- easy slow cooker stew
- 1.5 lb beef, round steak, stew meat or whatever is cheapest
- 4 medium potatoes, quartered
- 6 carrots cut in 1 inch pieces
- 1 large onion sliced
- 1 can of french cut green beans (reserve 1/2 cup of liquid to add to pot)
- 1/4 cp red wine
- 1 can tomato sauce
- salt/pepper to taste
- brown your meat with a couple pinches of salt in an oiled pan to get a good sear on it, while warming up the slow cooker on low. toss in seared meat+juices and ingredients in above order. slow cook for at least five hours.
- other veggie options include: chopped celery, minced garlic, quartered cabbage, asparagus, etc.
