a bit slow herself) well hey look- if you're really that sorry about it how about you make it up to me by buying me a drink?

6: oh yeah sure, definitely!

me: (I turned her down cause I actually had one in my hand, and then) alright well cool it was nice meeting you both. We'll see you around!
