BACKGROUND : born in nagoya, japan, chinatsu lived there for only two years before her family moved to boston because of better job opportunities for her father. she lived there, quite contently, until she turned twelve, when news of her grandmother falling ill reached them. wanting to be closer to her, the family decided to move to korea and care for her. (luckily, she fully recovered, but her father decided that they might as well stay in korea.) although she was in a completely foreign environment with a language she'd only recently started learning, chinatsu had a (relatively) easy time conforming and adjusting to her new life. one day while she was running errands for her mother, she accidentally ran into a very very,,, happy guy, and they instantly clicked. she became extremely close friends with him, and as they talked more and more, she discovered that his name was baekhyun, he was training under sm entertainment to debut as an idol, and he found out that she was actually a decent dancer. after this revelation, he begged her for weeks to audition for a company because "talent like that shouldn't go to waste." chinatsu didn't really believe him, but decided to humor herself and did try out -- for sm, because from what she had gathered, it was one of the hardest companies to get into. she was EXTREMELY surprised that she had actually become a trainee, but baekhyun was overjoyed that she was under the same company as him. deciding not to let the opportunity go to waste, she trained as hard as she could, and as a result, she didn't really communicate with her family well. during her trainee period, her cousin (and closest family member) tadashi got extremely sick. because sm didn't really feel the need to tell her immediately, chinatsu didn't find out until almost a week after someone had tried to tell her. distraught and extremely worried, she begged the company for just a week off to fly to japan and visit him, but they denied her request. she was enraged and anxious for such a long time, until a month later when someone finally told her that tadashi had gotten better (almost two weeks before, if i might add.) at this point, she didn't feel anything but hate for the company, but decided to stay. she was furious when she discovered, six months later, that tadashi had moved to korea and joined sm too, but she tried to put that behind her and just be glad that he actually made it in -- until she overheard a very interesting conversation. two of the trainers had been conversing, and chinatsu didn't mean to eavesdrop. but when she heard them talking about how tadashi will never debut, and he just got into the company because they "felt bad for him because of his sickness" and "he was related to that one trainee, and we were hoping he would have some sort of talent," she couldn't help but listen. at this point, she wanted to leave the company and drag tadashi by the ear out, but she knew he would never leave of his own will, and so she stayed -- for him.

PERSONALITY : chinatsu is probably the wackiest person you will ever meet, and she knows it. loud and seemingly willing to do anything to be the center of attention, she lives on the edge of everything and can be kind of frightening. she does have a habit of saying stupid things or just things that don't make sense, which is why people almost always ignore her or laugh at her antics, not taking her very seriously. as a result, every action she takes to try and "be at the center of attention" usually fails as people overlook her slightly, only paying attention to her when she says something particularly memelike or amusing. chinatsu is the type of person who, although she can come off as dumb, has a way of making you feel comfortable no matter what, and her ruse of stupidity can actually make people feel more confident in themselves. she doesn't really care much about how she comes off to people around her, and prefers to do things how she wants them done rather than how others want them done. of course, you're never supposed to underestimate people you don't know very well -- and you should never underestimate chinatsu. underneath her mask of idiocy, she's actually one of the smartest people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting, although she doesn't really use her brain a lot. rather than most people who are intelligent that enjoy bragging about how much smarter than everyone else they are, she enjoys keeping it to herself, and sometimes it even seems like she's ashamed to be smart. her strangest habit, by far, is downplaying herself and acting stupid as a result. if the situation does call for it, though, she'll stop fooling around and act serious.

HOW YOU MET | MEET : before their debut, she had planned to hang out with baekhyun (because he had "big news" to tell her), but he told her that he was running late and asked if she could meet him at his new dorm. of course, baek has the worst attention span and completely forgot he was supposed to meet her, leaving the dorm so he could go to the coffee shop they were supposed to meet at. chinatsu went to the dorm, looking for baek -- and when the door was open, but nobody was in sight, she assumed he was alone. she heard singing coming from the bathroom, and wanting to mess with him a little, she hides and waits for him to come out. when he does, she jumps up and screams "boo!" really loudly, making him drop his towel,,, except its not baekhyun. turns out it was actually one of his group members, and the new baek was going to tell her was that he finally got placed into a group and was set to debut. luckily, the random stranger she all but attacked (she later found out his name was junmyeon) was wearing boxers -- although can it really be considered lucky when your undergarments are covered in small little animated ducks, and your ego is completely and utterly bruised?

FIRST IMPRESSIONS :

- at first, he is completely mortified. he can't even look her in the eye, much less even talk to her. he does everything he can to avoid her, and makes it as obvious as possible -- which only makes chinatsu want to talk to him even more. he gets really scared any time he sees her, and the scene of their unfortunate meeting replays in his head until his face is the color of a ripe tomato. once he finally gets over himself and realizes that she doesn't really mind his strange taste in underwear, though, he starts to open up and basically becomes a gigantic meme. he's full of horrible puns and jokes, plus giant cheesy smiles (and the random suggestive wink too.) he's still easily embarrassed by her, but after they've known each other, he realizes its not something to be ashamed of.
- when she notices him trying to evade her, she takes it as a challenge. she loves more than anything to pull pranks and mess with people, so she does the only thing that would ever occur to her: she tries to run into him at every possible moment. she takes every opportunity she has to playfully jab at him, saying how much she loves his underwear and anything along those lines. once he finally gets over his initial mortification, she reveals her true meme nature, and its like their a match made in meme heaven. she continues to tease him over anything and everything, and takes great joy in the way his cheeks heat up when he's embarrassed (and she never fails to point out how cute she thinks he is when he blushes.)

INTERACTIONS : they meet again every time she goes to visit baekhyun, and he highkey isn't able to show his face around her for a really long time. one day, though, he works up the courage to actually talk to her in an attempt to wash away the horrIBLE meme-ory. she laughs it off, finding it amusing, and eventually he does to. later on, he starts to notice her presence in the sm building more and more -- he sees her in the practice rooms, wandering the halls, etc -- and of course, she often visits the dorm.
