  1. Best methods to attract web design clients?
  2. I am a professional WordPress developer and I find pretty difficult to find clients when you start. I have worked more years with a big company, but now it's the time to start on my own. What are now the best black hat and white hat methods to attract clients (especially small businesses)

  14. I've had success building a quick website for a clients business, then contacting them up with the link via email then phone call. If you put the effort in right away, even if it's not something they like, it at least gets them thinking of the idea and makes an easy sale.

  18. Thanks! I have tried this method with yelp, but with not too much success using cold emails. I have tried on USA being from Europe. I think I need to tweek more my emails.

  20. Really nice method. I would try for sure with those who don't have a website at all.
  21. Until you build a name for yourself, offline marketing is just about the only sustainable method of gaining these sort of clients.
  22. Also, most people are looking for something that 'just works'. I find it easiest to offer a 'full service' package of domain/hosting/SEO/maintenance, which means I don't have to hunt down passwords or deal with sub-par hosting providers, and the client never has to juggle multiple unexpected invoices or play phone tag when their hosting goes down.

  24. Even if they already have a site, try it anyway. It takes almost no time at all to throw up a subdomain with a WP template and their logo dropped in, but the client will think you did a full custom design just for them.

  29. Click to expand...Thank you very much! True what you are saying. If I would be a customer, I would prefer a full service. Also, I would concentrate also on the ones with non-responsive and ugly websites.
  30. What are the right prices to convert as many as possible to clients?

  32. What was the price range which worked best for you?

  34. In your case, what was the price range which worked best?
  35. What are the right prices to convert as many as possible to clients?
  36. That entirely depends on the area, the niche, the competition, etc. For example, a restaurant in a major city would require a fairly substantial budget just to get on the first page of the SERPs, but a rural bakery with virtually no competition in a ~40 mile radius can get a #1 ranking for a fraction of the effort.

  42. Click to expand...^This. I did this about 3 years ago. Found a really nice wordpress template for $60~ for restaurants. Googled all of the local resturaunts and new resturaunts around my area. Those that had no website or a shitty website I tried to find their logo/pictures of their place off of facebook or yelp then replaced all of the defaults on the template with the images I found. Then just email then call them and show them the site. Let them know you put this together real quickly to show what the site would look like, and just used some images you found on the web. Do as much as you can with what you can find. I landed about 20 clients that way, average sale $900.

  45. Yes, for SEO depends very much (for the full package). But how much just for the website? I don't know what works better ($300 per website or more than $1500-$2000 price ranges).

  48. Thank you very much, guys! Fantastic. Very helpful and great information!
  49. your local area use yelp or other apps like it depending your country its the easiest and most lucrative way local small medium business are going to pay 2x more then most people on the internet.

  52. I like passive income so if its a small business newer not making a lot of money yet i can charge them cheaper for the design, but charge them a little more for hosting
  53. because i like to build up my monthly hosting checks

  57. I thought to create packages which includes hosting for an entire year, but I think it's better to have package with a monthly fee.

  59. I try not to itemize the client invoices too much, since that only encourages comparison shopping with less-reputable sources. But in general, I try to go toward the higher end ($3-5k+) for design-only clients, and contracted clients get the site ("setup fee") for around half that price, a monthly fee in the low hundreds, and a free redesign each year they're under contract. (Very few actually request the redesign every year, but it's a major selling point since the "retail value" completely offsets the monthly fees.)
  60. I get longer-term clients at a higher monthly cost, and the clients get a stable monthly invoice without worrying about redesign fees or having an outdated site.

  63. yea i have sites that i made like 2 years ago for the client they liked the design and they are busy and i never hear from them since 2 years and they been automatically paying for hosting ever since
  64. i like to find as many clients like this to grow my passive income i want to host sites for the next 5 to 10 years
  65. i also charge fair competitive price for design and website setup but we all know anyone can do this nowadays with wordpress visual builders etc
  66. and you need to think business terms, with A.I(atrifical intelli) on the rise website design is done soon enough most big hosting companies already have website builder soon they will all have A.I website builders
  67. so one thing is for sure '' DATA" is not going anywhere servers will grow
  68. this means hosting will be around far longer than designers
  69. and thats the position i want to be in
  70. im in it for the long game
