  1. >Be Anonymous
  2. >And today is a pretty big day in Equestria, apparently
  3. >It's the Grand Galloping Gala, everypony was constantly talking to you about it, explaining what it was, especially Twilight
  4. >And apprarently, you earned the right to actually join in, with a ticket from the princess of the sun herself, Celestia
  5. >For some reason, you seemed uninteresting, but staying home and read a book wouldn't be any better, so why not just go and make your friends happy just with your presence?
  6. >It's about 3:00 PM at the moment and already you need to get prepared for this event
  7. >Putting on a good set of clothes to wear, you arrive at the train station and Twilight, Rarity, Rainbow Dash were staring at you, seeming like they were waiting for hours on end
  8. >They didn't say anything about it and just greeted you normally
  9. >Fast forwarding the long ride to the destination, Canterlot, you finally arrive at the Grand Galloping Gala
  10. >And just with a few seconds from stepping inside, you realise you are alone
  11. >All of your friends seemed to have their own appointments
  12. >Wow, then what was the point of going here then?
  13. >Goddamnit, might as well go to the bar and get drunk off of your ass. Again
  14.
  15. >Obviously, you would get the stares from the ponies who resided in Canterlot, but you got used to it from Ponyville's glares
  16. >Looking around for the bar, you come across some ponies carrying huge cases, making their way into the dinning room apparently
  17. >You decided to ignore them and just look for what you were looking for
  18. >Grinning at yourself, you reach your destination and sit down on one of the chairs
  19. >No time for introductions, you jump right in for what you want
  20. "Give me the hardest, strongest drink you have on here. A full glass please."
  21. >The bartender looked at you as if you were insane for asking such a request, but he nods anyways and prepares your drink in a matter of seconds, tossing it to you once it's done
  22. >You felt generous today and reach for your wallet to give that stallion a tip for the great service
  23. >He accepts it with gratitude, as he smiles gently and bows down in front of you, like a sir
  24. >"Thank you, mister."
  25. >And with that he's off to another client
  26. >As you take a few sips from your drink, some vibrating strings not that far away came ringing in your ear, catching your interest immediately
  27. >You turn around to see where the sound originated from and it was literally a few feet away from you
  28. >The pony continue to practice the basics just to warm herself up
  29. >The musician was coated in grey fur, with purple eyes to give a sort of elegant contrast
  30. >But what was most elegant about her, is that perfectly combed hair
  31. >It's as if she spent more than an hour on it, kinda makes it funny the more you think about this
  32. >She stopped to make eye contact with you due to the constant stare you gave her
  33. >"Um...Is everything alright, mister?"
  34.
  35. "Oh, me?"
  36. >She rolls her eyes, like if it wasn't obvious enough
  37. >"Yes, you." as she replies with a cold tone
  38. "Everything's alright, why would there be something wrong?"
  39. >"Well, it's just that you were gazing at me intensively and it was starting to distract me while I was practicing."
  40. "Oh, sorry about that! I was lost in my train of thoughts while looking at you."
  41. >"It is fine, mister...?"
  42. "Anonymous. But you can call me Anon, if you'd like."
  43. >"Well mister Anonymous, I do not mind you listening to my warm-up session, I just was caught off guard by your stare."
  44. "I am terribly sorry, I'll try not to do it as much. Is it okay with you, madam...?"
  45. >"Melody. Octavia Melody and no, it is alright."
  46. "Got it,
  47. >And with that, she goes back to practicing the songs she will perform tonight
  48. >Oh well, at least there will be some good coming out of this whole thing after all.
  49. >You didn't notice it from afar, but she was always faintly blushing whenever you were eyeing her while she practiced
  50. >After a while, you stopped it and turned back to just enjoy the sound she produces with that cello of hers
  51. >Everytime the bartender filled one up for you, he was always gifted with a tip, with each one decreasing with value, of course
  52. >As much as you feel generous, you don't want to be broke by the time you go back to Ponyville.
  53. >An hour passes by and the whole orchestra was finally united
  54. >Wait, did she do this all the time? that's pretty damn impressive
  55. >Now you're actually eager to hear her full talent burst with the whole group being there
  56. >It takes a while for them to start their first song, but when they did, it sounded like pure musical bliss
  57. >the type of music was perfect for an event like this, it was a sort of slow tempo song and it was giving out an atmosphere of it's own
  58. >The more you look at the band as a whole, the more you feel immersed in the song
  59. >Surely, this was going to be a good night.
  60.
  61. >After a couple of songs, the group stopped playing, saying that they will be back in 30 minutes
  62. >But only Octavia stayed there, still continuing to practice
  63. >Now's the time
  64. >You jump off of your seat and approach the stage, with Octavia looking at you
  65. >"Is...there anything I can do for you?"
  66. >You jump on the seat and sit on the edge, getting comfortable
  67. "Not really, I just wanted to compliment you on your playstyle, I really like it!"
  68. >"Oh? Well I appreciate the compliment, mister..."
  69. >She does make a faint blush pop out of her cheeks once more, but this time you actually noticed it
  70. "Say, would you want to have a drink with me after the performance?"
  71. >"With me? But we barely just met! Why would you want to do that?"
  72. "Well...It's just that I think you look pretty interesting, and I'd like to spend some time with you, so that we can get to know each other better!"
  73. >Octavia pauses for a second before replying
  74. >"...I'll think about it, after the performance."
  75. "Gotcha."
  76. >After this short little meeting, the group comes back and politely asks you to get off the stage
  77. >You obey and go back to your seat, without ordering another drink
  78. >No drinks until either Octavia accepts or declines your offer, if there's one thing that would look pretty dumb about you is getting drunk
  79. >Apparently there was a few songs left
  80. >The only thing that might make you worry is if the girls decides to leave before Octavia's done
  81. >As soon as another song starts, you decide to relax and not think too much, just watch the ponies play, and listen to the notes they release from their instrument
  82.
  83. >After an hour or so, it's finally over
  84. >It's finally time to hear Octavia's answer
  85. >The whole group left, with the only exception being her
  86. >She just stood there, looking at you with her Cello, protected in the case
  87. >The both of you stare at each other's eyes, it does bring an awkward setting around
  88. >Octavia jumps off the stage with her case in her mouth, walking towards you
  89. >"...I accept."
  90. >Exactly the response that you wanted
  91. >You nod and wait for her to sit next to you, so that you can buy a drink for the musician
  92. "What would you want before we start conversing?"
  93. >"Something soft, I'm not too keen of being drunk."
  94. >You order what she requested and in a matter of seconds, the drink is in front of her muzzle
  95. >Placing the bits on the counter, you look at her and she hasn't taken a sip yet
  96. >"And for you, mister?" the bartender asks you, seemingly going for the same drink you asked previously
  97. "I'll take the same thing as the ravishing pony, please."
  98. >Already going with the smooth talk, eh?
  99. >Octavia dosen't a say a word but instead smiles at your compliment
  100. >Already this is going great
  101. >She turns to look at you, taking a sip of the drink before saying something
  102. >"Mister I appreciate your kindess towards me, but you didn't really have to pay my drink."
  103. "Ah c'mon, don't think too much about it? it's all on me for tonight."
  104. >Octavia hesitantly nods, taking another sip from her glass
  105. >It seems that she won't start the small talk, so jump right in
  106. "I'm guessing this is what you do for a living?"
  107. >"Indeed, I've been doing this since I was a foal, went on every competition possible and mostly won every one of them!"
  108. >Dang, that's actually pretty impressive
  109. >It was leaving jaw dropped to hear that, she must've practiced way more than 10,000 hours
  110. "That's...pretty impressive."
  111. >Octavia giggles at your reaction and thanks you for the compliment
  112. >"So what about you? What do you do for a living?"
  113.
  114.
  115. "Oh, me? I was and still am a substitute teacher about the history of my race and culture!"
  116. >She does seem interested in it, as she leans on the table, getting comfortable so that she dosen't get distracted when listening
  117. >"That sounds pretty interesting, please do continue."
  118. "Well uh...It's a pretty long story, but is there anything in particular that you would want to know about?"
  119. >"If there's one topic I like is music! So why not talk about it a little? Is it similiar to ours?"
  120. "Yeah, it does sound similar. The only difference is that it's performed by humans, not ponies."
  121. >Octavia gently giggles at your reponse and it did give her an idea for another question
  122. >"Wait, I just thought of something, do animals act the same way they do on Equestria? By that I mean, do they talk?"
  123. >You shake your head slowly, making her a tad dissapointed
  124. "Unfortunately, no. they don't do anything that you ponies do. they don't talk or do anything of the sort that you do."
  125. >"oh. it must be pretty boring with them then."
  126. "No, not really, actually! some animals are fun, like dogs, always being loyal to you no matter what. You can even train them to play dead or some other cool things like that."
  127. >"That sounds quite fun, actually."
  128. "Mhm."
  129. >"so, do you have a sample of what human music sounds like?"
  130. "Depending on what type of music do you like, sure."
  131. >"Great, when?"
  132. "Uh I forgot my earphones and I don't want every...pony, to hear it."
  133. >Octavia lowers her head down, but thinks of a good idea
  134. >"Wait, that really isn't a problem, we could always listen to it together at my residence?"
  135. >Oh my god, did she really ask you that
  136. >You obviously want to say yes but it might a bit too soon for that
  137. "Hold on, you mean now?"
  138. >"I wouldn't mind it if it were later or now, mister Anon."
  139. >She really was that interested in music culture, huh
  140. "Well uh...later, okay? I would like to talk to you a little bit more here."
  141. >"very well then, Anon. So what would you want to talk about?"
  142.
  143. >Before you could say anything, Octavia abruptly interrupts you with a question that may have been bugging her mind for a while
  144. >"Actually anon, I have a question to ask you."
  145. "Sure, ask away."
  146. >"Do you...play any instrument of the sort?"
  147. "Uh...Not really, no."
  148. >She does seem a tad dissapointed
  149. >"Oh...It would've been amusing for you to play an instr-"
  150. "Octavia, just because I don't know how, dosen't mean I don't want to."
  151. >You caught her attention, and then you have one hell of an amazing idea
  152. "Maybe you could...teach me the basics of the Cello?"
  153. >Octavia thinks about it while rearranging her mane
  154. >"I suppose it wouldn't be such a bad idea. When would you want to start learning?"
  155. "Whenever you want to teach me, Octavia."
  156. >That might be the best idea to interact with the pony in question
  157. >"We can start tomorrow, I am a bit fatigued. I've been practicing everything since dawn."
  158. >You unfolds your eyelids fully, evidently surprised at the fact she just gave
  159. "Wow...I don't even think I've seen any musician as dedicated to their talent like you."
  160. >"I appreciate the compliment, Anonymous."
  161. >And it shows with the red taint of color slowly increasing on both her cheeks
  162. >"You're quite the flatterer, aren't you?"
  163. "I don't think I can say anything bad about you, Octavia. You're quite the beauty to the eye."
  164. >The blush is basically part of her fur now
  165. >"Ah Anon, please..."
  166. >You chuckle a little, before thinking of asking of her whereabouts
  167. "So Octavia, where do you live so that I can go to your place for the Cello lessons?"
  168. >"Oh, I live not far from Ponyville. What about you?"
  169. >Sweet, but you kinda wonder why she lives near there when she basically could have all the money of the musical world with that talent
  170. "I actually live in Ponyville, so at least it won't be long before I arrive at your location."
  171. >"Actually, how about we meet somewhere we both know about? Maybe at the town hall?"
  172. "Sounds good!"
  173.
  174. >Unfortunately, as you look at the time on your watch, the Gala is about to be over
  175. "Oh damn, it's about time. I really had fun talking with you, Octavia."
  176. >"I share the same feelings, Anonymous. You indeed are an interesting person."
  177. >She says all that while presenting you a warm, small smile
  178. >You give the smile back, before getting off the seat
  179. >Octavia follows you, looking like she has a plan in her head
  180. >"Well, since you live in Ponyville, we could always walk together to our residences?"
  181. >Why didn't you think of that
  182. >At least she did
  183. "Oh yeah, sure. We could take the train together! You have a ticket, right?"
  184. >"Of course I do."
  185. "Alright then, shall we?"
  186. >Octavia nods and with that, the both of you are heading to the train station, however, no words are expressed, just quick looks and glances at each other
  187. >It's only when you enter the train you start conversing about little things, nothing too special, just getting to know each other a little bit more
  188. "Octavia, you never did answer what was your favorite type of music."
  189. >"Oh, right. well it's mostly classical, and a fine touch of jazz."
  190. >Ah, you definetely got that on your phone, mostly on the jazz department
  191. "Oh that's good, I like jazz alot, actually. In my universe, it was a pretty popular genre."
  192. >"Really? I'm pretty eager to know what it sounds like compared to our version of Jazz."
  193. "Heheh, I'm pretty sure you'll like it."
  194. >After that, it went back to silence again until the train stopped to Ponyville
  195. >Getting out, she looks like she's having a bit of difficulty of carrying her cello
  196. >It did look pretty heavy, after all
  197. "Do you want me to help you with that?"
  198. >"...I wouldn't mind the assistance."
  199. >She drops her case and you pick it right back up, not having any difficulties of the sort
  200. >"Thank you, Anonymous."
  201. "Don't mention it, Octavia."
  202. >She takes the lead to show where her house is and it dosen't take too long to reach it
  203. >"Again, I must thank you, Anon."
  204.
  205. "Ah c'mon Octavia, it was nothing."
  206. >"Maybe it was for you, but for me it meant alot...I don't get alot of help from other people due to my cold exterior."
  207. >Yeah she did kind of present that at first, she looked like she was pretty annoyed at everything, other than her cello, of course
  208. >"So that's why It means alot to me, Anonymous..."
  209. "Octavia..."
  210. >"I can't be satisfied with just giving you a simple thanks, I must give you something else in return!"
  211. >She was about to say something else, you interrupt her by turning your head left and right
  212. "It's alright, don't worry. Just spending time with you will be just enough."
  213. >Octavia blushes yet again, trying to hold it in
  214. >She dosen't say a word and nods
  215. "So I'll catch up with you tomorrow, alright?"
  216. >"Alright, Anon. See you."
  217. >That warm smile of hers was the last thing you saw of her that night
  218. >As you're about to head home, you're interrupted by one the elements of harmony, magic
  219. >"Where were you, Anon? I was looking for you everywhere in the castle!"
  220.
  221. "I was meeting someone, sorry."
  222. >That sentence immediately gets her attention
  223. >"Oh? who was it?"
  224. "She was from the music group in the gala, I stood there all night while drinking some alcohol."
  225. >"Ah I see, it's just try to find at least one of us to say that you're not going to follow, okay?"
  226. >It's easier said than done, obviously
  227. >You simply nod and wave her goodbye, you'll talk to her later
  228. >Arriving home, you don't take long to jump in the shower, you don't want to be late for this lesson
  229. >It takes you 5 minutes to get in and out of the shower
  230. >And it takes about the same amount of time to get to sleep
  231.
  232. >You are Octavia
  233. >And ever since Anon left, all you could think about was him
  234. >He really was something else from the others, he actually seemed pretty happy while talking to you, looking like he wanted to know about you
  235. >It actually pretty wierd to get to talk to someone like this
  236. >Nobody did talk to you alot, rumors said it's because you looked like the type of pony who didn't want to talk to anybody
  237. >And they weren't really wrong, your cold exterior kind of gave it away
  238. >But Anon seemed like he didn't care
  239. >Maybe he did see through that
  240. >It could've went a total different way, but you didn't want to think about that
  241. >all you wanted to think about is how happy you were for engaging such a good conversation that lasted for more than 10 minutes
  242. >That's a feeling you haven't felt in a while
  243. >But thank Celestia it happend again
  244. >Just because of that, you should give him something else other than lessons
  245. >But you have to stop thinking a little, it's time to get prepared to sleep, you don't want to be tired and look unpresentable while teaching him the basics
  246. >You do your night routine in about 15 minutes and hop in your bed, with your last thought of how you think the next day is going to proceed
  247.
  248. >After a while, the sun rises and a beam of light hits you on the face, due to you not closing the blinds properely
  249. >You hide yourself in your covers, then you realized that you had to wake up for Anon
  250. >What time was it anyways?
  251. >9:00 AM
  252. >Oh bloody hell, might as well get up
  253. >You get the feeling that if you were to sleep 5 more minutes, it will turn into 3 hours
  254. >And then you realize that you haven't set a time to meet up, you start to worry if he'll be there, at the town hall
  255. >Maybe you're worrying about this a little too much, he did say he was going to go
  256. >He dosen't seem like the liar type, well at least from what you know
  257. >But how about getting off the bed and prepare yourself, hm?
  258. >Jumping out of the bed, you walk over to the bathroom to take a shower, like you do everyday
  259. >Turning the quirks left and right to adjust the temperature that is comfortable for you, you think in better detail on how the day will go
  260. >The possibilities aren't endless, but they are numerous
  261. >Temperature's set and you jump right in, letting the hot water hit your mane, making you blinded by your mane in the process
  262. >Now it is the perfect time to think and not worry about anything
  263. >Unfortunately, nothing really pops up in your mind
  264. >You previously used all of your ideas while you were in deep slumber
  265.
  266. >You are Anonymous
  267. >And it's 9 AM, you've been awake for 2 hours now, with no apparent reason to wake up that early
  268. >The feeling just got to you
  269. >You slide off of your bed and head down to the kitchen to get a sweet bowl of cereal for breakfast
  270. >Sliding the items you need to make the mix off your top shelves and placing them on the table, There's this eager sensation that presents itself in you for what's about to come next
  271. >That freaking cello lesson
  272. >Will it be difficult? Will it be easy?
  273.
  274. >It does seem pretty interesting though, so maybe you'll enjoy it alot!
  275. >After finishing your cereal, you go and get ready, at 8 AM
  276. >Goddamn, just 8 AM?
  277. >If there's one thing you don't want to do is to be too early there, might make her be in a bad mood for the rest of the day
  278. >Well, maybe you could go for a walk for the time being? maybe you could meet at...11 AM? Yeah that dosen't sound so bad, everybody is normally awake at this point, right?
  279. >Placing your bowl in the dishbin, you run up the stairs and walk to your room, followed by opening your closet
  280. > the first clothes you see, you notice it's actually a pretty casual combination
  281. >White T-Shirt, Blue jeans. You know, casual
  282. >Taking your earphones with you this time, you're finally ready to distract yourself until the time comes
  283. >You put your shoes on and finally opens the door that leads to the outside world
  284. >Before making another step, you put your earphones and slide your thumb up on the touchscreen of the handy device to pick the song you want to listen to right now
  285. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMCrs642Fmk [Embed]
  286. >Now you're ready, for the great day ahead of you
  287. >You look at your pocket and it's full of golden bits
  288. >While you're at it, might as well buy something for her
  289. >Just as a gift for actually taking some time for you
  290. >But...What could you actually buy her to make her happy? You don't really know alot about her
  291. >You could always buy her a vinyl of a jazz album, but what if she already has all of them that are sold here?
  292. >Well christ, you'll have to be creative for once
  293. >Actually, why are you thinking of this now? you're going a bit too fast there, slick
  294. >Try to know her more before going any stupid decision
  295.
  296. >You take a turn down at Octavia's residence, hesitating a little on knocking on the door
  297. >But you give in and finally do it
  298. >Surprisingly, it didn't take long for the door to open, as you are presented by Octavia, accompanied by a smile
  299. >"Oh well hello, Anon."
  300. >You never did realise it before, but that british accent of her was pretty cute
  301. >Made you all fuzzy inside, for a reason that you can't really find
  302. "Hello,Tavi. May I come in?"
  303. >"Tavi? Hm, I suppose it is not a bad name for me...But yes, you may step inside."
  304. >Stepping out of the way clearly gave her enough time to hide her blush, as she slowly walks towards her room to indicate that's where the two of you will be practicing
  305. >Polite manners kicks in and you take off your shoes, revealing some white socks
  306. >You quickly run up to her and take the opportunity to look at her more clearly
  307. >Everything about her seemed so, ravishing
  308. >The way her mane is brushed, that light-toned grey fur, those purple eyes...
  309. >And that smile of hers was just an icing on the cake
  310. >"Anon!"
  311. "Ah! Uh..What?"
  312. >"I was asking how you felt today, you were staring at me for a brief moment."
  313. >You apologize and begin to say how you felt this morning, explaining that you woke up earlier than normal
  314. >She seemed quite surprised by that, but she decides to take it a different route which you didn't expect
  315. >"it's because you were excited for the cello lessons, I presume?"
  316. >You shrug, while it was part of the reason
  317. "Maybe. I have no idea, Tavi."
  318. >Octavia turns her head to the right, giving you a sign that it's her room
  319. >She opens the door and dosen't take long to grab her cello and sit on her bed
  320. >Oh boy, this is it
  321. >The point of no return
  322. >You knew this was going to happen, but just by being present made you more scared for what's about to come next
  323.
  324. >Octavia pats the amount of space on her bed left to tell you to sit on it
  325. >You do as requested and she turns her head around to look at you, with that small cute smile she normally has around you
  326. >"So Anon, do you think you're ready for these lessons?"
  327. >You nod hesitantly, hoping that you wouldn't fail this "test"
  328. >"Good, so is there any questions you need to ask me before we proceed?"
  329. >No that you know of, so you shake your head to respond
  330. >"Excellent. Let's start with the basics."
  331. >She instructs you about how to position yourself while playing the cello
  332. >It did feel uncomfortable at first, but she reassures you that it will seem more smooth as time will go on
  333. >But you interrupt her by saying that really isn't how humans played in your world because of the height difference, which grasps her interest
  334. >"Oh? how did they play?"
  335. "I can show you, but I need a chair."
  336. >She nods and goes in her kitchen to go grab one, returning very shortly after
  337. "Thank you, Tavi."
  338. >Octavia really didn't seem to be used to the name, as she still faintly paints her cheeks with red everytime you said it
  339. >But it's normal, it's the first day
  340. >Anyway, back onto the cello lesson
  341. >You sit down and put the instrument between your legs, and your curl a little bit foreward with the bow ready to swiftly move left and right close to the bridge
  342. >Your hands are positionned on the fingerboard, like you already know how to do this
  343. >"Um...Are you sure you never played this before?"
  344. "I'm pretty sure, why?"
  345. >"How you are positionned, it looks so...Professional."
  346. >You scratch the back of your neck with the bow, looking down on the ground
  347. "Oh c'mon Octavia, I'm no where near the professional level."
  348. >"Well, maybe you could show me what you know?"
  349. >Damnit, looks like you'll have to improvise on this
  350. >You begin to hit a few notes down, moving the bow at the wrong area though, but there was still a nice sounding note that came out of the instrument, to your surprise
  351. >But more to hers, as she is clearly staring at the way you are positionned
  352. >Octavia looks like she never saw that before
  353. >For a second, you felt like a professional
  354. >Until you realize that you've been doing the wrong notes for a while, but at least you steadily keep the momentum with the bow
  355. >But...she dosen't seem to mind it, in fact, she actually is enjoying it
  356. >"Well I do see that you have a long way to go, but I've seen worse."
  357. >That's...actually pretty recomforting
  358. "Thanks, Tavi. But I know I'll never be able to reach your level..."
  359. >"Oh, no need. Just as long as you enjoy it."
  360. "I'll enjoy it as long as I can spend some time with you."
  361. >Octavia looks away with a blush on her face, but still observes you with the corner of her eye
  362. >"I can't say I wouldn't enjoy your company as well, Anon..."
  363. "Thanks, so what do you think I should do now?"
  364. >"We always need to go for the basics, Anon. Therefore, we need to do the Octave. Do you know how to do the C note?"
  365. "Uh..."
  366. >She chuckles, fully realizing you basically everything out of your ass
  367. >"I see, well looks like I'll have to teach you, huh?"
  368. >After, you gained the power of actually hitting a note right, but not only just that
  369. >But you actually learned how to make a whole octave!
  370. >For once, there was a feeling inside that told you to be proud
  371. >And it even was more rewarding with her exclaiming "excellent" after you finally achieved it
  372. >You could't help yourself but to thank her with a warming embrace, and maybe one peck on the cheek
  373. >One which she delightfully returned it to you
  374. >She did giggle at your reaction once you looked at her for what she just did
  375. >"Don't take it too seriously, it was only for how well you progressed today."
  376. >You knew it wasn't for that, but it was the best cover story she could pull off, and it's quite a good one
  377. >So you decide to leave it at that
  378. "Say Octavia...What time is it?"
  379. >"Why it's 4 PM. Do you need to leave?" You can hear the dissapointment in her tone of voice
  380. >But luckily, there really isn't anything you had to do, so you'll be able to bring her hopes up again
  381. "Hell no. It's just that I was wondering if you wanted to go anywhere with me, like to the movies, restaurant...anything you'd like."
  382. >The musician smiles but lowers her head down to look on her bedroom carpet
  383. >"Oh, well I...You don't need to be this kind towards me, you know..."
  384. "Octavia I insist, for what you did for me today, I just need to do this, otherwise it wouldn't be a good trade."
  385. >She obviously didn't want to look like she was taking advantage of your money, since it took her a while to reply to your offer
  386. >"Well...There's one place we could go at."
  387.
  388. "Say Octavia...What time is it?"
  389. >"Why it's 4 PM. Do you need to leave?" You can hear the dissapointment in her tone of voice
  390. >But luckily, there really isn't anything you had to do, so you'll be able to bring her hopes up again
  391. "Hell no. It's just that I was wondering if you wanted to go anywhere with me, like to the movies, restaurant...anything you'd like."
  392. >The musician smiles but lowers her head down to look on her bedroom carpet
  393. >"Oh, well I...You don't need to be this kind towards me, you know..."
  394. "Octavia I insist, for what you did for me today, I just need to do this, otherwise it wouldn't be a good trade."
  395. >She obviously didn't want to look like she was taking advantage of your money, since it took her a while to reply to your offer
  396. >"Well...There's one place we could go at."
  397. "Which is...?"
  398. >Octavia responds with a smirk that slowly gets bigger as seconds go by
  399. >"Actually, how about you surprise me? I'm sure you're a man who has a few tricks up his sleeve..."
  400. >Putting you on the challenge, huh?
  401. "The challenge is accepted, Tavi. I know the perfect place for the both of us."
  402. >She nods and jumps off of her bed
  403. >"Before we go, could you wait a little moment? I have to prepare for this night."
  404. "Why? You absolutely look gorgeous right now."
  405. >"T-Thanks, but I would like to add a few touches to my appearance, okay?"
  406. >That's the first time she stuttered, and oh my lord was it cute
  407. >You have to find more ways for her to do that again
  408. >But you nod and leave her room, and you take the opportunity to look at her place a little bit deeper
  409. >You look a little bit above your head, and you see more than enough trophies displayed on shelves that we hanged on the walls
  410. >All of them were won by her, evidently
  411. >They were wondefully plated with gold, giving a sign that she won 1st place at every competition she participated in
  412. >It was truly amazing to think how much time and effort she put in for this
  413. >And oh lord, her trophies were all graved with her name on it, precisely telling the year and the season she won it at
  414. >That was quite impressive, she really did need alot of dedication for this thing
  415. >"Anon?"
  416. >Oh, quite the surprise, she was standing right next to you, not even bothering to look at the trophies
  417. >Just at you
  418. >Also, she was dressed in a black dressed that complimented well with her eyes, making them stand out a little bit more
  419. >You just knew that this wasn't made by an amateur, the way the texture was handeled would be only be done so by a professional
  420. >Maybe Rarity did it?
  421. >But that's not the point here, it was time to get out and hang out with the pony you admired so
  422. "You ready, Tavi?"
  423. >She nods and trots towards the door, waiting for you
  424. >Unfortunately, you didn't take the time to put on your shoes and tie them, so instead, you stuff the laces under your feet
  425. >There, problem's solved
  426. "So, shall we?"
  427.
  428. >She nods and opens the door for you, letting the dim light of the evening go in your vision
  429. >It didn't take long to get used to, and make your footstep out of the house
  430. >Octavia closes the door shortly after and trots to be standing next to you
  431. >She smiles at the horizon but dosen't commentate on it, or talk at all
  432. >For the whole trip she didn't talk, she just followed
  433. >It dosen't take long for the both of you to arrive, it is a small, fancy restaurant, sort of like an expresso in your universe
  434. >"Oh my Celestia! How did you know that it was my favorite?"
  435. >And with that, Octavia just bursted with excitement
  436. "I didn't know, I just that it would be a pretty good place to hang around with a pony as great looking as you."
  437. >She must be exploding with happiness at the moment, you compliment her yet again and take her to her favorite restaurant
  438. >Octavia's basically jumping up and down in excitement right now, until she realized that she was doing this in front of you
  439. >That professional attitude gets back to her and she clears her throat before saying anything else
  440. >"Well...I suppose you just got lucky."
  441. >You chuckle at her sentence, before reaching the door and opening it for her
  442. "After you, M'lady."
  443.
  444. >Octavia giggles, passing in front of you, getting inside of the restaurant
  445. >"My my, quite the gentleman you are, Anonymous..."
  446. >She slowly makes her way to a table, waiting for you
  447. >Just as you sit down, the waiter walks by with menus in her mouth
  448. >She places them on the table, greeting you nicely
  449. >"I will let you decide on what you want, take the time that you need." And with that, she's off in the same amount of time she appeared
  450. >The both of you grab the menu and it took alot of time to figure out what you wanted
  451. >it really was a tough decision, but you went for the ordinary coffee
  452. >Maybe later you'll test different drinks, but let's stick to the normal formula
  453. >Octavia puts her menu down and looks at you again, already made her decision
  454. >"Anon, I would like to know something."
  455. "Yes?"
  456. >"I would like to know how was your life back in your universe."
  457. >Well that sure isn't the question you thought she was going to ask, but there's not really a reason that you couldn't explain it to her
  458. >You begin to elaborate on how normal it was, also quite boring
  459. >Nothing really new happend around you, it was quite the boring routine
  460. >But the difference with Equestria however, is that there was always something new going on, there wasn't a single day that felt like the other
  461. >You might be stretching it a bit, but it did feel like that
  462. >While the explanation expanded, the waiter interrupts as she notices that the both of you put your menus down, and asks for your orders
  463. >"What would you like for today, sir?"
  464. "Ah, the usual. Coff-"
  465. >Just now, you realized that you were explaining how everything was the same
  466. >And you thought about your order, which is one you basically drank everyday
  467. "Wait scratch that, I'll take a..."
  468. >You look back at the menu, picking the first name that you find
  469. "Caramel Macchiato."
  470. >It raises Octavia's attention to know that you would go for a drink like this, maybe she likes it?
  471. >'Excellent. And for you?"
  472. >"Regular Cappucino would be fine."
  473. >The waitress nods and tells you it won't take long for the drinks to be done
  474. >With that, she's off to the kitchen
  475. >"So you were saying..." as Octavia proceeds, due to you being interrupted by the waitress
  476. "Oh. Well I was only about to say that I think my days will only get better with you around my life."
  477. >Tavi blushes brightly, but hides her face by lowering her head, covering the blush by her mane
  478. >"W-Well...I am truly honered to recieve that compliment, Anonymous...but I have no idea why it would be that way."
  479. >You couldn't reply with nothing else other than a shrug
  480. "I can't say really, you just seem so different than all the ponies on this land. You interest me more than the others, by that I mean you just look way more reserved, calm and collected than certains ponies I know. Maybe that's why I-"
  481. >The waitress comes back and places the drinks in front of the two of you, saying something among the lines of "hope you enjoy your drinks!"
  482. >You nod and leave it at that
  483. >For the remainer of the time you stay there, it was made in pure silence
  484. >You don't know if what you said affected Octavia in a way, but all you needed to do is hope that it was a good type of "affected"
  485. >When you notice she's done, you raise your hand for the waitress
  486. >Upon arriving, you tell her to give the bill, which she does shortly after demanding it
  487. >It isn't too pricy, maybe you could even get a dessert
  488. "Octavia? would you like some dessert before we go?"
  489. >"I decline the offer, I appreciate the thought of asking me about it, however."
  490. >You nod and pay immediately
  491. >Looking at the clock inside of the restaurant, you notice it isn't late at all, 4:45 PM
  492. >Maybe you could go for a movie tonight? Or better yet...a movie at her place?
  493. >The two leaves as soon as you paid, standing in front of the restaurant again, since there wasn't really any places to go at
  494. >Now's the time to break the silence
  495. "Octavia? I have a question to ask you."
  496. >"Ask away, Anonymous."
  497. "I was wondering if you would be interested in watching a movie with me? We could go at the theater if you'd like."
  498. >Octavia smiles at you, nodding gently
  499. >"I would like that very much, but I do not want you to waste your money any further, it won't be necessary."
  500. "I'm guessing you have movies at home?"
  501. >"That I do, so shall we?"
  502. >You nod and again, the walk to the destination is done with silence, until halfway done
  503. >"So Anonymous, what's the type of movie that you like?"
  504. "Oh, I'm not that diverse. I like the classics that everybody told you to watch, in my universe, of course. What about you, Octavia?"
  505. >"I like the Romantic Drama type of movies, they are pretty interesting for the ones I've watched."
  506. >You didn't expect her to be in romantic movies, but looks like she's hiding alot more inside that grey fur and those purple eyes
  507. >Arriving at the door to her house, she gives you a look before stepping inside
  508. >"Anon, could you wait on the couch while I prepare the night?"
  509. "Sure, Tavi. Everything you want."
  510. >You knew where was the living room since you were exploring her house a little bit
  511. >The door opens and she trots quickly to the kitchen, possibly going to make some popcorn
  512. >Sitting down, you notice a blanket right to your side
  513. >You just got the best idea possible.
  514.
  515. >Octavia comes back with a huge bowl of popcorn on her back
  516. >She has trouble placing it on the table, so you help her out by grabbing it and placing it in the crack of the sofa
  517. >"Thank you, Anon."
  518. "Much obliged."
  519. >She dits down and asks you what movie you would want to watch
  520. >You say that any movie would be fine and shen nods, going to check in her CD/DVD case for her favorite movie
  521. >Obviously, you never heard of it
  522. >At least it will be a new experience
  523. >She puts the DVD in the player, sitting down next to you shortly after
  524. >Octavia tries not to make it obvious she's inching her away close to you
  525. >But of course, you notice those things
  526. >The movie finally starts after a slow introduction
  527. >It takes place in a 'noire' setting, which is one you're familiar with due to the 'classics' in your universe
  528. >Surely, it can't be bad
  529. >In fact, you were quite fond of the genre, especially when something intriguing caught your attention
  530. >Well, that could apply to everybody, really
  531. >Taking a handful of popcorn, you eat it in a very polite manner in front of Octavia
  532. >Otherwise you would've stuffed those things in your mouth
  533. >Dear god they were delicious, they just had the right amount of butter so that it dosen't look like you just ate butter, and no popcorn
  534. >After a while, you encounter the scene that flips the whole story around, and you see Octavia's excitement quite easily
  535. >"Oh! Oh! Here comes back the best part!"
  536. >And once again, she must've realized she was with you
  537. >"Ahem."
  538. >You chuckle under your breath, petting her mane
  539. "It's okay, Tavi. You don't always need to be reserved for everything."
  540. >"B-But isn't your action rather childish...?"
  541.
  542. "Oh, this?" You stop making contact with her mane with your hand, looking at her
  543. >She nods, having faint touches of red on both of her cheeks, looking a tad dark with the color of her fur
  544. "I can stop if you want me to, you know."
  545. >"...Proceed."
  546. >You look and quirk your eyebrows at her, a tad confused at what she said
  547. >"What? I said you can proceed. Just because it's childish, dosen't mean I can't enjoy the moment."
  548. >And with that she's back onto watching the screen instead of you
  549. >You chuckle gently and continue to stroke her mane, even curling your fingers in it
  550. >Her mane truly did feel soft, you have to wonder what type of shampoo she uses to get this result
  551. >You grab popcorn with your other hand and upon doing this action, you glanced at the blanket again
  552. >Thinking a second about it, you don't hesitate to grab it swiftly
  553. >She noticed and looks at you, questionning your actions
  554. >Without looking back, you wrap the blanket around the two of you, giving a huge increase in warmth
  555. >"O-Oh..."
  556. >Giving in, she places her head on your chest, starting to feel her eyelids get heavy
  557. >She didn't tell you, but she started to fall alseep slowly, even while watching her favorite movie
  558. >It dosen't take you long to realize it, but why not just stay there and enjoy the moment
  559.
  560. >You watch the movie the whole way through, thinking to yourself that you should watch it again
  561. >It was pretty long, which explains why the clock said it was 8:30 PM
  562. >Huh, maybe it's time to go out, then
  563. >But what about Ocatvia? do you leave her on the couch or put her on the bed?
  564. >Well, the gentleman way to do this is to carry her
  565. >You slowly get out of the blanket and wrap her around the blanket
  566. >Lifting her up gently to make sure that she dosen't wake up in her deep slumber
  567. >You take a close look at her face, seeing a small but warm smile curled on that mouth
  568. >You smile without a real reason and slowly make your way to her room
  569. >Well, turning the doorknob was sure difficult, but you made it
  570. >You are now in Octavia's room again
  571. >Walking towards the bed, you look at her face once more, which has not changed
  572. >You lay her down on the bed comfortably, kissing her cheek
  573. "Goodnight, Tavi."
  574. >And with that, you are on your way out
  575. >But something interrupts your progress of doing so
  576. >It's a hoof, gripping your forearm
  577. >"Anon..."
  578. >You turn your head to look at her, fully awake
  579. >"Maybe you could...stay overnight?"
  580. >That sure as hell surprised you, that's something you never expected to hear tonight
  581. "Really?"
  582. >"Well yes, it would be quite pleasant, to have you around for the night."
  583. "I don't think I can really say no to that, Octavia."
  584.
  585. >Well, you could, but why would you?
  586. >This is basically a golden moment for you, and maybe even more for her
  587. >But there's just one feeling inside of your heart that makes you reconsider your decision
  588. >You never did show your body off to anyone
  589. >And the scene only makes it more uncomfortable
  590. >You stood there, slowly making your way onto the space left for you on the bed
  591. >Now you could just stay in your clothes, but there's no way you're gonna get comfy in those
  592. >"Anon? is everything alright? You have just been standing there, not doing any movement of the sort."
  593. >Her words woke you up from your current mental activity
  594. "Oh, right. Sorry about that."
  595. >She nods, saying that it is okay
  596. >Clearing your throat, you make your way to your side of the bed
  597. >Oddly enough, the bed seemed big enough for you to fit in, even with your great amount of height difference
  598. >Sweet, at least now you won't have to sleep on the couch
  599. >But now you actually have to take your clothes off, which is something you never did with anyone
  600. >Since you actually never have been in a relationship, well, a relationship that went this far, it was fairly embarrasing to take pieces of clothing in front of someone
  601. >With some exceptions, of course
  602. >But this setting wasn't one of them
  603.
  604. >Taking your pants off, you toss them at the corner of her room
  605. >You were seriously trying your hardest to act natural in front of her, you don't want to look ridiculous right now
  606. >Getting a grip at the covers, you hop on the bed and unfold the covers over your body
  607. >You stand there in pure silence, looking around with only your eyeballs
  608. >Octavia looked at you, probably as embarassed as you are
  609. >She looked like she wanted to say something, but was frozen in place
  610. >However, there was one thing that she did
  611. >She gave you a quick kiss on the cheek and turned to her side, wishing that you had a good night
  612. "Good night to you too, Octavia..." As you say in a nervous manner
  613. >It took a while for the two of you to some sleep, it wasn't really a natural thing to sleep in the same bed as someone of the opposite gender for the two of you
  614. >She never did turn to look at you to see if you were sleeping, she probably wanted to look asleep as much as you did
  615. >Or maybe she actually was asleep, and you were stupid standing there, thinking this the whole time
  616.
  617. >Even after a short night due to the nervousness, you actually wake up quite easily
  618. >You know you haven't slept much, but nothing at the moment shows that you're tired or look like you didn't have enough sleep
  619. >Looking at the clock, it indicates that it's 8:15 AM
  620. >As you get off the bed, there's a certain smell that penetrates your nostrils
  621. >That smell was of eggs
  622. >Also with a touch of toasts
  623. >You walk over to the kitchen after putting your pants on, and encounter Octavia with a frying pan in her mouth
  624. >She turns around to look at what was behind her and smiles after noticing that it was you
  625. >Octavia puts the frying pan down on the counter, and begins to start a conversation with you
  626. >"Good morning, Anonymous. I didn't expect you to be awake this early. Would you like some breakfast?"
  627. >You nod and sit down on a chair, grabbing the bottle of orange juice and pouring some onto the glass that was specificly placed there for you
  628. >You guess she did this just in case for when you would wake up
  629. >It took some time before she gave you the plate full of eggs with the toast on the side, but it was really worth the wait
  630. >Octavia sits down next to you and sends a warming smile before taking her first bite of her toast
  631. >Placing the eggs onto the toast as a combination, you stuff your cheeks full of the mix, enjoying the taste
  632.
  633. >"Why thank you, Anonymous. I do appreciate the compliment greatly."
  634. >She still goes with that tender smile
  635. >"But...I do have a question, Anon."
  636. "What is it?"
  637. >"I was wondering why were you so nervous last night. I never thought of you as that kind of pon...person."
  638. >As she says after clearing swallowing the remains on her plate
  639. >It took you some time to answer, mostly because you don't want to look like a total wuss in front of her
  640.
  641. "Well, it's because you're actually the first pony I've slept with..."
  642. >She looks at you, curious as to what you're about to say next
  643. >And just now you realized that your words were close to the lewd territory
  644. "N-Not like the lewd kind of way, just sleeping on another person's..."
  645. >You can feel your cheeks glowing in bright red, trying to cover it in anyway possible
  646. "Actually, nevermind."
  647. >Octavia simply nods at your statement, not wanting to make you feel more embarrassed than you already are
  648. >She grabs your plate and puts it in the dishbin
  649. >Thanks to her giving you a chance to chance the subject of conversation, you ask what would be her plans for today
  650.
  651. >"Well Anonymous, I was planning to do my usual cello practice. I would be more than happy to let you listen."
  652. >You shrug, obviously knowing you have jackshit to do today
  653. >She nods and walks to her room, making you follow
  654. >Upon arriving, she wastes no time by grabbing her cello and waits for you to get comfortable
  655. >Sitting down on her bed, you wait for her to perform
  656. >During the time it took for her to begin, you can't help but feel a good part of embarrassment at what happen the night before
  657. >She closes her eyes and begins hitting her notes, stroking her bow on the strings of the instrument with extreme precision, never showing any signs of screwing up
  658. >The melody was quite slow, but that just shows how much better she is at handling her instrument
  659. >Everything about it just seemed so perfect
  660. >You felt hypnotized by her choice of notes, as it flows as smooth as a calm river on an relaxing evening at the beach
  661. >And just because of her play, you felt like a poet inside of your mind with all the words passing by
  662. >She came to a slow stop, extending her note for a long time, before removing the hair of her bow in a professional fashion
  663. >Octavia opens her eyes once again and turns her head to look at you, completing the eye contact
  664. "That was quite beautiful, Tavi. I don't think I can put the right words together to express how great that performance was."
  665. >She blushes at your compliment once more, making you remember the first time you encountered her at the gala
  666.
  667. >After a short conversation afterwards, with nothing left to say, you decide to go out for the day
  668. > Looking a tad dissapointed by your future lack of presence, she accepts and wishes that the two of you would engage in another conversation again
  669. >Of course you can't refuse such a kind offer
  670. >After all, it is Octavia
  671. >You wave her goodbye and close the door, letting Octavia
  672. >But after you did this action, there was a certain feeling that made you want to go back
  673. >And all of that because of that dissapointment in her face when you looked at her before the door closed
  674. >Unfortunately, you can't really turn back now, you already made your decision
  675. >Oh well, at least you have tomorrow to walk talk to her again
  676.
  677.
  678. >Two weeks has passed since then, and so far it's been going in the right direction with your friendship
  679. >Everyday you would at least do one thing with her, and everytime it felt great
  680. >Maybe you should make her a present, like you planned in the beginning
  681. >But now it seems like the perfect opportunity to do so
  682. >The question is, what are you going to do?
  683. >More specifically, what are you going to create for her?
  684. >You know you had one good idea when you first thought about it, but there's something blocking your mind that prevents you from remembering it
  685. >Oh well, maybe walking around the town will help you
  686.
  687.
  688. >You are Octavia
  689. >Since those two weeks, you've grown rather fond of Anonymous
  690. >Everything about him just seemed so great, his looks, his personality, you could go on and on about it
  691. >Wait...On and on about it? That's something you never really did say in terms of an individual
  692. >Nobody was that much interesting so that you were able to make them the subject of a conversation
  693. >There must be a reason to this, but it's not that easy to do
  694. >It's just a feeling you've never truly did experience before
  695. >Outside of music, of course
  696. >Hm, you guess it's actually a good thing, to break a little out of the regular routine
  697. >Well, now what do you do?
  698. >You could always go try and see if you'll catch Anon in the town, but wouldn't it be too wierd? Maybe it could even considered disturbing
  699. >Ah bloody hell, why not just go for a spin at it
  700. >besides, you need some new strings for your cello anyway
  701.
  702.
  703. >You are Anonymous
  704. >And for a good few minutes, you've been walking down ponyville, letting the small breeze hitting your face
  705. >For once, it was good to not have the sun blind your vision everything you would get out
  706. >So that way you'll be able to concentrate on your reflect on what you're going to give to Octavia
  707. >There isn't alot of ideas that runs through your mind, but the important part is that you have a few
  708. >Just enough that you can count them all in one hand
  709. >And they were kind of underwhelming, to say the least
  710. >You begin to doubt if those ideas would even impress Octavia if you were to present them in physical form
  711. >Well, maybe you should ask one of your friends about it?
  712. >Actually, that sounds like a great idea, let's do that
  713. >Ponies passes by your vision as you walked, until you found that one you were looking for
  714. >It turns out to be Lyra, the first pony you met when arriving on this equestrian land
  715. >She was playing on her lyre, as usual, near the small fountain
  716. >Calm as ever, she raises her head to make eye contact with you, smiling brightly
  717. >You figured she would be the perfect candidate to this, becasue you know, she is a musician as well
  718. >In fact, you never asked if they met or not
  719. >Would be quite sweet if they did
  720. >"Hey Anon! How's it going?"
  721. "Doing alright, what about you?"
  722. >The small proceeds, asking what what you've done this week and other related subjects
  723. >Until you finally asks her the question
  724. "So Lyra, I got a question to ask."
  725. >"Sure! what is it?"
  726. "If you were to get a present from someone, what would you like it to be?"
  727. >Lyra chuckles, like if that was a stupid question
  728. >"Well, Obviously it would need to be something related with my interests!"
  729. "Yeah I know about that but I'm talking about more specifically, what would you want?"
  730. >She takes no time into answer your question, as expected
  731. >"Well, honestly, I wouldn't mind receiving anything, just as long as it comes from the pony's heart!"
  732. >Wait, that's it! That's exactly what you should've thought about this whole time!
  733. >It's not what the item is that counts
  734. "Ah, interesting."
  735. >"But why are you asking me this? is it because you found someone special and you want to impress them?"
  736. >Damnit, maybe you made it a little too obvious with it
  737. >You nod and she dosen't push it any further, just leaving it at that
  738. >Which surprises you, she normally teases you whenever she gets the chance
  739. >Unfortunately, that's not what is important at the moment
  740. >What is important is to make that present for Tavi
  741.
  742. >Resuming to walk around town, all you wanted to do is think about what you're going to give her
  743. >Until you looked at a picture of you and the mane 6, with Rainbow Dash holding a trophy when she won a flying competition
  744. >A trophy, it dosen't sound bad
  745. >The question is: a trophy of what, exactly?
  746. >Evidently, it needs to be music related, but it shouldn't be that hard to think about this
  747. >Wait, what about her instrument? That seems pretty good for an idea
  748.
  749. >Ah, you can see it now, just her reaction when she recieves it
  750. >She will either be dissapointed, or really happy
  751. >The latter option is the reaction you would prefer, no question about it
  752. >There's only you don't really have anything durable to consider it a trophy
  753. >Besides, where in the hell are you going to find gold, or bronze?
  754. >You decide to go with wood, it's easier to get and you can get a huge supply of it if you fuck up once, for cheap
  755. >And just as you think about it, you come across a music store
  756. >Oh well, might as well go check inside to see if there's anything interesting
  757.
  758. >You turn the handle and get inside of the store
  759. >The cashier greets you nicely, as expected
  760. >Politely, you greet them back like any nice man should
  761. >Cruising down the aisles, you come across the section where they present the strings for every instrument possible
  762. >Huh, while you're at it, maybe you should buy a pack for Tavi, she might like the offer
  763. >You call the cashier and she quickly comes up for any questions you may have
  764. "Hi uh, I was looking for some cello chords, and I can't really decide. Which one is the best quality among all of them?"
  765. >"Well, it all depends on your playstyle! But I would recommend this pack out the most! We see tons of musicians pick this brand for strings and whole instruments!"
  766. >Oh really? maybe Octavia is one of them!
  767. >For some dumb reason, you didn't proceed to ask any more questions, and just bought them immediately
  768. >After all, the clerk did say alot of musicians did buy that brand of strings
  769. >So that was fast, what now?
  770. >Well, maybe you should give this pack to Octavia while you're at it?
  771. >You get out of the store and immediately bump into somepony
  772. >The pony groaned and apolgized with a familiar accent
  773. >A soft british one
