Divorced sheith w/ child AU: Keith and Shiro fell in love young and had a child, etc. when they were quite young and later on divorced. They still love each other, though. Now they're still cooperating to raise their child (either Kuro or Sven or both!). Why they separated is up to you, maybe they were young and too immature, had a long distance relationship and decided to separate, maybe they had a huge fight, cheating, etc. They could be friendly with each other or passive aggressive (as long as their kids aren't traumatised by it, please). And they could get back together, have some sorta affair, have some sort of hate-love thing going on, etc. How they kids came to be would be good to discuss, too, adoption, a/b/o, a surrogate, a previous relationship, etc. Up to us! Shiro could have had other marriages or relationships between their divorce and now if you like. Let's discuss how old we want them to be, so we're on the same page. )) -- "Kiddo/s! Your father's here to pick you up for school!", Keith shouted as he looked through the peephole of the door, holding Kosmo back at the collar as he excitedly barked at the door. He opened it and leaned with his arms crossed against the door frame, giving his ex-husband a cool look. Keith was wearing a thin loose t-shirt, the slightest bit transparent, tugged into a pair of black gym shorts. It was way too warm and Keith was looking forward to working from home and eat nothing but ice cream today, especially now that he didn't have to be a role model for his kid/s. Not while Shiro had him/them for this month. They switched each month although the kid/s were free to stay where he/they wanted if the other parent's house was closer. But they still saw the other parent during the weekends then. The kid/s had become quite mobile, used to the constant change of location by now. Somehow, Keith and Shiro had managed to remain civil in front of their child even during and immediately after the divorce. Keith was quite proud of that, considering he did have some anger management to do. Much like right now. Because he was pissed off. "You didn't come to pick him up yesterday. What happened?", Keith asked, voice low and slightly threatening as he glared. "He was/They were upset, you know? You better listen to his boring biology project, it's the only thing keeping his mood up right now." That and all the popsicles Keith had been given him to combat the heat. It's not like this was the first of Shiro's slip-ups and it wasn't like Keith had never slipped up, too. Especially considering he took trips with his bike buddies sometimes, road trips that could mean an unsteady schedule if they took a day longer to come back home. But Keith still wasn't about to let it slide. However, maybe, just maybe he was also a little worried about Shiro, who was always on time and always so well organised. So, Keith's glare softened into worry the slightest bit as he leaned in. "This isn't like you, Shiro. Not calling ahead or after. Did something happen?"
Takashi Shirogane: Oh i love the concept, maybe they broke up because Shiro cheated with Adam or Curtis? Or maybe they just split because he was too invested in work and keith couldnt stand being stood up and left alone or the time, so they split, and thats why shiro is really trying to be present with the children and keith? i think itd be cool if they had both the kids through adoption and maybe theyre like mid to late 20s? ))

Like, maybe keith got fed up having to fight for shiro's attention and it e ded up with a huge fight and the divorce? Also, yeah i like the idea of adoption, i'd love if they've adopted the kids and divorced several years ago, though. Like, maybe it's been two years since the divorce? And, they adopted the two kids pretty young?

Takashi Shirogane: Oh yeah! sounds good to me, especially if its been several years since the divorce. I think it'd be good to keep the cannon age gap since most people change the ages so that the gap is smaller, but i always think it makes more sense with it like it is originally))

Takashi Shirogane: yeah! maybe Kuro blames Shiro for him not having two parents and so doesnt really like him that much, since he had always been attached to keith more. And yeah, i think theyre 21 and 26 by the end of the show, but keith is actually 3 years younger than that in earth years cause of season 6))

Takashi Shirogane: Takashi stood at the door of his ex Husbands house, the house that they had both lived in together, with a small, slightly sad smile. Yes, he loved his kids.... and he loved Keith, but everything was getting tiring. The back and forth between the houses, and he was sure it was just as bad for the kids. Shiro wasn't stupid, he knew that Kuro didn't see him as a father anymore, he hadn't even called him dad since he moved out. So he was really lacking the motivation to keep this facade up. It was such a facade. He pretended that he was happy and joyful, pretended that he was the same father they had when he and keith were together... but that just wasnt true. He was sad, demotivated and had a borderline drinking problem. He stood, waiting for a scolding, and thats what he got, he was told exactly how he was late and how he had upset Sven, he just shook his head at that "i'm... i'm sorry, something came up at work and i couldnt get out of it. It wont happen again" he spoke like a schoolchild who had been told off by a teacher; honestly that is how he felt. He looked up to Keith as a father, he was a much better dad than he would ever be.
Keith Kogane (Divorced sheith w/ child AU, Send x for starter): "Work," he murmured bitterly, only remembering clearly why they weren't together anymore. Shiro was the love of Keith's life. Even now, Keith was sure that he'd never love a man as much as he loved Shiro. There were few he had loved in his life -his dad being rhe first and only one for many years until he had met Shiro. And then when they had adopted their kids. But Keith had gotten tired of running after Shiro and, being the one working from home most of the time, Keith had spent a lot of time with their kids. Now, it made Keith feel a little guilty, to see the disconnection between Shiro and one of his kids. And he could only hope ot'll work out somehow. Keith was trying, Shiro was too, and that would just have to be enough. Someday. "Well, I'm glad you're okay then-" "Dad! Dad! Kuro said a bad word!" "No, I didn't! Dad, where're my shoelaces?" Seconds later Sven came running down the stairs, rocket-launching into Shiro's arms. Keith pinched the bridge of his nose as he shouted back to the upstairs. "Well, where did you leave them?" How could it be that Kuro was always running late?

Takashi Shirogane: He, heard the bitterness to Keiths tone and winced but Takashi's smile brightened when he saw Sven shoot down the stairs " hey there champ!!" he picked him up and spun with him slightly. Apart from keith, Sven was Shiros favorite person in the world, he was so pure, kind hearted and innocent- he only hoped that he would grow up to be the same. Although his smile faltered a little when he heard Kuro shout back to Keith "I dont know! and i dont care! I dont even want to see Shiro" Thant hurt. A lot. That not only would he not call him pops anymore, he also wanted nothing to do with him. But instead of letting that show for too long, he turned his attention back to Sven, tickling his tummy lightly "how about we go to the zoo tomorrow huh? Then you can see the hippos!" he looked at the hippo plush the toddler was clutching, he was just like Keith.
Keith Kogane (Divorced sheith w/ child AU, Send x for starter): Keith's heart always warmed and ached all the same when Sven so enthusiastically interacted with his pops. He'd never get used to the breaking of their family peace. And sometimes -especially when the kids were in bed and keith sat in the living room at 3am with a beer in hand- if he had fucked it up. Maybe he should have just swallowed the loneliness. Especially when Kuro was bejng difficult-and god knows, all tweens started to get difficult one way or another- it really really hurt, Keith clenched his teeth, tried his best not to show it too much. "I'm right back," he announced softly as he padded up the stairs. It was much the same as Keith so often did when Kuro was like this. He sat down with Kuro, tried to explain that it hurt Keith seeing that Kuro was being a dick to his dad. Keith had long given up on defending Shiro in front of Kuro, figuring out eventually that it omly made the tween close off. "So. Can you go down for me and just say hi and let him drive you to school? Be civil?" Keith sighed, running his fingers through Kuro's short hair. He had inherited Shiro's early greying already. "You know I don't care if you swear as long as it's not in front of your brother or authorities and not to insult people, right? You can say fuck if the moment's appropriate." Definitely something Shiro and him had never agreed on.

Takashi Shirogane: Takashi watched Keith go up the stairs with a sigh and let himself into the house, thinking it was weird to stand at the door. He stayed in the hall way though, simply entertaining Sven as they jabbered nonsense to each other. Kuro however, was not as calm, he pushed his dad off, something he would never usually do as he loved attention, he was such a 'mamas' boy. "Look, he hurt you Dad, he's never been my father since then. He was never around for me and he clearly prefers Sven. Im going to walk to school!" Really, a lot of that wasnt true. Kuro didn't hate shiro, not even one bit, he simply missed them being a family and didnt know how to deal with that. Instead of staying close to both of them - he thought seeing only one of his fathers would make it easier. The anger he felt towards Takashi would soon fizzle out, if he just gave him a chance since it was clear that the man really was trying with his sons.
Keith Kogane (Divorced sheith w/ child AU, Send x for starter): There was a knot in Keith's stomach that twisted painfully when Kuro pushed his hand away. That definitely hurt. Keith's hand hovered in the air for a moment before he slowly let it sink. Ever since they had gotten kids, Keith had put a huge load of effort into his anger managements. It was later through medicak records that Keith had found out that his own dad had had severe anger issues and somehow, he had never let Keith know. Keith's own dad really was Keith's biggest rolemodel. To Keith he was a hero. "He- Yes, he hurt me, but we worked it out. Your father and I are on good terms now, he's apologised. There's no need for you to be angry at him for me." And Keith really didn't want him to be, didn't want to push his problem on his kids. But Keith was also a big believe in absolute honesty. "Shiro does not prefer Sven over you, Kuro. Sven just- Your brother just isn't angry at Shiro, that's all." Keith stood, still taller than Kuro for the time being. But they had also clearly inherited Shiro's height, according to their growth spurts. "All I'm asking, is to be civil with him. Polite. Give him a chance, he's really trying to make things right." With his children at least. Not much with Keith. "For me?" He stood there with his arms loose, clearly up for a hug if Kuro choose one. "I'm not letting you walk to school, you'll just be late."
Takashi Shirogane: Kuro immediately took the hug that was offered but frowned "fine... but its only for you dad.... not for him." he huffed after he spoke before stepping away and mumbling slightly under his breath "im sorry..." After a while of waiting Takashi called up stairs to them "Kuro, if you're quick enough ill take you to that Candy store you like before school and i'll let you get whatever you like." He really hoped that would help get him in Kuros good books, yes, Keith wouldnt be too impressed buttt he would get over it.
Keith Kogane (Divorced sheith w/ child AU, Send x for starter): Keith relaxed lightly as Kuro took the hug, glad he wasn't being rejected again. Immediately his arms went around his dear son, kissing his head, running a hand over his hair like he always did. "Thanks, puppy," he muttered but couldn't shake off the guilt. It was still Keith's fault that Kuro didn't like his father and it ate away at Keith every day. As Kuro pulled away, Keith quirked a smile. "I think I found your shoe laces. The neon purple sticking out from between the books, Kuro." As Kuro went to get his shoelaces, they heard Shiro's calling and Keith couldn't help rolling hisneyes fondly. Even before the divorce, Shiro had always liked to treat them to something. As they finally made their ways downstairs, Keith raised an eyebrow at Shiro. "You're paying for the dentist appointment then. Please dom't give them cavities is all I ask. Sven, say bye to dad?" Keith crouched down to his younger son's height. "Shiro, don't forget thst next week I've got the trips with the Blades. You need to watch them for that week."
Takashi Shirogane: Kuro grinned and grabbed his shoe laced before following him downstairs. Shiro ginned at them both as they reached the bottom "yeah, yeah, It'll be my responsibility if their teeth rot, you've told me timmeee and timme again." He chuckled as he spoke and rolled his eyes. He ruffled Svens hair before looking at Kuro, he wanted to tell his son how he missed him and wanted to hug him... but he respected Kuro's boundries. But, he soon moved his attention back to Keith "Yeah... ill clean my apartment" he never like the Blades, he thought it was too dangerous and keith knew that, but it wasnt his place to say anything anymore.
