  1. There were a few bugs already in the building; not enough to put together a coherent picture of what was going on inside, but enough for me to tell that there were no sounds of violence or smells of blood. I sent a swarm into the building to improve my visibility, and was relieved to see that the construction crews had taken advantage of Regent's temporary absence to finish the marble tiling on the floors in the main audience chamber slash throne room. The unassuming warehouse exterior of the lair made it the best location we owned for a truck to pull up inconspicuously but I had been half afraid that we would be bringing our new recruits someplace unfinished. If this new plan of grabbing and seizing territory was going to work, I was going to have to make sure that we kept showing Blake, Nicole, and every other new cape that we acquired our most impressive sides.

  3. I had anticipated that the rest of the Undersiders would be meeting us there, so I wasn't particularly surprised to see them waiting for us in the grand hall, but I hadn't expected anyone else to have joined them except for maybe Accord and the Ambassadors. I turned to Regent and Imp as we hustled through the unassuming exterior corridors of the warehouse. "Can any of you think of a particular reason why Flechette would be in the building?"
