- [12:52] Every patrol came with its own deal of risk. Though it was a Knight's duty to ensure that risk wasn't going to be spread towards the innocent, defenseless, the meek. Of course one could always pretend that they were bound by such a duty, and that it brought them everlasting strength.
- Yuri was not someone like that.
- He definitely was scared, terrified by the mere sight of Demons. The last he'd encountered had defeated him soundly, cleanly. His whole body trembled when those nightmarish abominations came into view, yet...
- "I.. H-Hey! Leave those people alone, D-Demons..!"
- Words that could draw attention, for one, but words that sent his whole body shaking. Was he really going to poke and provoke the beasts?
- All for the sake of people he'd never met?
- (Yuri)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [12:54] "..."
- What did Anguisa just say? The Drakanite had dared to sully their race, by comparing them with such grotesque, pointless terminology?
- "You insult us with your words, Dragon. You didn't call us a Demon there, you called us mindless shells. I don't think you quite understand this situation. Whatever predecessors you found yourself in combat against, is most surely not the same now. The next generation has grown much smarter than those damned stupid dogs."
- The Canine proceeded to lick it's palm, walking forward. The aura in which Bay possessed intrigued Voráz. There appeared to be quite the audience, especially now.
- Celeste pupils looked around, bringing the star-attuned Demon to chuckle.
- "How many of us? Hundreds, Thousands... This is the coming of a new age."
- And so forth, Voráz lunged forward, seemingly invigorated by another magic.
- "This is spectacular...! I haven't a clue what it has done to me, but I will surely make it my own power!"
- His circuits powered themselves, a yellow energy overtaking himself.
- (Voráz)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [12:54] "We hunt because there's not much else. I have goals, and bonds. Though going outside of our home will always lead to combat. Even if we don't instigate it."
- "Though I'd like to experiment with that one day...But next time.
- Right now I want my revenge."
- The panther stepped towards the winged Drakanite. He had battled the lady before but he had grown quite a bit since their previous encounter. His injures would likely hold him back from fighting at full capacity, but this was a personal test to get a gauge of the beast's growth.
- Maybe soon he'd even be able to beat Anguisa.
- "You. Let's see how far I've come."
- There wasn't much time to waste. He didn't pay much attention to Bay at the moment as his golden eyes were already locked down on the woman in front of him. A few words came from behind, but those were paid little attention too. Jaeger already had a bigger battle on his hands.
- He sought evolution. Continual battles against similar opponents such as her would let the young monster set milestones for himself. Obstacles that would surely be trampled over in his path of destruction.
- (Jaeger)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [12:55] Yuri exclaims, "A-Argh! These beasts aren't listening?!"
- [12:57] Yuri seemed baffled by the fact the Demons hadn't taken his bait. Then again the strategy was all too poor for it to work on beings above the age of eight. While the nightmarish animals leapt forth, the young teenager remained on the ready to help. He would be there the moment the tides of battle would turn!
- (Yuri)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [12:58] Thea lets her hand fall from her sword. It seemed as though her friends had the whole thing handled, so there was no point in her stepping in right now. She'd just linger nearby in case anymore Demons decided to step up. Heck, maybe she'd be able to smack around the same one that she beat up last time if she waited long enough!
- (Thea Adelman)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:02] There's a glance paid towards Anguisa as she spits her spiel. Honestly, he didn't expect that kind of venom coming from the Drakanite! A little chuckle escapes out of Bay's lips as a grin forms from ear to ear.
- "Well, if there are thousands coming onto Esshar then I welcome the coming dances. There's barely been a stable tune to shuffle to..."
- Cries of distractions ring out but Voraz's path was already defined. Holding a disinterested stare the staff's withdrawn from its sling.
- "Come and dance then. You already have the spotlight on you..."
- "So let me show you how terribly you dance within its glory."
- An immediate surge of heat flares up around the area. Granules of sand rise to his command, coalescing in a ring behind Bay's frame as the foreign runes dotted its perimeter. Hel, should Voraz listen closely he'd hear the faint murmuring of incantations.
- Well, that is if he could hear it over the roaring of the oncoming sandstorm.
- (Bay)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:15] The Dragon seemed to have flown off, evading the panther's initial attack.
- His eyes darted around in search of another target. Bay had already beaten Voraz but recent combat must've meant he was in a weakened state, a perfect time for the beast to engage.
- Jaeger leaped off his two hind legs and aimed to pounce on the elementalist, hoping he'd be able to claim victory unlike his brethren.
- "You then."
- (Jaeger)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:16] Upon the lunge came the imminent spin of the Rhoynur's frame. When he meant dance he truly meant it. Each spell he cast came with a movement - Whether it be a turn on a dime to jut his staff, guiding those searing strains of sand towards his opponent or a two step to guide another flame out before him.
- It was all but a game to Bay.
- Yet his disinterest is palpable all up until one fell step guides him through a sudden blast of mana. Skidding along the forest's floor he'd grit his teeth and finally crack a smile.
- "Better, better! Unlike that poor excuse for a snake you've got a bite!" Bay cackled on out before rushing back into the fray. His heart pounded against his chest as his staff spun - Collecting up the barrage of mana that was cast his way in an sandy wall.
- Yet every dance had to end its tune eventually, right? With a trail of blazing sand following behind him Bay makes headway for the wolf. They could brace for the impact, surely, but just as he's ten feet from the wolf--
- The circle behind him completes, and he lunges himself right back into it...
- Crashing his foot against the wolf's side in one swift movement as another sand-based portal opens up behind him. It's a staggering move if any, but with one little huff the Rhoynur's staff is flicked outwards at his side.
- "Yet here we are... I'm more practiced, more versed than you" With a click of his tongue he'd hold a disappointed expression towards Voraz. "Where's the challenge, dear wolf..? Did the other one I maim tell you about me? Bay?"
- (Bay)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:16] To defend another in a time of need. A value that many upheld and took to heart. In Yuri's case it was... more of a thought that he, in that situation, would really prefer to run away rather than have to fight beast after beast. A single Demon was terrifying enough, and if his words hadn't been plenty to stop the panther before his blade surely would be.
- An oversized sword was swung widely as the young Knight placed himself in-between the Rhoynish and the Demon, fending off the beast.
- "I-I told you to leave them alone!"
- (Yuri)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:21] {Won Dangerous RPB against Jaeger}
- [13:23] Patrolling the skies was the Drakanite known as Thryne. Those massive wings nearly thirty five foot at full expanse beat the wind heavily. Easily catching enough to sustain him in flight.
- If that wasn't enough to announce him to the bridge dwellers, then certainly the massive wave of heat that followed did. All vegetation in the area immediately browned. And that was without him having landed just yet.
- Upon which, his knees bent ever slightly as his legs took his weight. Just at the same time a wave of dirt and grass and what not blew about the area. In response to his wings giving one last thrust to balance himself upon his landing.
- Dark orange, flecked with specks of yellow, stared forth at the scene. It seemed he was just a bit too late, again. Damn!
- "They just don't learn.."
- He said just as the stone beneath him began to boil and bubble.
- (Thryne)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:29] There was something about fighting against the occult that pulled Yuri forward in a manner that he did not quite grasp. Everytime the vile energies crashed against that blue shroud of his it seemed to grow stronger, mightier. His swings were cleaner and those overhead smashes of his came with more... impact.
- What had that other Demon done to him to make his body react in such a way whenever he was brought to fight against that sickening kind?
- The panther would find itself quickly dispatched and taken care of by the young Knight. Swing after swing drove it backwards. Every bit of distance drawn would only result in Yuri's mana roaring forth, sending powerful blasts of condensed energy to drive the Demon into a tree or two.
- This was no Misha, but it was scary nonetheless.
- Pushed by a might he had yet to experience against anything but Demons, Yuri found his oversized weapon slicing at the Panther's side for a clean finish.
- The blade was spun in his grasp, clumsily mind you, before being directed at Jaeger again.
- "D- This is why you don't swarm people!"
- He was no expert on catchphrases.
- (Yuri)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:32] Golden eyes peered out from beneath the cover of his hood, initial concern for Anguisa causing him to stop but her departure caused his worries to wane.
- The fact that demons could use cosmic magic was something Kaalthar found almost insulting, however, and for that reason he observed the demon's figure keenly to try to convert each detail to memory.
- (Kaalthar)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:33] Voráz was severely outmatched in every regard. Such was the same event, when Hayakuen fought against Serea Astor, as well as Anastasia. Both had a special ability, one which gave the appearance of boundless strength.
- The wolf fought against sand, earth, fire, and even a portion of water. Accompanied by this was another strength. The confidence upheld by Bay.
- It infuriated Voráz to no end, replenishing his rage. But, even the canine knew to keep himself cool under pressure. Such was the ability granted to the strong.
- A foot finds itself into the Wolf's ribcage, sending him backwards. Directly after, a vortex of sand halts his movement abruptly, defeating him.
- And yet, he manages to recover from any severe injuries. Wounds are healed in a matter of seconds, perhaps the invigoration from a star? Whatever it was, it aided the Demon well. He needed to utilize that power.
- Slowly, it got up to it's feet.
- "Your confidence blinds you, 'Bay.' Of course, I have heard of your name. Why did you think I specifically targeted you? I am not stupid. I needed to see the gap between our strengths, and analyze what I must surpass."
- His previous speech is finished with a smirk, which opens into another.
- "Better than the Snake? Poor excuse? Hnn, you must be speaking of Szora."
- "I am not the same as the rest of my kin. Jaeger lives for destruction, Ulciél wishes to find emotion, and for that reason, he is Nihilistic, and Szora is the definition of madness."
- It licks blood from it's paw, watching it evaporate into smoke. Soon afterwards, it's Celeste pupils lock onto Bay.
- "Needless to say, it was a fantastic conclusion. I myself have been bred upon solitude. A lone wolf, one which envies the weak, such as yourself. For that reason, I isolated myself from the rest, until now. Although, I am still... lonely. I find myself searching for the answer. I will find it through battle."
- It now stands up, head high.
- "Whatever. My bite will only grow stronger in the age to come..."
- (Voráz)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:40] Another new face to add to the list.
- A child wielding a sword far too big for his own good. But he utilized it well, able to swing it around with an ample amount of grace. Jaeger did his best to avoid those powerful slashes though the sheer size of Yuri's weapon made it difficult to avoid.
- He had been manifesting more magical power as of recent. Occult energy bent to his will and the air around the area suddenly kicked up into whirling winds at they fought. Though Yuri's prowess in the magical arts far exceeded what the demon was capable of.
- Blasts of energy that flung Jaeger through the trees and ended the battle as they knew it. With his current injuries the panther couldn't continue fighting, something he'd address soon.
- "What would you know? You don't see reason, you don't know why we do what we do. All you see is a beast and you attack.
- I won't listen to your words anyway, you know nothing."
- The panther's golden eyes met Yuri's. Before taking his leave he'd speak to the child, standing his ground while he could. The pain was getting to him, his body had been reduced to a hunk of it's former ability. He was a walking corpse, he should've been dead but some foreign power was keeping Jaeger on his feat. He wanted this suffering to end.
- (Jaeger)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:41] So his name was getting out. A sharp smirk forms on his mug as that statement is said aloud by the beast. Even then Bay's staff is held at the ready just in case they're ready to lunge once more.
- "I am confident because I can back it up. I am confident because, in the end, even if I am to die I'd just meet you once more in death. Our kinds have been at war for far longer than you and I could both recall... The Endless War between Helheim and Njorun has been written in destiny for us both."
- "It's a shame, truly, that there's rumor of a Rhoynish dancing with your kind."
- Scrunching up his nose Bay gave a slow shake of his head. That issue would be dealt with in time.
- The arid heat of the desert still persisted as Bay stood tall. Slowly that staff is lowered back towards his side - The foci aimed now at the ground as his gaze remains locked to Voraz's.
- "Weakness is something I lack though. You're free to believe what you will, but..." There's a pause as a sigh escapes him. "The marks I've made on your kind speak for themselves. Do me one thing however."
- "Get stronger. I want an actual dance when I see you again." One swift movement of his staff plants the butt end of it into the sands. Prideful? Absolutely, but his intentions were clear.
- Bay wasn't going to cull the Demon just yet. There was no honor in stomping out the weak.
- (Bay)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:43] To see a beast and attack it. Was it really all there was to it? Was there no honor, and only glory in this? Yuri felt a tad conflicted by that notion, giving time for the panther to make its swift escape while emerald hues fell upon the ground.
- He had been driven by a force that pushed behind his back during that whole encounter, after all. That's.. how it felt.
- Was it a bad thing?
- (Yuri)
