Harmony Theory. The next big one. I'm not sure whether or not the scientific community will accept this new theory, but given everything that's happened already with regards to giant monsters, super-soldiers, and the Guardian Sentinels, I'm inclined to believe that fellow colleagues will at least give this way of thinking a go.

The basic concept behind Harmony Theory is actually quite similar to what String Theory once set out to achieve. However, I feel that the old concept was incomplete. Nothing's as simple as these so-called "strings" linking particles throughout the universe. But then people wonder..... What else could it be?

The answer to that question? It's everywhere, and we never thought of it before. Matter is anything made up of detectable energy and particles, but then what about their absence? See, that's where Harmony Theory comes in.

The kind of energy that enables the existence of what amounts to superpowers in regular beings and the essential component that makes gigantic lifeforms and machines possible seems to simply come from nowhere, brought out by way of a timed and sequenced pattern of electromagnetic pulses and specific vibration frequencies, catalyzed by sapient thought. But I propose that it isn't coming from out of nowhere, but the very empty space that atoms and energy do not occupy.

I'll elaborate. What we perceive to be empty space is in actuality another fundamental aspect of existence itself. Normally, we never even realize there is anything until we see the miracle energy mentioned earlier being pulled out of this supposed lack of matter. It is the connective tissue that truly binds the universe together. But rather than being represented as strings, it's represented as distinct patterns that, once tapped into, grant any matter utilizing these "Harmonies" properties that defy its normal governing physics.

Now that we've learned a bit more about Harmony Theory, we can begin to venture into its application in our everyday lives. I presume that many of us are now familiar with the giant monsters, super-soldiers, and Guardian Sentinels that exist in our world. But what many don't understand is that what makes them all possible was within us the whole time.

We used to call it Non-Standard DE Energy years back, but now that we've studied it some more, we've come to the conclusion that we've found the non-metaphorical "Chi" that permeates all living things.

Although Chi technically doesn't just inhabit living beings, it's most often seen in biological organisms. Now, we all know that the monster known as Gamera uses Mana, but what isn't as widely known is that Mana is the ENTIRETY of the non-matter of the universe seen in Harmony theory, most of it being the vacuum of space. Chi is a subset of this universal energy. Basically, Chi is the untrained and inactive Mana found within physical substances. We're almost never aware of it, but it's always present.

In certain special circumstances, Chi may be brought forth through sheer mental prowess. However, it's never intentional. Why? Because the next subject is when it IS intentional.

Now, I said earlier that the intentional usage of the Mana inhabiting physical objects isn't Chi. We call it "Ki". Basically, it's us actively drawing out our Chi into a state that we can manipulate for our own use. Giant monsters, Guardian Sentinels, and even super-soldiers all utilize this form of non-Matter.

As said earlier, it takes certain Harmonies to bring forth latent Chi to use it as Ki. Once you perfect the process, however, you can do any number of things, aside from merely having near limitless energy and increased physical fitness. Caution must be taken, however!

Years ago, the Children of Monsters created a method of drawing out their Ki via nanomachines. That way is dangerous and could have any number of unintended side effects, possibly even random and horrific mutations.

That's why all of our defense forces are equipped with Ki-Interface Engines throughout their suits, instead. These devices may be more cumbersome and prone to failure upon taking enough damage, but they're completely safe to use in the field.
