  1. Fallout: New Vegas Any% Detailed Text Route/Guide
  2.
  3.
  4. These notes works better if you've watched a run before you start reading.
  5.
  6. Before starting, make sure you've capped FPS to 60 or below. (VSync is shit and still makes the game run faster than hard capping with 3rd party tools)
  7. Have only the Mercenary Pack DLC enabled (shows up as Courier's Stash in steam) - DLC is optional, current route doesn't benefit from it. (You need to actually delete the DLC from the \Data\ folder since disabling them through the launcher/steam won't do anything)
  8.
  9. Rebind Quicksave and Quickload to keys that you easily can reach (For example I have quicksave bound to Q and quickload bound to G).
  10.
  11. Use Livesplit as timer and set your game in split files as Fallout: New Vegas, and activate the load remover (Make sure you're comparing against Game Time).
  12.
  13. The latest steam version for the game is what the run is performed on.
  14.
  15. QSQL = QuickSave and QuickLoad. Technique used to abuse several game mechanics such as skipping dialogue, negate fall damage, clip through walls and reset NPC attack animations.
  16.
  17. FT = Fast Travel.
  18.
  19. Mashing both Left Mouse Button and ENTER is the fastest way to get through dialogue. This however risks skipping triggers. The only time this matters in Any% is with Doc Mitchells dialogue, but if you do other categories such as Max Quests this is something to keep in mind.
  20.
  21. Time Stop: Bring up the map screen and mash/time Right Click (Much, much easier to do if you unbind right click from anything). If done correctly you will have a "Do you want to place a custom marker?" text box in the middle of your screen and everything around you should be frozen.
  22.
  23. Reload Dashing: Needs a gun with a one-bullet-at-a-time reload animation, and also ammunition for the gun. The fastest one to get is a .357 Revolver from Chet in Goodsprings, and he also sells at least two different ammo types for it (regular, hollow point, and .38 special). It's faster to just but 1 bullet of a specific ammo type and use the swap ammo key instead of shooting and then reload the gun.
  24. After hotkeying the gun for better chaining (I use 1 because hey that's close to 2, which is the swap ammo button) equip the gun, move in a direction and initiate the reload animation with 2 (Swapping ammo, only press once) and press TAB or F2 once to queue up the pipboy (Keep holding movement key). When pipboy is up, unequip the gun using either keyboard or click it with your mouse. Using the keyboard is more consistent, however if you press enter twice the game will crash. After unequipping your gun, press TAB to close menu again and you should go flying in the direction you held.
  25. >>(Hold W, press 2 then F2/TAB, Unequip Gun, TAB)
  26.
  27. Video explaining and showing glitches: https://youtu.be/AQVjFOIH5A0
  28.
  29. When I write LEFT, RIGHT, UP, DOWN I'm referring to the Arrow Keys on the keyboard. It's awkward but also hardcoded, so you can't rebind them.
  30.
  31. Useful Console Commands (For practice only, not allowed in runs)
  32. tgm - God Mode (unlimited ammo and health)
  33. tcl - noclip
  34. tcg - visualize invisible walls and collisions
  35. player.setav speedmult xxx - increase walking speed
  36.
