- Any% (Restricted) - Sub categories: none. Ultra-Nightmare (default)
- 100% (Restricted) - Sub categories: Ultra-Nightmare (default) / Nightmare
- 0% (Restricted) - Sub categories: Ultra-Nightmare (default) / Nightmare
- Can start as Misc categories with only 100% having two sub variables to prevent clutter (or even none if there's no interest for Nightmare)
- If this receives sufficient runs and interest, it could always be upped to "main" categories.
- ----- CATEGORY -----
- Restricted focuses heavily on the combat aspects of DOOM 2016 and disallows the use of game-breaking glitches that attempt (or have the potential to) skip (large) portions of the game, arenas and just combat in general.
- Allowed glitches/skips/tricks
- - Gauss Boosting (and preserving momentum through bunnyhopping)
- - DKSMS (Instant Siege Mode)
- - Holoswapping
- - 'Jimmy shot'
- - FPS Toggling. Can be used to fully prevent accidental railboosting by toggling frame rate to 120FPS in dangerous spots and toggling back to 200FPS.
- - Animation cancels (such as canceling the animation of grabbing a mod from a mod bot.)
- - Equipping runes in locked slots in the dossier.
- - Extendo-grabs (interacting with objects such as levers/switches from further away than typically possible by spamming Use + Zoom simultaneously)
- - Chainsawing enemies through walls for ammo. (If this leads to an accidental Glory kill Clip, then a player MUST reload checkpoint. In Ultra-Nightmare: use at own risk)
- Disallowed glitches/skips/tricks
- Note: If ANY of the below glitches are performed accidentally: a player MUST reload checkpoint.
- In Ultra-Nightmare this means performing such a trick accidentally means a run is still eligible to be submitted to the regular unrestricted category but is no longer eligible to be accepted in this category.
- - Railboosts (and variants such as omega-boosting, IFM-boosting)
- - Glory Kill Clips
- - Paperclips
- - Entering and navigating outside of the boundaries of the intended play area.
- Out of bounds has no clear cut definition but when its obvious a player is intentionally entering an out of bounds area through inbounds parkour, either by using tricks above or through other means that were not explicitly listed, their run may be rejected.
- Moderators reserve the right to reject a run if they deem (a) part(s) of the run out of bounds, even if the out of bounds is not explicitly listed as a known out of bounds spot. Generally speaking: if its unclear if something is an out of bounds, don't immediately assume it's not but consult a moderator before attempting this in official runs.
- Note: Gauss-boosting over the first void in Argent Facility (Destroyed) is allowed to cross a death plane and skip a short cutscene, as this is considered an inbounds skip.
- - Wall-clipping (intentionally pushing yourself through thin geometry using directional inputs and being able to clip through visible or invisible layers of geometry or walls because of it)
- - Wall-climbing (intentionally spamming jump inputs to scale walls and geometry while being (partially) clipped into them).
- - Duping Weapon mods (Animation canceling an interaction with a mod bot and reloading checkpoint.
- - Duping Praetor tokens (Animation canceling a praetor token pickup by reloading checkpoint)
- - Duping Weapon points (intentionally) through mission select. (such as by replaying Lazarus Part II through Lazarus I which has a unique property that resets Combat Rating upon replaying it through mission select.)
- - Weapon Wheel BFG Glitch (using the Weapon Wheel while a BFG shot is in the air to continuously output large amounts of damage)
- - Weapon Wheel Animation delay (using the weapon wheel to intentionally delay forced animations eg. ARC tram clip, VEGA tether delay, etc.)
- - Interacting with buttons/switches through walls or surfaces. (Glitched buttons such as the one at the very end of Lazarus 1 are allowed, but you must shoot the panel off of the button first.)
