- Shadow Dualist
- This specialization is the evolution of the dodge tank. Their unique characteristic is manipulating the enemy's aggro and dodging their attacks to unleash fierce counter attacks.
- Instead of using predict, they can attack and dodge with deft thrust.
- There are many passives like Ray of Light and Lightweight which are useful for dodge tanking.
- There's more freedom for different actions, since Phantom Swords provides dodging assistance, much more reliable than predict.
- Other than dodge tanking, Lure and Revenge Thrust has explosive damage output, which both skills fufill their own little niches.
- Ray of Light
- Passive skill
- Whenever the fencer is attacked, target rate and defense of all damage is increased.
- For example, at level 5 if you dodge 5 attacks, then full defense will be increased by 30%.
- Damage reduction resets when dodging fails.
- This skill works well with other skills like Predict and Lightweight, where attacks that weren't dodged that would otherwise kill instantly are instead mittigated.
- When shields are unequipped a message saying "usable skills have changed" will pop up. Ray of Light has no bearing on weather or not a shield is equiped, only accumilation of defense changes.
- Counter boost
- Passive
- When Sylphid activates another attack will be added. Rate of counter and ammount of attacks are added when level of skill is increased.
- Multiple hit attacks, and attaks from multiple enemies will activate Sylphid multiple times, there will be a counter attack for that amount of dodges.
- If Sylphid and Counter boost are both at level 10, theoretically a maximum of 16 hits is possible.
- At max level the ammount of counter attacks are dramatically increased, aswell as damage from counters. If damage from counter attacks is the main, then put this at max level.
- Auto curtain
- Not very reliable at max 25%, but doesn't spend TP.
- Lure
- Active skill
- On the same turn, everytime an enemy attack is dodged allies on the same row as the fencer will attack with their equiped weapons
- When multi hit attacks are dodged the number of countered attacks will activate after the attack is over, even if the fencer dies the attacks will still activate
- If the targer dies during counter attacks, the remaining counters will be applied randomly to other enemies.
- Dragoon's dragon roar works well with this skill in order to aggro attacks since the fencer can not aggro attacks by itself when using this skill.
- Deft thrust.
- Sword skill
- Stab damage to one enemy. Increases aggro and dodge rate when this skill is used.
- Has high speed modifier
- Dodge and aggro rate is lower than predict, however the rates never go down, defense doesn't go down either making fencers with armor work well with this skill.
- This skill works well together with Ray of Light.
- Lightweight
- Passive skill
- The more empty equip slots, the higher dodge percentage.
- May seem like a gimmick, but it is effective, Having 2-3 slots empty should suffice for good dodge rates.
- Because you won't be able to use accessories for preventing ailments, you may want to use passive racial skills to prevent ailments.
- It's better to remove all slots, than just half.
- Revenge Thrust
- Sword/Arm/Str based
- Stab/Elec damage to one enemy. Inflicts more damage the more you dodge by the time the attack is cast. Even if a dodge fails, the counter will be preserved.
- Basic damage stays the same when you level up the skill. Leveling the skill affects, charge number, and charge damage.
- This skill can reach to ridiculous amounts of damage.
- Everytime you dodge a charge counter increases.
- Phantom Swords
- Active skill/ Leg based
- For three turns one enemy row will have lower aim rate. Turns increase through skill level.
- Not as effective as blind, However blind resistance isn't a factor with this skill, meaning that this will keep the fencer safe.
- Debuff with no damage, but cannot be used without a sword.
- This skill is usefull when combined with shaman's Haste prayer.
- This skill takes lots of TP so it must be used carefully.
