- 4:27:30 PM <Camtist|GM> The helicopter lands on the roof of J Arthur Dosher memorial hospital, its blades kicking up wind and dust on the building's helipad. Within, Director Clarkson sits with three fully armored PRT Officers, flown out from Raleigh to be his temporary, personal escort. It seemed a little over the top, but you can never be too careful, especially after Warrick's
- 4:27:30 PM <Camtist|GM> untimely demise.
- 4:28:54 PM <Camtist|GM> The blades start to slow as the Director and company step out of the chopper, greeted at the edge of the roof by a man in a slightly wrinkled suit. He is standing by the helipad's entrance into the building, welcoming them in.
- 4:29:51 PM <Camtist|GM> "Pleasure to meet you, Director Clarkson!" the man shouts over the dying winds. He puts out his hand to shake. "James Earlwood. I am this hospital's administrator." ||

- 4:32:43 PM <Turn|Clarkson> Clarkson took a step off of the helicopter, the winds buffeting his short hair and kicking up debris in it's wake. He'd been to some of the worst places on Earth, but if he was going to be honest, Wilmington looked like a goddamn warzone in motion. The hurricanes were terrible tragedies, but the nuclear reactor blowing up?
- 4:33:01 PM <Turn|Clarkson> That just brought this job to a whole other level.
- 4:35:47 PM <Turn|Clarkson> He brought up a smile as the blades of the helicopter slowed behind them, extending his hand and giving the administrator a firm shake. "It's a pleasure, Mr.Earlwood." Gray and Karma were the two people he really needed to speak to, but he'd keep his eyes open nevertheless.||
- 4:38:27 PM <Camtist|GM> Past the rooftop's edge, Clarkson mostly see Southport, a small city on the water's edge. Since Wilmington's main hospital was flattened, most of the injured survivors were flown out here. Still, Clarkson could swear that he could see traces of smoke and ruin to the north.
- 4:40:42 PM <Camtist|GM> "I can assure you that your heroes have been treated very well, Director. Right this way." He opens the door for Clarkson, who enters with his escort at his shoulders. It made for a startling show of force, although it did seem somewhat unnecessary here.
- 4:41:36 PM <Camtist|GM> "Every precaution has been taken into account. The entire top floor has been cleared for the heroes, and only the most trusted doctors have been allowed to see them. You can rest assured that their identities are completely safe." ||
- 4:43:51 PM <Turn|Clarkson> Small miracles, huh? He'd rest easy knowing that he wouldn't have to worry about Karma or Drop being outed. The PRT didn't exactly have the best public face in Wilmington, and making the public think they couldn't protect their Capes? It would simply compound the situation further.
- 4:45:33 PM <Turn|Clarkson> "I have to thank you, James. I understand that your hospital is taking on a good number of the injured survivors, so clearing out that space had to be somewhat tough." Always good to pay credit where it's due. He'd follow after the man into the building, though the armed men at his sides made him feel marginally safer.
- 4:45:58 PM <Turn|Clarkson> "Would you happen to know where Karma's room is?" The first person he needed to talk to.||
- 4:47:52 PM <Camtist|GM> "Of course. Allow me to show you there," Earlwood replies, leading the posse to an elevator. The officers exchange a quick glance among themselves, and one decides to stay behind and guard the exit, the other two entering the elevator.

- 4:52:14 PM <Camtist|GM> In the elevator, Clarkson notices that Earlwood seems extremely uncomfortable, nervous even. Beads of sweat have appeared on the man's forehead, and his eyes cautiously dart between the officers and Clarkson. He suppose it would make sense: Clarkson now held quite a bit of power, and entering his hospital with armed men would make any administrator fret.
- 4:53:01 PM <Camtist|GM> Soon, the elevator dings, the doors opening and Earlwood quickly moving into the hallway. A few doctors and nurses do double takes as they see the officers and Director enter the floor. ||
- 4:55:40 PM <Turn|Clarkson> He couldn't blame Earlwood for being so nervous. He'd wielded some superiority over parahumans and normal folk in his time in the service, but being a Director was a whole other level of power. As the elevator opened up, he'd have to simply ignore the stares and glances, strutting forward with as much authority as he could muster.||

- 5:01:27 PM <Camtist|GM> Clarkson keeps a level stare and straight pace as he walks, and his escort follows suit. Doctors and nurses clearly scramble to get out of his way, intimidated by his aura of authority. Earlwood leads the way as best he can, guiding him to a door, using a handkerchief to wipe the sweat from his brow.
- 5:02:14 PM <Camtist|GM> "Karma is in here, Director," Earlwood states with as much confidence as he can muster, standing at attention by the door. ||

- 5:06:11 PM <Turn|Clarkson> Man, military training really knew how to get someone ready for looking like they knew what they were doing. "Thank you, James. Would also happen to know which room Squad Leader Gray is in?" Someone else he needed to talk to after finishing up with Karma.||
- 5:07:33 PM <Camtist|GM> Earlwood turns an points behind him. "He is down the hall, the third door on the left. Er, 'Nip' is also with him." ||
- 5:08:46 PM <Turn|Clarkson> He nodded, looking where Earlwood pointed. "Mmhm. That'll be all, James. I think I can handle it from here."||
- 5:09:58 PM <Camtist|GM> "Very well then. I'll be in my office if you need anything, Director." Earlwood nods, then walks away. It does look a bit like he's fleeing, though. ||
- 5:11:04 PM <Turn|Clarkson> He was fleeing? Good. He'd rather have everyone who didn't know him that well be afraid, as opposed to assuming he was a pushover. Without further ado, he'd walk into Karma's room, curious to see her condition.||
- 5:14:16 PM <Camtist|GM> The room is almost exactly like one would expect from a hospital: a bed on one wall, machinery around it, and a few chairs here and there. On the bed, a dark skinned woman with long black hair is propped up by a large amount of pillows, facing the TV mounted in the upper corner of the room. Her face is completely devoid of emotion, and Clarkson somewhat
- 5:14:16 PM <Camtist|GM> recognizes her from the files, albeit with a few more stress lines than before.
- 5:15:33 PM <Camtist|GM> "As of now, there is still no sign of the mysterious Trans-" the news caster states, before being cut off by the television going dark. Karma turns her head towards the Director, watching, but making no greetings nor expressing any surprise at his appearance. She doesn't even seem intimidated as the officers move into the room to flank him. ||
- 5:17:16 PM <Turn|Clarkson> How he approached this situation would define their entire working relationship, and that was a daunting prospect before him. He'd read her files, but psych evaluations could only write down so much. Added with the stress of the hurricane event, and he had a potentially dangerous mixture to contend with.
- 5:19:30 PM <Turn|Clarkson> He'd move slowly and carefully, moving to grab a chair, dragging it up to her bed. He wasn't in much of a rush, not when they had all day to take this slow. Taking a seat in front of her, he started simple. "I thought it prudent to get introductions out of the way first, so I'll start us off. My name is Jeremy Clarkson, and I'm your new Director."||

- 5:27:16 PM <Turn|Clarkson> "If it's possible, I'd like to talk to you about your part in the hurricanes. I understand it may be a touchy subject, but..." He'd fish out the phone given by the PRT, pulling up the incident report if possible. "Well, we've still got a good number of questions. If you're feeling up to discuss it. I could inquire with Drop instead if you're feeling
- 5:27:16 PM <Turn|Clarkson> unwell..." Wasn't he found with her?||
- 5:28:46 PM <Camtist|GM> "What do you want to know?" Karma asks, her tone just as dead as her emotions. It seems impossible to get a read on her. ||
- 5:31:34 PM <Turn|Clarkson> Man, she's gonna be a tough cookie to crack, isn't she? "You were found in the epicenter of the second hurricane, covered in what the first responders referred to-" his eyes flicked down to the phone for a moment, before flicking back to Karma. "-a pile of ‘melted and necrotic flesh and bones’. Got anything to offer on that?"||
- 5:32:22 PM <Camtist|GM> "That is how they found me." ||
- 5:34:51 PM <Turn|Clarkson> There's a small sound as Clarkson sucked air from between his teeth, before sighing. "See, I was hoping that you could expand upon why you were in the center of it. Or give me your perspective of the events."||
- 5:37:54 PM <Camtist|GM> "I was the cause of the second storm," Karma explains, still stoic. "I was patrolling with Drop beforehand, the blood storm hit, and I stopped it by copying it."

- 5:40:58 PM <Turn|Clarkson> Guilt? Oh thank god, something he could exploit. He had great parahuman friends, but working with them was like trying to herd cats. Manipulating them might seem rude, but usually it was the best way of getting actual results.
- 5:43:33 PM <Turn|Clarkson> But the revelation itself? Besides the fact that Karma was one misstep away from getting a kill order placed on herself? They'd have to bury the truth as far down as possible. "That's not exactly what I expected, but I imagine you simply wanted to stop Transfusion's hurricane from spreading, yes?"||
- 5:45:35 PM <Camtist|GM> "Not even that. It was a reaction. We were caught in the storm, and I had no other options. I did not know what would happen."
- 5:46:09 PM <Camtist|GM> Clarkson notices her fists clench tighter, the muscles in her body tensing ever so slightly. There's more to the story. A lot more. ||

- 5:56:50 PM <Turn|Clarkson> "Beyond that, most of the true details of the event are being hidden under wraps. However, at this juncture the only thing keeping you safe is the PRT."
- 5:59:27 PM <Turn|Clarkson> It's a painful truth, but she's a smart woman. She's likely figured that out by now. "I am loathe to bring it up, but if you were anyone else, you'd have warranted a kill order at this point. So I imagine you will be fine if we keep the truth under wraps?"||

- 6:05:48 PM <Turn|Clarkson> He blinked once, twice, three times even. Did she just say...? "Oh, I'm terribly sorry, but that's not really an option at this point. I mean, you could leave, but at that point we'd have no vested interest in using our expansive legal and financial aid on you. You'd get the benefits entitled to you for your valiant service, but..."
- 6:07:06 PM <Turn|Clarkson> "You'd be on your own. In fact, I doubt we'd have much concern in protecting the true details of the hurricanes. At that point, a kill order would be almost assured."||
- 6:08:18 PM <Camtist|GM> "Director," Karma says, leaning towards him, clearly unconcerned by his threats.
- 6:08:49 PM <Camtist|GM> "Do you really want your first action in office to be putting a kill order on Wilmington's most renowned hero?" ||
- 6:12:13 PM <Turn|Clarkson> Touche. "A hero with a good record. Of course, this doesn't take into account the 154 people killed when your hurricane overcame Transfusion's. You'll find people have a remarkably short memory when that information comes to light."
- 6:12:59 PM <Turn|Clarkson> "I'm not asking for a commitment. I'm asking for you to actually help clean up the mess you left."||
- 6:16:36 PM <Camtist|GM> "I want to clean up the mess. But I cannot stay in the PRT." Her tension returns, tighter. "I never said that I would not help. I will take down Pantheon again. I will continue to remove threats from Wilmington. But I will not stay in your organization, Director."
- 6:16:58 PM <Camtist|GM> The finality in her words doesn't escape Clarkson's ears. ||
- 6:19:02 PM <Turn|Clarkson> That's going to throw a wrench in his plans, but he supposed her helping would be better than anything else. "What about your partner, Drop? Is he following suit, or can I expect him to report in?"

- 6:36:10 PM <Turn|Clarkson> He'd almost forgotten how stubborn parahumans could be. It was an unwelcome surprise. He'd let go, before taking a step back. "I'll be taking my leave." It didn't take long for him to strut out of the office with as much authority that he could muster, which admittedly felt dampened after talking to Karma.

- 7:40:25 PM <Camtist|GM> The inside of the room is a carbon copy of Karma's, save for the people there. Bed by the wall, medical machinery around it, TV in the corner, etc. On the bed, a grizzled man with graying hair and beard lies back, watching baseball on the TV. Next to him, sitting in the chair, is definitely Nip. The small girl is in a hospital gown clearly meant for
- 7:40:25 PM <Camtist|GM> children, with teddy bears on the fabric, but the toothy mouths appearing all over her skin make her seem like a horror movie monster.
- 7:42:10 PM <Camtist|GM> As Clarkson walks in, both Gray and nip turn to him. Gray raises an eyebrow at the Director, turning down the volume of the television, while Nip becomes extremely alert. Her eyes widen slightly, and a few of her mouths begin to gnash. The one on the side of her head appears to growl at Clarkson, but she makes no other movements. ||
