1. Anonymou/x/ in Equestria: Part 2
2.
3. >you wake up to Pinkie shaking you
4. “Anonynonynonynony, wake up, we’re going to be late!” excitedly says the pink fuzzball
5. “What’s going ooon, why are you shaking me” you reply
6. “We’re going to be late, didn’t I tell you we had to leave early?” she says
7. >you were not a morning person
8. “Pinkie, I just woke up, I don’t even know what day it is… How did you get into my place anyway?” you yawn
9. >she looks at the open door
10. >oh right, you kinda stopped locking it after a while
11. >it’s pretty much useless to have locks in P0nyville, it’s not like anyone’s going to attack you or steal your stuff
12. “Today’s the day we go camping to Granny Pie’s old cottage!” she squeaks, bursting with enthusiasm
13. >wait what
14. “Granny Pie’s cottawhat now? You never said anything about a camping trip…”
15. >Pinkie ponders, looking up, then down to the left, then back up
16. “Oh right, I guess I forgot. Oh well, get your stuff ready Anon, we have to go soon or we won’t get there by nightfall” she explains
17. >you scratch your head
18. “Come onnonny, pack your stuff!”
19. “But I have work tomor-
20. “I already booked you off, I think of everything” she proudly says
21. >you glare incomprehensibly at the mini horse that thinks of booking you off work before actually telling you that you’re going on a camping trip
22. >letting out an exasperated sigh, you grab some pants and pull them over your boxers, finding a shirt in a clean-ish laundry pile
23. >the ponyfolk aren’t too shy with clothing and stuff, walking around naked most of the time, so you don’t really care either
24. “I had to call in a few favors too, seems like Daisy didn’t show up this morning so they had a hard time reworking the schedules. No biggie though, Auntie Pinkie has it all covered”
25. >you were like thirteen years older than her
26. “Ya know Pinkie, stuff like this is why you’re my best friend” you say, smiling warmly
27. >she rubs the side of her head on your ribs as you ruffle her already fuzzy mane
28. >a few minutes later, you stand with a duffel bag, an internal frame, short expedition pack and your favorite wide-brimmed hat
29. >lookin’ good
30. >after those paranormal exploration trips, you were fairly well equipped
31. >fuzzy bubble gum bounce equine looks at you with a bit of confusion, saying
32. “Anon, we’re going to the Pie’s old cottage, not the Everfree Forest”
33. >you notice Pinkie only has a little saddlebag
34. “Ummm… Doesn’t hurt to be prepared? Where are we going anyway?”
35. “The Everfree Forest, the Pies bought a bit of land there when rock mining boomed” she replies
36. >you twitch, head snapping lightly side to side as the lack of logic crashes your brain
37. >and this was why you hung out with the Pink
38. >stepping out of your pad with your best bud, you feel ready for an unexpected but welcomed camping trip
39. “Here comes Twilight and Rainbow! This is going to be so much fun”
40. >oh sweet
41. >more good surprises
42. >this day just doesn’t stop getting better
43. >oddly enough, in all your time here in Equestria, you really had not gotten much bonding time with the rest of Pinkie’s friends
44. >everyone had their own lives and stuff, it was a bit of a shame
45. >this was a perfect opportunity for that to change
46. “Heya” greets the colorful pegasus
47. “Morning! Anon, it’s nice to see you again” cheerfully chirps in Twilight
48. >you wave hello
49. “Hey dude, how’s it hanging?”
50. “Pretty good, it’s nice to see you both too” you reply, trying to not be awkward
51. >Pinkie doesn’t give any of you the chance as awkward silences are impossible with her around
52. “Enough chatting, let’s get marching” she hollers happily
53. >she wasn’t kidding, you did have to make good time
54. >the Everfree wasn’t too bad during the day, there was enough light coming in through the dense brush that it made navigation relatively easy
55. >Twilight was getting some good practice with her magic by clearing a path
56. >Rainbow starts whispering in Pinkie’s ear and you see her nod mischievously
57. >there was trouble a-brewin’
58. >you walk up behind them, bending down and getting your head right above theirs
59. “What are you both scheming?” you whisper
60. “EEP!”
61. >Pinkie jumps, her head swiftly reaching ramming speed
62. >course set, destination; your jaw
63. >brace for impact
64. -crack-
65. >you fall to a knee, hands around your mouth
66. >that stung something fierce
67. >no teeth missing
68. “Owww… Anon, you okay?” says Pinkie, rubbing the back of her head
69. “Mhhmnmhmhph” you mumble through the sick feeling in your teeth and gums
70. >meanwhile, Twilight’s horn is blazing, a small smile on her lips as she concentrates and parts the very trees in your way
71. >at least you won’t get separated easily
72. “Gee, Pinkie, you’re jumpy today…” comments Rainbow
73. >Pinkie recovers quickly as you chew nothing to limber your sore mouth
74. “Well I’m always jumpy, see?” she says, adopting her usual springy gait
75. >Dash just shakes her head at the party pone
76. “Seriously though, what were you both plotting back there?” you ask
77. “Oh, we just wanted to see if we could get a jump out of Twilight. Looks like you beat us to it and got Pinkie…” she replies
78. >you think for a second and wave Pinkie over
79. “Oh, we can still get Twilight… Okay, we just need to… *whisper whisper*”
80.
81.
82. >you are Twilight and this was awesome
83. >who knew that hiking in the woods could be such a rigorous magical training session?
84. >you turn to ask Pinkie if you were still heading in the right direction
85. >you’d lost track a little
86. >you halt in your tracks
87. >there is nop0ny behind you
88. >you shake a bit of frustration off, thinking “but I just made a really clear path for you guys”
89. >more importantly, you needed to find them
90. “Rainbow? Pinkie?” you yell
91. >nothing
92. “Anon?” you call out
93. “Anyone?”
94. >you double back, looking around for any sign
95. >darn Pinkie and Rainbow shouldn’t be hard to spot, it’s not like they’re camouflaged!
96. “Guys?”
97. >you’re starting to get a little nervous
98. >they were right behind you, where could they be?
99. >you look around
100. >thin rays of light come through the treetops, the rest is a dense, dark green maze of vines, trunks and underbrush
101. >your path is as clear as ever, but you still can’t see where they could have gone
102. >a branch cracks behind you
103. >you turn around and your body was not ready for the sight
104. >Pinkie, Anon and Rainbow are wrapped in vines, half-ingested by a massive carnivorous plant
105. >they are not moving
106. >no
107. >nope
108. >nope nope nope
109. “NOOOOOOOOOO, NOT LIKE THIS” you wail, jumping towards the massive plant’s gaping maw
110. “Hold on, I’m coming!” you say as your horn blazes
111. >you start pulling them out with your magic
112. >you hear them!
113. >you hear them struggling, they’re alive!
114. >suddenly they wrench free and tumble out in a heap
115. >laughing their heads off
116. >the carnivorous plant falls apart
117. >it was just Anon’s fluffy green synthetic sleeping bag with those pale, jagged leaves for teeth
118. >everything held together by a mess of vines
119.
120.
121. >you’re Anon, and you’re dying
122. “Noooo! Not like thiiiis” you squeak out between bouts of uncontrollable laughter, imitating Twilight’s anguished cry
123. >oh she did not look like a happy camper right now
124. >you try to stop laughing but the more you attempt to control yourself, the angrier Twilight becomes and the funnier it gets
125. >she just trots off leaving you three to calm down
126. >you have trouble packing your sleeping bag back in but it was worth it
127. “We have to do that one again sometime” says Dash as she wipes tears from her face
128. >Twilight sighs in irritation and then seems to relax, chuckling a little
129. “I’ll admit, you guys got me well” she says, giving in
130. >she smiles coyly, and a shiver of foreboding runs down your collective spines
131. >uh oh
132. >you all knew you’d probably suffer the wrath of Twilight’s revenge
133. >continuing your journey, you take the lead to give Twilight a rest
134. >you’ve been waiting for this
135. >you produce a sheathed blade from your pack; a sirupate khukuri
136. >the Nepalese farming tool was something like a machete that had a lovechild with an axe
137. “WEEEEEE!!!” you exclaim, swinging away at the saplings and bushes in your way
138. >Rainbow turns to Pinkie and Twilight
139. “Anon sure does look happy when he’s got something sharp…” she says, a little unsettled
140. “Oh that’s just Anon, he always does this with sharp things” replies Pinkie, skipping without a care in the world
141. >the purple unicorn and blue pegasus exchange a concerned look, but shrug it off
142. >cutting is pretty hard work, but the forest air is nice and cool
143. >not too much sun beating down on you all helps a fair bit
144. >with the sun slowly setting in the horizon, you think you can see the cottage in a clearing through the brush
145. “We’re he~re” you say happily
146. >you take out a cloth from your pants pocket and wipe up the long, lighter profile khukuri
147. >you can’t help but rub it a few more times with the cloth, smiling at the pretty, polished metal
148. >Rainbow bumps you forward
149. “Come on Anon, let’s go… Or do I need to leave you two alone?” she says cheekily, waving at your and the knifeaxemacheteprybar
150. >rolling your eyes, you hurriedly cross into the clearing
151. >the cottage looks like it’s been abandoned for years
152. >it’s a single story building but it’s a rather large log cabin
153. >roomy enough for more than three p0nies and a human
154. “This is going to be awesome, you never told me your folks’ old shack was this cool” says Dash, flying towards the cottage
155. >you had to admit, the cottage was really cool looking, even in its slightly decrepit state
156. >mostly just some flora growing all over it
157. >with a bit of TLC, this place would be totally baller
158. “Whew, glad we got here, all that magic practice was tiring” says Twilight, cantering towards the door
159. >the inside of the cottage is musty with dust but it doesn’t seem to have flooded or anything
160. >kitchen, living room, bathroom and two bedrooms
161. >all furnished modestly, but comfortably enough
162. >once you dusted the couch and table, anyway
163. >after a bit of cleaning up, you all relax, settling down
164. >Rainbow’s laying on a fluffy rug in the center of the room, you’re laying your head back on the couch and Pinkie’s bouncing around
165. >it’s how she relaxes
166. >Twilight’s getting the fireplace going; with nightfall comes a chilling breeze and it soon seeps into the cottage
167. >Pinkie throws a record on an ancient looking wind-up player in the corner of the living room
168.
169. http://youtu.be/VS-YUmPeJe4?t=1m0s
170.
171. >groovy
172. “So, what do we have planned for tonight?” you ask
173. “Well it’s been a long day, I was thinking of taking it easy tonight” say Twilight
174. “Yeah, this carpet is really comfortable”
175. “I guess we can party tomorrow” says Pinkie
176. >you gasp
177. >Rainbow’s head shoots up
178. >Twilight nearly jumps in the fire
179. >all eyes are on the fuschia hued fun-sized horse
180. >she looks at you all in turn
181. “What?” she says, like nothing’s wrong
182. >there is a nervous, tense silence as the hair stands on end at the back of your neck
183. “Are you feeling okay, Pinkie?”
184. “Sure am, I just can’t wait to break out these marshmallows I brought”
185. >you all relax
186. >it would have been simply too strange to see the Pinks just wave off a chance to party like that
187. >but with marshmallows and a cottage fireplace…
188. >everything was right with the world
189. “Nothing better than a cottage sleepover with marshmallows” sighs Twilight, stretching contently
190. “Ohhh, how about we turn all the lights off and tell each other scary stories, I have a bunch of really awesome ones” starts Rainbow, cocky grin on her face
191. >now this was more like it
192. >you grin in anticipation and shut off every light in the cottage
193. >pale starlight comes from the windows, only surpassed by the steady, crackling fireplace
194. >the cottage creaks and groans ever so gently as a strong, cold wind flows outside
195.

198.
199. “I like where this is going” you whisper
200. >Rainbow sticks out a hoof, grinning as much as you are
201. >she tells a story to start the mood
202. >you kind of hang your head as Pinkie and Twilight start shivering, their fright obvious
203. >Dash’s story was… Cute
204. “I have one, it got a good reaction out of Applejack and Rarity” states Twilight
205. “If it scared Applejack, it must be good” replies the cyan birdpone, scooting down comfortably next to the fire
206. >you had to admit, Twilight could tell a story properly
207. >if it had been actually scary, you would have probably had some chills and maybe a jump or two
208. >the cloth over her head as she jumped up yelling “THE HEADLESS HORSE” was a nice touch
209. >Pinkie pokes you
210. “Anooo~n, you always talk of scary stories and creepy things you miss back on your world… How about you tell us all one? Come on, it’ll be fun!” she says
211. >you think for a few moments
212. >what could go wrong?
213. “I guess I could… Let me think” you answer
214. >you lay your chin on your hand, spooling through the various old tales in your mind
215. >ah, this one would do
216. “Okay, I remember… It was a long time ago, when I was still just a kid. I used to be fearless. I never jumped in fright or felt chills when walking in the dark, deep basements.” You start
217. >the story wasn’t too long, maybe five minutes or so
218. >but seeing your friends’ interested faces, you knew you had them hooked
219. “So I thought there was nothing to be afraid of, of course. Sure, I was still scared of getting hurt or something; but I never used to be afraid of ghosts or spooky scary skeletons”
220. >you continue, building an eerie, doublefaced reality the original tale did so well
221. >slowly building on a dissonance of what could have been happening and what should be happening
222. >you weave the mental unknown of the dark motel, the moving shadows
223. >the p0nies listen with eyes wide, stiff with tension and terror
224. >across the last few paragraphs, you’ve been slowly speaking more and more quietly
225. “I slowly walked towards the exit, hoping I would finally escape the madness” you say, your voice low
226. “I pushed the door open and looked at the impossible room ahead of me, where the same, prim butler stood” you whisper
227. >three jaws slowly open before you, their immersion was absolute
228. >your whisper turning into a low, throaty rumble at the last words
229. “He simply said… “Your room is ready. It’s always been ready” as his mouth and eyes began to bleed” you finish
230. >Twilight starts crying
231. >Rainbow just twitches a few times and starts rocking back and forth
232. “Wow, that was the best story ever!” exclaims Pinkie, practically exploding with joy
233. >you’ve been friends with this bubbly mare for years and she still surprises you; this wasn’t usually the reaction you expected or received
234. >but it’s good she liked it
235. >you grimace at the two other fillies that seem to have taken the story a little harder
236. >shit, maybe you went too far
237. “Wasn’t that awesome? Come on Rainbow! Rainbow?” says Pinkie
238. >the little pegasus is still rocking back and forth, staring at nothing in particular
239. “Twilight? What’s wrong?”
240. >bookpone’s head is in her hooves as she shivers and sobs
241. >aw god damn it you fucked up
242. >Dash seems to snap out of it, slowly
243. “Ah… Ha… Ha ha… Great s-s-story…” she says, still looking unfocused
244. >Pinkie cocks her head to the side
245. “You sure you’re okay, Dashie? I’m getting worried about Twilight… Maybe she liked the story too much and she likes it so much she can’t even say how much she liked it” hypothesizes the hoofed cotton candy
246. “Yeah, I’m okay… I didn’t want to sleep tonight either way. Or ever” replies the prismatic flight-prone pone
247. >you feel pretty bad
248. “Uhhh… Sorry… Maybe it wasn’t a story I should have told…” you say awkwardly
249. >way to burn the friendship bridge you were making with Pinkie’s best bros
250. >Twilight starts rubbing her face and stops sniffling
251. “It’s okay, I think it was just a little scary” she says
252. >Rainbow looks at her like she said “I hate books”
253. >before she has time to say anything, there is knocking at the door
254. >you notice this odd sound, apart from the low resounding groans of the cabin in the woods and the wind moving through the trees
255.
256.
standard volume
257. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfPL2B7Avo0

260.
261. “I wonder who it is” says Pinkie, bouncing towards the door
262. >you strain your ears
263. >it’s like someone is talking
264. >like Twi and Dash, you’re puzzled
265. >why would there be anyone knocking at the door in the middle of the Everfree late at night?
266. “Pinkie, maybe you shouldn’t answer that” you say, whispering
267. >she stops
268. “Why not? It might be Zecora” she says
269. >you wonder why Zecora would be out here
270. “Does Zecora know where the cottage is? Did you invite her?” you ask
271. >she taps her chin with a hoof, pensive
272. “No, I guess not…”
273. >you grab your sirupate and peek out the nearest window
274. >you can’t exactly see outside in front of the door
275. “I’ll answer it…” you say
276. >it might be some poor lost p0ny or a tree branch hitting against the door, pushed by wind
277. >but regardless, you don’t want your friend to come under any danger, however minimal the risk
278. >you put your foot in front of the door as a doorstop and open it a little bit
279. >nothing but darkness
280. >you’re still hearing those sounds, like distant voices in the wind
281. >you close the door
282. “Must have been a bran-
283. >the living room is empty
284. >you are alone
285. “Guys? Where did you all go? You call out
286. >no reply
287. “Okay, you’re all trying to freak me out ‘cause of the scares I gave you all a bit ago, right?”
288. >the cabin is empty
289. >just the light crackling of the fire and the wind
290. >every time you try to concentrate on the whispering at the edge of your hearing, you seem to lose it
291. >it’s like the voices go away when you try to listen to them
292. >Twilight must be no stranger to giving p0nes the spooks
293. >she can teleport, she probably rounded up Pinkie and Rainbow Dash
294. >you check the bedroom
295. >empty
296. >second bedroom
297. >nobody there either
298. >you grab your flashlight and start shining it through the windows
299. >it’s rather powerful but all you see are trees
300. >the waiting game has begun
301. >you periodically look around for any of their shenanigans
302. >after an hour, you’re getting a little worried
303. >you open the door, flashlight in hand
304. “Okay, come on back, it’s getting late” you holler
305. >you start looking around
306. >you deserved this, they were definitely messing with you
307. >however, you’re unable to shake this nervous feeling
308. >you’re worried about them, it is dark out there
309. >Everfree Forest is also teeming with dangerous animals
310. >you hear noises inside the cottage
311. >rushing in, you just see a branch across the hall through the window, slamming against the side of the cabin
312. >you turn to go back outside
313. >your flashlight points instinctually and figures move around behind the trees
314. “Seriously, you’ll hurt yourselves out there. Come on back” you yell
315. >you catch but glimpses of shapes, moving through the trees
316. >this was getting pretty freaky
317. “Twilight, Rainbow, Pinkie… You can stop now, I’m scared okay?”
318. >you just see more figures
319. >half a dozen at least
320. >noises behind you again
321. >not the branch smacking, but more of a scratching sound
322. >you look behind you and see a nameless, faceless horror against the glass
323. >the whispering noises fill your ears and above them, all you can hear are hooves against hard wood
324. >disjointed, out of sync, stumbling hooves
325. >they were inside the cabin, coming in through the door you’d left open
326. >holes of black nothing for eyes and mouth
327. “FUCK ME”
328. >you cannot contain your panic
329. >you open the closest door
330. >second bedroom
331. >Rainbow Dash, Twilight sitting on the bed, looking away
332. “HOLY SHIT GUYS” you yell
333. >their heads turn on their shoulders, all the way around
334. “FUCK ME SIDEWAYS”
335. >you NOPE right the fuck out and jump in the empty bathroom, slamming the door shut behind you
336. >your thoughts race to the khukuri
337. >the single weapon you have
338. >it’s back in the living room
339. >you gasp in anger and fear
340. >you press your back against the door, bracing against imminent impacts
341. >impacts that never come
342. >white-knuckled, death-gripped against the log walls, back to the door
343. >you try to slow your breathing as you wonder why they aren’t trying to brake this thin wooden barrier down
344. >then you hear it
345. “Just come out, Anon”
346. “It’s much nicer out here”
347. “Come out of the bathroom”
348. “Anon… It’s nicer with us, outside”
349. >A handful of voices, barely whispering
350. >All quietly asking you to leave your bathroom
351. “Why don’t you let us in?”
352. “Come out, it would be the right thing to do”
353. >you sink to the floor, still pressing the door closed with all your might
354. “Come on out, it’s okay”
355. “It’s so nice out here…”
356. “Anon, it’s really nice outside”
357. >you hold your hands against your head
358. >oh god what the fuck was going on
359. >you try to ask them to stop
360. >you yell for a while, covering up the pleading voices
361. >when you stop, you just hear them continue on, asking you to exit the washroom
362. “You can open the door, Anon…”
363. "Yeah, just come out"
364. >day two in the bathroom
365. >not a single second has passed without the whispering, gentle requests
366. “maybe it is nicer outside…”
367.
368. /x/ End.
