- Game: TimeSplitters 2 (PS2)
- Issue: An online game crashes or player(s) get disconnected shortly after the game begins.
- Solution: While still in lobby, you must ensure that all players can see each other. This is typically done by having everyone type out the number of players they can see in the lobby. If a player can't be seen, have them rejoin the lobby. If you don't get the same count after several attempts, try switching hosts. For unknown reasons, some hosts have fewer issues with this process. Alternatively, have all players properly restart Xlink Kai and their consoles/emulators, then restart this process.
- Game: TimeSplitters 2 (Xbox)
- Issue: Player(s) get disconnected shortly after the game begins.
- Solution: This is caused by a difference in loading speeds among players and typically affects OG Xbox disc users when they play with other users (e.g. OG Xbox HDD users). Try having an OG Xbox disc user host. If this doesn't work, the OG Xbox disc users will have to play in a separate lobby. NOTE: this will not affect Xbox One / Xbox Series X disc users, since their consoles aren't actually reading the game off the disc.
- Game: TimeSplitters 2 and TimeSplitters Future Perfect (Xbox)
- Issue: After setting up an Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S (that is not the player's home console) for online play by directly connecting an Ethernet cable to the PC, the game will close after a few minutes and display a message that you need to be online to play the game.
- Solution: Unplug the Ethernet cable, reconnect the console to WiFi, restart the game, then plug in the Ethernet cable and wait for the error message. After a few attempts, it will allow the game to be relaunched.
- Game: TimeSplitters Future Perfect (Xbox)
- Issue: When playing in online games, the same music (Scotland the Brave) plays during every game.
- Solution: This is caused by the host having the Title Update, which is not obtainable on stock consoles or included with backwards compatibility. Try switching hosts or having the host disable the Title Update.
- Game: TimeSplitters Future Perfect (Xbox)
- Issue: Upon joining a lobby, the game automatically launches into the team select screen but does not allow the player to choose a team or actually join the game.
- Solution: This is likely caused by the host NOT having the Title Update and the affected player(s) having the Title Update enabled. Affected player(s) should wait on the team select screen; when the host launches the game, the map will be reloaded and the affected player(s) will be launched into the working team select screen. Alternatively, the affected player(s) can wait for the host to start the game before joining the match in progress.
- Game: TimeSplitters Future Perfect (Xbox)
- Issue: When hosting online games through backwards compatibility, certain mapmaker maps will always crash on the map loading screen.
- Solution: Recreate the map on an OG Xbox or Xemu with the Title Update enabled.
